uclratings.jpg

The final round of Champions League group stage game take place next week. The odds and ratings are available to view here. Let's see what you're predicting. Before you do that, what is the state of play in each group?

Group A

Manchester United need a point against CSKA Moscow to top the group. It's going to take a loss and a win for Basel away to Benfica for them to fail to qualify. Whoever misses out from United, CSKA, and Basel will enter the Europa League.

Group B

PSG and Bayern Munich have already qualified for the next phase. Celtic will qualify for the Europa League barring a catastrophic defeat to Anderlecht in their final game.

Group C

Chelsea have qualified for the next round with a game to spare. They need to beat Atletico Madrid to seal top spot. Atletico need to win and hope Roma fail to beat Qarabag. It's a lot to ask! It seems Atletico are looking more likely to advance to the Europa League.

Group D

Barcelona have qualified for the next round and should be joined by Juventus. The Old Lady must equal or better Sporting CP's result when they take on bottom-placed Olympiakos. It's a tall order for Sporting CP who look destined for Europa League action next year.

Group E

It's wide open in this group. Liverpool were on the brink of qualifying but those hopes were scuppered by Sevilla last week. Those two sides and Spartak Moscow will battle for the top two spots with just 3 points separating the three sides. The losing side will advance to the Europa League. Liverpool and Sevilla will certainly be expecting to be favourites to qualify for the next round but who knows what will happen?!

Group F

Manchester City have made light work of this group having already qualified with a 100% record. They will be hoping to carry that on in to the last game. They will be joined by either Shakhtar Donetsk or Napoli. Napoli must beat Feyenood and hope City do them a favour by beating Shakhtar. Otherwise, the Ukrainian side progress and the Italian side are condemned to the Europa League.

Group G

Besiktas have defied the odds to qualify and are looking to finish top of the group. Porto and RB Leipzig will fight it out for the second placed qualification spot. Both teams are tied on the same points but Porto edge it on goal difference. Porto are favourites but it's going to be tight.

Group H

Tottenham and Real Madrid have both qualified for the next round already. Borussia Dortmund and APOEL will still be competing for the Europa League spot.

Right then, let's hear your tips for this final round of group games! :ok

Bayern München vs PSG; 20:45

Bayern will miss goalkeeper Neuer, defender Bernat, midfielder Thiago and winger Robben.

PSG is coming to Germany without injured midfielders Motta and Callegari.

Short preview: As mentioned above, Germans need to win by 4 goals to hit the top, but PSG is the team in form here. Even though they lost their first match in Ligue 1 they will be really hard to beat on matches like this. Bayern will miss creativity of Thiago Alcantara and individual abilities of Arjen Robben, while PSG is coming with the strongest squad. Counters could once again be to big problem for Bayern and I see value on odds above 2,05 for PSG team totals over 1,5.

Why would someone rest players for West Ham? It's true that they lost "only" 2-1 against City, but it's hard to score when someone has 10 players in the box. :) I am pretty sure that they want to be first. Who doesn't. It is also true that Atletico is coming to win. If anything, then they don't know how to play matches like this. They are specialists for knockout phases, specialists for matches against a team who will be in possession, but Chelsea... I think that everyone would suit them better than Chelsea right now.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Conte playing defensively waiting for their chances here.. I think that with this approach they will win this match.

Season is long and 6 clubs are competing for 4 CL-spots (actually more like 5 clubs for 3 spots). That's why I thought that they maybe might rest some players for a London derby away from home. ;)

The home side has limited capabilities, it is not a coincidence without a win and 13 goals passive, Napoli is burning for the victory to wait for the gift from City, I think it will win today
FEYENOORD ROTTERDAM vs SSC NAPOLI @@ SSC NAPOLI, odds 1.33

I do not know Manchester City's mood, but because Napoli is very likely to win Shakhtar needs the grade or points, very good attacking lines have the two teams, it can be an open game with many goals
SHAKHTAR DONETSK vs MANCHESTER CITY @@ +2.50 Over, odds 1.87

Match Time:12/7/2017 03:45 Thursday

Match Analysis
Tottenham was changing of role and beat Borussia Dortmund by 2-1 at away field last month, but they trapped in 3 losses when they were back to ENG PR. They played draw with WBA and Watford, was defeated by Chelsea as away team. Tottenham takes important part on UEFA CL this season. They win goals and odds in 4 games, draw with Real Madrid in 5 finished group games. For away team, APOEL Nicosia got loss alone in recent country games. But in UEFA CL, they got 2D-3L and collected 2 points in the front of 5 group games, are ranked on the last one. There are strengths gaps between CYP D1 and other top Europe league games. Although APOEL Nicosia is top on CYP D1, yet it is tough for them to perform well on UEFA CL.

Odds Analysis:0.92 1.5/2 0.98
According to Nowgoal Big Data, the Asian handicap odds are Tottenham Hotspur -1.5/2, shows that the companies are confident to the gap between both teams. Due to Tottenham Hotspur got 4W-1D in the front of 5 games in UEFA CL group, 3 points more than Real Madrid, even this game ended up with draw, and Real Madrid took all 3 points against Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham can take the qualifier with 1 point as No.1 by taking absolute advantage. APOEL Nicosia lost the qualifier for a long time, they will not do best to this battle against Tottenham. But with the unclear situation of Tottenham's methods, draw will be expected.

O/U Analysis: 1.06 3/3.5 0.82
The main companies are giving odds to 3.25 goals, match the giving odds of Tottenham Hotspur -1.5/2. But it is worthy to mention that Tottenham is drop to No.6 in ENG PR, keeps strength on score in league games. By contrast, APOEL Nicosia was hopeless to continue UEFA CL, so they are unnecessary to get 3 points at away field. The companies are giving odds to under goals 0.82. Generally, under goals will be expected.

Handicap Pick: APOEL Nicosia to win
Over/Under Pick: under 3/3.5 goals
Correct Score Prediction: 1-0 1-1

I know, I didn't mean anything bad, I just expressed my opinion that they will go out to win it and that they won't have problems with Moyes. :)

I've been looking into the Outright market this morning, I think at 7/2 PSG look too short, they've not been beyond the QF in the last 6 seasons and shown that they're not untouchable losing 2-1 Strasbourg at the weekend before going down 3-1 in Munich last night - albeit with top spot in the group all but secured. Similarly I can't be having Man City at 9/2; yes they're flying at the minute but May is 5 months away and they have also shown vulnerabilities in recent weeks needing late goals to see off Huddersfield, Southampton and West Ham and have only 1 semi final appearance to boast of in the past 6 years. I'm liking the look of 3 European powerhouses, 3 teams that are constantly there or thereabouts come the business end of the competition, those 3 teams are Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich; if you was to dutch these teams at best odds pays around 13/8, this looks a rock solid investment to me and one were you would have had atleast 1 runner in the last 9 finals.

Bet

Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich to win the Champions League - 13/8 (Best prices dutched)

@andrewcalo I almost forgot to post it today. :) Thanks for notification. They are in poor form, looking bad, but they are still Monaco.

Porto vs Monaco; 20:45

Porto will miss only midfielder Oliveira.

Monaco is coming in Portugal without defender Raggi, midfielders Lemar, Tielemans, Boschilla, Traore and forward Jovetić.

Short preview: Disastrous season in Champions league for AS Monaco, last seasons big surprise, but regarding the last transfer window it isn’t that crazily surprising.. Jardim will be forced to make some rotations as he has several players out injured. Porto needs more points than Leipzig to qualify for next phase and I think that motivational factor will be the key here. Monaco is still a team with lots of individual qualities, but they look pretty weak lately, so I see Porto as a winner of this match. Coach of Porto Sergio Conceiçāo knows Monaco very well as he was in charge of FC Nantes last season. Even though I think that Porto will finish on second place, I am not sure about them trashing Monaco, who will probably sit deep and try with counters. Result 2-1/1-0 looks pretty possible to me, so I see value on Monaco +1,75 with odds above 1,80.
