Wimbledon 2019

Recommended Posts

See? That's exactly what I'm talking about - Hercog drops from 1.90 to about 1.55 and she's losing smoothly at the moment. I don't know that's happening in 2019, but this occurrence seems to be more common than ever before for some reason that I just can't identify. Obviously still hoping that she can turn things around, but this is one of those things that have always seriously bugged me. I should just become a trader I guess.

I definitely think it's worth going with Lajovac against Hurkacz, today @3.75 @uni or more. His movement on grass is bad and Lajovic is able to make him move... Value of the day for me. Lajovic didn't have luck with Wimbledon draws in recent years (Federer in 1st rnd 2018 and 2nd rnd 2017 - beat "previous" Tsitsipas before that), but this 1st round opponent is a chance for him. This is all based mainly on Hurkacz's bad movement on this surface, but with this price - I'm on it!

Unfortunately I see good chances for all my fellow countrymen to be out of the tournement before the day ends.

Verdasco shouldn't be an underdog vs Majchrzak - it must be sth with health issues of the Spaniard, but nevertheless - @2.06 unibet is okay for me for a good server (I saw him vs grass specialist Mannarino lately and I liked what I saw)

Easy win for Hercog :lol On a separate note, if anyone wanted or needed proof that tennis betting is an absolute minefield then look no further than Pliskova's match taking place now. She's into a second set tie-break and has been caused all kinds of problems by a player she was 1.03, at best, to beat. And that's after she took the title at Eastbourne where she destroyed reigning Wimbledon champion Kerber in the final.

Cori Gauff to beat Venus Wiliams at 4.30 with Betfair

This is the second time I back Cori to win and I know this girl got game. It's a huge game she has that can carry her a long way. Maybe to the top of the game beating even Serena Williams in number of Grand slam titles. If she's that good, she'll easily beat Venus today.

Parlay at 8.38 with Betfair

Cori Gauff to beat Venus Williams at 4.30

Go Coco go!

Miomir Kecmanovic/Roberto Carballes Baena, Miomir to win first set and win the match 1.95

Let's hope Miomir comes into this with full speed ahead because I don't know what to expect from him or his opponent RCB. Miomir could be like in Antalya and go unbroken for 6 sets so if that's the case he should find a break to win first set. The match he should also win ofcourse but how I got no clue.

Unreal from Gauff! And I officially hate Mr. Granollers.

Agree an unreal performance from Gauff considering her age - but an awful performance from Venus. So many unforced errors. Without those I don't think Gauff would have won.

Lorenzo Musetti to beat Yosuke Watanuki at 2.70 with Betfair

In Recanati there's a challenger going on and Lorenzo has a match that looks like a tough draw for him but I honestly don't think so and can't understand the odds on this one. Lorenzo won Junior Aussie open so he can play on hardcourt. He may have played on clay last week but I'm not so worried about his change of surface because the guy is allround and his opponent the japanese Yosuke doesn't scare me at all.

Zidansek to beat Bouchard 2-0 at 2.25 with Bet365

I know Bouchard is capable of a big performance but i dont see it here. Her fitness is always questionable and on top of that she is on a 5 match losing streak with her last two performances being dreadful. Straight set win is always a risk but i think the odds are worth a try.

Well, apparently the players are saying that it's among the slowest ever. Shouldn't have rushed to take so many bets without knowing that, obviously someone like Sonego is going to suffer from that. Should help Garin and Schwartzman though.

and Basilashvili,  not that he'll need much help beating the woeful Ward.

It will be her first match on grass since Wimbledon 2016!

Not playing on grass didnt seem to hurt Collins. Siegemund can play great defense and has a nice BH slice, likes to attack and has power. GL but I'm going the other way on this one.

I also think with the courts playing slower Parmentier is going to play Smashova close and even win. I'm going for the upset! +385

Also think Bouchard is being written off against an overrated Zidansek.

These early rounds it's smarter to parlay favorites but these are just a couple of the upsets that I like. I'm parlaying several pairs, will try and post when I finish organizing them.

Bouchard

Parmentier

Two extremely unpopular plays.

Collins played almost a set last week on grass, and last year reached the third round at Eastbourne and lost to Kerber and Mertens on grass. Slightly better than no matches at all three years.

Hi guys,

Which one of two seems more reliable to you?

Basilashvili to beat Ward?

Kyrgios to beat Jordan?

I feel that both of them will win. I don’t get why so high odds on georgian. Yes, he comes from a 4 loses in row but, still, Ward is 195 ATP.

I'm personally on Thompson due to reasons outlined here. Thompson really isn't that bad and the temperamental nature of Nick will always mean there is a chance for an upset.

What do you think on the second match?

The first option that came to my mind for today is Ons Jabeur to beat P. Kvitova @3,50 uni

Kvitova started to hit the ball only on Saturday after many weeks sidelined with elbow injury. So far it's ok - she doesn't feel pain, but still - it's very short time to get back in form.

She doesn't have big expectations ""The racquet I just [picked up] a few days ago. I couldn't really hit much. If I have a pain, I'm stopping immediately, but so far it's okay."

if it weren't Wimbledon: ""Maybe if it was just a normal week, I [would] take one more extra week [off], but then I think it's fine,"

"We'll see how everything will go. Like now, of course, I'm relaxed. I'm not really happy that I didn't have my best preparation what I could have for the grass season.

"I think from the past I learn a lot about me. Sometimes I don't really have to hit for so many hours to be prepared." - I think that's the only positive for Kvitova's "preparation" for 2019 WImbledon

Ons Jabeur, though missed SF in Eastbourne with ankle injutry, beat Konta (!) and Cornet earlier. So - giving up a SF before the match - I think it was only a precaution before WImbledon and not some serious injury. And her game on grass looks very good, she likes it and I think Kvitova will be in much troubles today.

Thanks @kempazzo for writing that, it's basically the thinking behind my bet on Williams over Kvitova. Jabeur has some issues as well and that's why I preferred that bet over a bet on Jabeur, but I hope that Jabeur can deliver for the sake of us both.

About Basilashvili - I was mightily impressed by him last year and he brought me big profits there, but there have been only shades of him so far in this season. I liked him against Djokovic in Doha, that's where I thought he could repeat some of those 2018 performances, but nothing has happened since then.
