  1. I'm taking Villa to win tonight. Villa have made a great start to the Champions League and with the defeat to Spurs put aside, they've produced in the league too. Perhaps this match was in their mind for that loss, but Club Brugge do not inspire me. I feel like there is quite a big difference between the two teams. I'm also taking Duran to keep his form going with a goal or assist. 2.5pts Villa to beat Brugge 23/20 Bet365 2.5pts Duran to score or assist 13/10 Paddypower 1.5pts Villa to win, most corners and most shots on target 6/1 padypower

  2. This season has just been strange. Having the Olympics is a big deal. The tennis season is already beyond hectic, and an extra tournament with a return to clay is brutal. The travel is insane, and it has just exhausted people. They have 6 weeks off now, and then it is off to Australia. Some players are hardly showing up. Kvitova, Pliskova, Garcia, Vondrousova, Stephens. And the results are totally inconsistent and very difficult to predict. It's not like football where you have 10 players to carry you when you have an off day. In addition, footballer quality is so subjective and difficult to quantify. Tennis it is easy. You don't perform ... you lose. Marcus Rashford, shows no form, plays poorly most weeks and collects 300K every monday. For me most WTA matches (ranking 25-80) are a complete lottery. Anything can happen. There has also been a momumental swing in top 100 WTA players. Tatjana Maria, Yulia Starodubtseva, Zeynep Sonmez, Olivia Gadecki, Sonay Kartal, Suzan Lamens, Camila Osorio, Kamilla Rakhimova, Renata Zarazua to name a few. Who are these people? . Thery are all relatively new, inexperienced and inconsistent. Difficult to bet on these people with any consistency. It is literally win 1 lose 1 which is just brutal for bettting. Personally I find football much easier to bet on. Liverpool are excellent, and you can oppose Man United most weeks, and the 3 teams at the bottom of the EPL are consistently poor. It is way more difficult in tennis and the odds are atrocious.

  7. The mugs and pens are great. The mugs used everyday on the building sites. I play golf now and again so a golf umbrella would suit me. Also a decent calendar would be great especially one with the racing fixtures on it. The way I'm tipping at the moment it won't make any difference what the prize is. Cheers Tony

  9. Caty Mcnally to beat (-1.5 sets) Alycia Parks at 2.81 with Coolbet I think I cannot do anything but say this bet is failsafe unless Mcnally decides to retire after 1 set since Coolbet is a bookie that doesn't void at retirements. But seeing Mcnally retire when she's back in full form again is hard for me to think it's possible and she looked healthier than ever last round.

  14. Many thanks for your advice. I have calculated that if I don't get any wins up to 31.12.24 I will lose 47.60 pts. As Lord Farquaad said in the film Shrek "some of you may die but it's a sacrifice I am willing to make". I quite often find when I am looking for my selections that my favoured Jockeys/Trainers have the favourite at the top of the market with odds less than 7/2. Sometimes I treat these as a danger and have only one selection in the race instead of two or just leave the race alone altogether. After @Trotter got his win with short priced favourites I thought it may be a good idea to use my danger favourite selections in a combined bet. This could act as a kind of insurance bet for my L15 selections. It may work. It may not work. Who's to know until I try it. For me it adds to the fun in watching the races. A bit more worrying is that my L15 balance has moved -40 points from - 95 in April to almost -135 atm so I have to get some points back before the end of the year. Less worrying is that my total loss for the year (including singles bets) is running at -190. Hence, hours and hours of daily entertainment for less than 55p per day if my balance remains the same seems like real value for money to me. Although I have many selections per day I am not pin sticking the selections. These are largely based on Trainers/Jockeys entries and bookings. I realise that lots of people love rating their selections and are very successful but I love to see which trainers and jockeys have managed to get winners when all the published form lines suggest they only have a small chance of winning.

  16. You might want to recheck your maths on that. I make it that even a fourfold would see you get less than half your total stake back if you did this till the end of the year. You’d need to hit all 5 or several 3s and 4s to finish in front. It strikes me as just another way for you to drip feed your money to the bookies. I’ve just realised you might mean that a treble should more than pay for that day’s bet, which is true, though the above is relevant to the overall returns you can expect. As all the evidence suggests you can’t beat the odds (i.e. your selections would show a loss if backed as level stake singles) then you can expect to lose however you combine your selections, unless you get lucky (as in lottery win lucky). There’s some logic for you doing lucky 15s as the boosted returns for 1 winner offset your losses to some extent and you have a chance of hitting that really big win. Doing these bets offers no such benefits. In my opinion you’d be better of focusing on improving your selection process rather than thinking of different ways to combine loss making bets. If you can get close enough to break even then the L15 bonus could turn that into a small long term profit. I look at your updates every day and just get a mounting sense of too many horses backed in too many different bets at too small stakes. How much to bet is very much a personal choice and needs to be done with regard to being responsible in terms of not risking more than you can afford to lose but, at the other end of the scale I feel stakes can be pointlessly small. No-one is likely to care that much about losing 75p so there’s a risk of the selection process lacking any real rigour, especially when backing so many horses every day. All that said I’ll congratulate you now on the full house you’ll inevitably land today after I’ve chosen to share these “pearls of wisdom”!

  18. EDIT: The Punters Lounge £150 added Poker League for NOVEMBER and DECEMBER combined will run over 6 legs on Wednesday nights. This is due to Poker Stars being unable to fulfil the original leg 2 scheduled date, and then the clash over Christmas and New Year. Revised details are below. (I will also likely rearrange the prize structure and added money.) The £150 added by Punters Lounge is shared between the top 3 in the league at the end of the month. Games start at 8.10pm, with a 20min late registration period on top of this. All games are played in the PokerStars Home Games PL Poker Club. > Leg 1 : Wednesday 6th November at 20.10 GMT in the PL Poker Club Home Game - NLHE 3000 chips > Leg 2 : Wednesday 13th November - NLHE 3000 chips cancelled > Leg 2 : Wednesday 20th November - PLO 5000 chips > Leg 3 : Wednesday 27th November - NLHE 5000 chips > Leg 4 : Wednesday 4th December - NLHE 3000 chips > Leg 5 : Wednesday 11th December - PLO 5000 chips > Leg 6 : Wednesday 18th December - NLHE 5000 chips - (double entrants in points formula)** Buy in is $5.50 per leg. Your top 4 scores of the 6 legs will count towards your league total. We will be using the usual PL poker league format, which will be updated in this thread. (The PokerStars own league scores will not be used.) Formula is -Log(position/Entrants)x100 To help boost numbers overall and in particular in the final leg we are continuing the system of doubling the number of entries used in the calculation in leg 6 (**so if 10 entries the formula will use 20 entrants). This will increase the number of points available in the final leg to make it more competitive. All members are welcome, however you must post in this thread if asked to let us know your forum username, otherwise your placings and scores cannot be included in the league. New players are always welcome to join in, so please spread the word and invite your friends to the forum so we can keep the weekly numbers up and remain viable. £150 Added Value & Punters Lounge Merchandise The £150 added will be split between the top 3 players of the league end, with £75 to the league champion, £45 to 2nd and £30 to 3rd. This will be payable via PayPal at the end of the league. Big thank you to Punters Lounge for the added funds. The league winner will also get Punters Lounge merchandise, which consists of our logo mug and pack of 10 pens. Unfortunately due to supplier shipping restrictions we may be unable to provide these to members who live outside of the UK. To join the PokerStars PL Home Games Club: club id = 744199 password = PLPokerClub We also have a PL Poker Club Facebook group where regular reminders are also posted. 19. Lehecka hasn't looked good to me late in the year indoors.. I think there was some injuries earlier year I forgot about. Meanwhile Klein has been cruising in Belgrade running through the qualifiers. I am a bit tempted to try it, but Klein has let me down before.. No bet as of now.. I would also be slightly tempted on Djere only because he won first two rounds easy already, and last time in Belgrade gave Djokovic a very difficult time losing in third set tiebreak.. I can't recall the court speed in Belgrade, but I am guessing very slow indoor court.

    NFL Week 10 Bets

Week Ten NFL Predictions YTD P45 W21 D2 L22 Staked 270 pts, returned 84.68 pts = YTD loss of 185.32pts. (1) NYGiants to win ATS -6.0 points @ 10/11. I am surprised I am saying this but the Giants are the better team here. The Panthers and Bryce Young will struggle to repeat their victory over the Patriots. Daniel Jones is usually good when he gets time in the pocket. Panthers have struggled to generate pressure all season. (2) 49Ers to win ATS -5.5 points @ 10/11. The 49ers’ off a bye week and the expected return of Christian McCaffrey should be pivotal here against a poor Buccaneers defence. (3) Bears to win ATS -6.0 points @ 10/11. The Bears defence is one of the best in the NFL but did not show up last week. I shall give them another chance at home against a poor New England team. (4) Steelers to win ATS +3.0 points @ 5/6. The Commanders have had a relatively easy schedule and playing the Steelers off a bye will be very different. Watch T.J. Watt will come hunting rookie QB Jayden Daniels. (5) Eagles to win ATS -7.5 points @ Evens. Dak Prescott and CD Lamb are the Cowboys best players and both are injured. With a reduced attacking threat and a poor run defence there will be little the Cowboys can do to stop Saquon Barkley. Hopefully A J Brown will start for the Eagles. NFL Week 9 Bets

Week Nine NFL Results Week nine was similar to week eight, three wins and two defeats. P5 W3 L2 Staked 30 pts, returned 7.29 pts for a weekly loss of 22.71 pts. YTD P45 W21 D2 L22 Staked 270 pts, returned 84.68 pts = YTD loss of 185.32pts. (1) Colts to win ATS+5.0 points @ 10/11. Vikings win by eight 21-13 LOST A few stats suggest the Colts could defeat the Vikings. Firstly, the Colts are 12-2 ATS in their last 14 games versus NFC North teams. They are also 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games against Minnesota. Starting Joe Flacco will give this team a major boost. The Vikings Justin Jefferson was in top form. (2) Lions to win ATS -3.5 points @ Evens. Lions win by ten 24-14. WON An injury to Jordan Love could disrupt the Packers offence. The Lions are playing lights out, with Montgomery and Gibbs in tremendous form. A stat I like is the Lions are 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games against Green Bay. Green Bay QB Jordan Love tried hard to play through his injury. (3) Bears to win ATS +1.0 points @ 20/23. Bears dominated by Cardinals 29-9 LOST. The Bears defence is one of the best in the NFL and will keep the Cardinals closed down. The Cardinals could only score seven points in the first half against the Dolphins and the Bears defence is better than Miami’s. The Bears defence did not show up. (4) LA Rams to win ATS -2.0 points @ 10/11. Overtime win for the Rams 26-20 WON Early season injuries took their toll on the Ram’s but with Matthew Stafford, Kyren Williams, Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp on the field they are a different team as the Vikings found out last week. Nacua is carrying an injury still. (5) Washington to win ATS -3.5 points @ 10/11. Washington win by five 27-22 WON There was not much between these teams when they met in week 2, with Washington winning 21-18. Washington won this game by running the football, something the Giants often struggle to do. Last week was the exception, with rookie Tyrone Tracy Jr., running for 145 yards and a touchdown before leaving to in the fourth quarter with possible concussion? Washington were cruising 21-7at half time. The Giants tried hard to peg back the deficit.

  26. Poor day yesterday with just the 3 posted winners (Kulenovic, Gyokeres and Junior). Left up requests on David and Vlahovic to go in play and the latter was matched before he scored which limited the losses. Unfortunately cancelled Vlahovic well before his goal. Hopefully a better return tonight!

He ends up as our runaway champion for the month. And despite the low turnout Thebestthere and Rosco were able to leapfrog onto the podium to take 2nd and 3rd for the month. Well done winners, I'll arrange the payments. October Winners 1st @McG £75 (+ PL Mug and Pens) 2nd @thebestthere £45 3rd @rosco ( @howdoicollect ) £30 Thank you to everyone who played in the month If we could muster a few more players that would be great.

    Melbourne Cup

Fair play and yes he was unlucky not to be closer, but that form shouldn't have been good enough to win a Melbourne Cup. That's what makes the race so great though because you can get results like this and he has beaten WFA G1 horses which is great to see.

Buckaroo travelled the furthest distance of any horse in the race and went 15m further than the winner. Got given a shocking ride and then he reckons the horse doesn't stay. I really hope Waller doesn't listen to him as I think he can win next year's race if he arrives in the same form as this year.

Meanwhile the Irish fans will be baying for blood against New Zealand after what they did to them in the World Cup.
