Bang on got a reaction from Torque in How someone gets to become "good loser" ?
The key is the amount of points you use for your bank (no matter how big or small your monetary bank). If you use a 10pt bank, 6 losers will stress you out badly and then you will make bad decisions. If you use a 100pt bank and have the same 6 losers, it doesn't seem so stressful.
IF you are on the right track with your selections, you won't worry or stress yourself out about a losing run... they are bound to happen. They wiil come to an end.
I have learnt a lot from Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger, they say that on many days they do NOTHING.... just waiting for the right opportunity to get involved. They watch pitch after pitch go by... and then hit the one in the sweet spot.

Major disappointment last week, dog ran no where near its form. There is a lot of kennel sickness going around the greyhound world and it could be that it has a bug as there are no reports of lameness..
8.24 Sheff - Tp 6 Deadly Expert. (11/10) ... was 6/4 late last night ... likely to go off odds on. ... WON 4-5 s.p.
This looks a real solid selection. It has its favoured trap 6, with the bonus that trap 5 has been withdrawn lame so it has a vacant trap next to it giving it plenty of room to work. For me it is the best dog in the race with a bonus vacant box next to it. It should lead or be up the front from the start.
Can be watched on Sky 175 .. or Freesat 176 .. or online.

Looking at reviving this thread with the occasional selection. Selections will not be every day, and as before will mainly be Sheffield or open races.
    9.18 Sheff - Tp 4 - Make no Apologie (15/8 Ladbrokes, 7/4 general)
The Steel City cup starts tonight and my fancy who I have backed ante-post is Make no Apologie (3rd fav ante-post - 7/1 ..E.W. 1/4 odds 4 places in final).
This is a big step down from last week where he finished 4th to Ice on Fire who is the ante-post fav for the Greyhound Derby. He has the pace to lead up although it is no 'gimme' and hopefully he can win and progress to the semi-finals (1st 3 go through).

    LOI
The 2 I like are St. Pats at home to Cork, and Bohemians at home to newly promoted Shelbourne, the double pays around 11/8.
    N.Ireland
As the odds suggest, Crusaders should win at home to Institute. Institute's last 12 games have been 3 x draws and 9 x defeats with a -25 goal diff.
    Welsh Prem
Becoming a big fan of C.Quay. Bala have had a decent season but C.Q. have won both previous meetings this season (both by the odd goal).
T.N.S. need to win at home to Barry to keep the pressure on C.Q. at the top of the table. I think they will although Barry are fairly solid, there weakness for me is having scored only 12 goals in 11 away games.
The relegation battle between Carmarthen and Airbus should be close but I think Carmarthen can edge it. They have battled well recently(won last 2) and their last 6 games have been 3 x wins, 2 x draws, and 1 defeat. Airbus on the other hand haven't won in their last 14 fixtures.
    My bets
St Patricks Won 1-0 / Bohemians Won 2-0 in a double at around 11/8
    Crusaders/ T.N.S/ Connah's Quay(+draw)/ Carmarthen(+draw) ... a 4 timer at just over 2/1

I'm going for a treble this week at just under 11/10.
Ballymena (lost last 6 games) v LINFIELD (WON 4-1)(Top of league and best team in league) @1.20
GLENTORAN (0-0 draw) @1.22 Solid home form of 10-2-2 (+23 GD) which is excellent home form considering that they lost at home last time to 2nd in league Coleraine. Carrick shouldn't prove too much of an obsticle to getting back to winning ways.
CONNAH'S QUAY (WON 4-0)@1.40 - Home form 8-3-0 (GD+14). They have won 9 of their last 10 home games with the other being a draw against T.N.S so look solid. Caernarfon have lost 5 of their last 6.
    ---------------
Of the other games, Warrenpoint v Institute is a bottom of the table clash, both teams have only scored 20 goals in 28 games, so perhaps a low scoring game but I could not back either team to win. (2-2)
Larne (Won 2-0)(won 5 of last 6) look best away to Dungannon but the skinny odds are no value at all.
Bala are having a good season but T.N.S could prove too strong. (1-1)
Newtown v Barry is a potential draw for me at 3.40.  Newtown are inconsistent, and Barry had a great start to the season but are becoming inconsistent themselves.

Both should really win, and as stated before I think that Linfield are the best team in the league. It's just at 1-8 they do occasionally mess things up.

Just like @Wiltshire ShotI looked at the 3 Welsh cup games,Cefn Druids/Connah's Quay/T.N.S all at home to lower league opposition.
As for Northern Ireland, again there are some very short ones Linfield (Home record 9-2-1), Crusaders (Home record 8-2-3) , as well as Carrick at home to Warrenpoint (Away record 1-1-11).
    So, putting all the short ones together - Cefn Druids(Won 2-0), Connah Quay's(Won 8-0), T.N.S(Won 4-0), Linfield(Won 8-1), Crusaders(Won 2-0), and Carrick(lost 2-1) produces a 6 fold (which is something I never do usually), and pays 1.92/1 which I will play to minimum stakes.

I will post on here rather than starting a new thread so that everyone can get a feel for my selections. I always look out for market moves (% moves) using the racing post 'tissue' as the expected price. I keep track of stables coming into form as best I can, and look for any positives I can find. Just because a horse is backed does not necessarily make it a bet for me, some are just a smokescreen IMO.
The one that interests me today runs in the 7.15 at Newcastle.
    7.15 Newc - Ken's Sam's (best 3/1 but generally 11/4)
It was only beaten a nose over CD a year ago from a 5lb higher mark. Ben Curtis booked to ride. (15/2 - 11/4) [approx 15% move] Irish trainer travelling over.

In reply to @StevieDay1983if I were to get involved I would just marginally favour Cardiff Met Uni. As you say Caernarfon are safe in the top half, and their away form is not as good as at home (W3 D2 L5). The reason I didn't mention them is that the way I see this game is low scoring. Cardiff Met Uni (scored just 8 in 10 home games) and Caernarfon (scored 11 in 10 away games). I would go with the draw at 3.20 if having a bet, although I am more likely to give it a miss.

The one that stands out for me is Ballymena (lost 0-3) at home to Glenavon. Ballymena are not a top side but Glenavon have lost 9 of their 11 away games and this could add another defeat, at odds of 11/10 it looks worth a bet.
Of the Welsh games I fancy TNS (Won 2-1) to win the top of the table clash and may have a small double on them with Barry Town (Won 7-1) to get back on track at home to Carmarthen, the double pays just under 6/4.

Not really worth having a bet for me. The Crusaders/Glentoran double pays 0.63/1 so I will give it a miss despite both being at home to lower league ooposition.

Nothing for me in Northern Ireland, as I have said before Linfield are becoming the top team again and are top of the league despite having played 2 games less. The problem is that at 1/12 away to bottom side Warrenpoint, I can't even put them in an acca at that price.
I have to agree with @StevieDay1983that Newtown are worth a bet at home to Carmarthen. I also looked at Newi CD(Won 2-0) (draw no bet 13/8) at home to Connah's Quay. After a poor start they have won 6 of their last 7 games, whilst Connah's Quay have wavered a bit.
However , my bet is a double on Caernarfon(Won 5-0) and TNS(Won 4-1) that pays around evens. Caernarfon have won their last 6 home games, and TNS are hiiting their stride.

I am not clued up enough on the strength of the Welsh leagues. I do though like teams at home against lower league opposition and from what I can see I would go for a double on Aberystwyth(Won 2-1) and Cefn Druids(Won 2-0). Cefn Druids are in decent form as well so the double that pays 1.67/1 (approx 13/8) is worth a small bet.
I will leave detailed analysis to those who know more than myself about some of the teams involved.

Have to agree with @StevieDay1983 , Caernarfon were my stand out pick, winning their previous 3 home games, 2 of which were against top sides Barry and TNS. Odds against at home with the form to back it up is a definite selection for me. Caernarfon 5/4. Won 2-1
In Northern Ireland, I still think that Linfield are on the up (despite letting me down last week - recovered losses in midweek with a win at 17/20). So, I am going with them again in a double with Coleraine (Top of table away at next to bottom and out of form Institute who have 2 draws and 6 defeats from 8 home games). Linfield/Coleraine double pays 19/20.

Baffled by Newi CD being such a big price when recent form is much improved so will leave alone.
Linfield really are a standing dish for me, if they won their games in hand they would go top and I think the price is fair enough. I will put them in a double with Coleraine, their home form is good , only conceded 3 goals (best in div) although they strangely lost to bottom club Warrenpoint last week. The Linfield/Coleraine double pays 1.18/1 (6/5).
I am also tempted by Cliftonville (Draw no bet) at 10/11 away to Larne. Cliftonville are top of the league and on a hot run of form (won last 6).

I will probably have a treble (All at HOME), Coleraine, Cliftonville, TNS ... pays just above evens (1.05 - 1).
Coleraine - top of the league and won their last 5, Glenavon 3rd bottom and no real form. -  Won 4-0
    Cliftonville - 2nd in league, Warrenpoint lost 13 out of 14. - Won 4-0
TNS - One of the top sides, Carmarthen are bottom of league. - Postponed
    Hopefully 3 good things.

Linfield look a good thing as the odds suggest, I would put them in a double with Coleraine.  Coleraine are top of the league and going well, whilst Dungannon Swifts have lost their last 4 including against bottom side Warrenpoint (Warrenpoints' only points in 13 matches).
Linfield, Coleraine ... in a double pays a bit better than 4/5. (Linfield 2-0, Coleraine 2-0)
I am nowhere near as clued up with the Welsh Prem as some others, but did look at backing Newi CD (draw no bet) at 11/10 away to bottom side Carmarthen who haven't won in a while, whilst Newi CD have won their last 2. (Newi CD 2-1)

Prices very short as usual, my selections would be,
    Cliftonville  and  Dundalk  .... double pays approx 6/5. Dundalk's home form is top class,  P 17, W 15 , D 2 .. F-A 39-8.
    Dundalk 4-0,  Cliftonville 5-0

    Barry Town (17-10)
    Connah's Quay (4-6)
    Coleraine (8-13)
    Ballymena (8-15)
