Every dog has its day

I am looking to put up occasional selections on this thread, around 2-3 per week mainly at Sheffield or open racing.

Tonights selection.

6.22 Sheffield - Tp4 Lostrigg Freddy (6/4 betfred, 11/8 lads, coral, skybet,188, elsewhere 5/4) ... can be viewed on RPGTV (Sky channel 431) or online (google RPGTV).

This is an A2 race. Lostrigg Freddy was better grade (A1) a few months ago. Back from a break he won last time out comfortably (4 1/4 lengths) in this grade. He runs in the same grade again and the make up looks like he will enjoy back to back wins.

WON @ Evens s.p. by 5 1/2 lengths

I have not forgotten about this thread. Was tempted on Tuesday but decided against (lost in photo anyway). I am waiting for a solid selection (probably Friday/Saturday evening).

10.12 Sheffield - Tp3 Fearsome Aria (7/4 Betfred, 13/8 365, 6/4 P.Power) ... again, can be viewed on RPGTV (Sky 431).

A very young puppy having its first ever race would not normally be a selection. However, it has the early pace to lead and in its final qualifying trial was brought to a standstill when another dog fought with her (it got disqualified). If she had a clear run without interference would have gone into a higher grade so this should be easier and can make all.

WON @ 5/4 s.p. by 3/4 length (led early, never really in doubt)

Nicely done @Bang on takes the cash at 5/4 SP. ;)

Looking at reviving this thread with the occasional selection. Selections will not be every day, and as before will mainly be Sheffield or open races.

9.18 Sheff - Tp 4 - Make no Apologie (15/8 Ladbrokes, 7/4 general)

The Steel City cup starts tonight and my fancy who I have backed ante-post is Make no Apologie (3rd fav ante-post - 7/1 ..E.W. 1/4 odds 4 places in final).

This is a big step down from last week where he finished 4th to Ice on Fire who is the ante-post fav for the Greyhound Derby. He has the pace to lead up although it is no 'gimme' and hopefully he can win and progress to the semi-finals (1st 3 go through).

Can be watched live on the new SKY channel 175 (360 live), or online at ... greyhoundbet.racingpost.com ... click on the RPGTV button

Major disappointment last week, dog ran no where near its form. There is a lot of kennel sickness going around the greyhound world and it could be that it has a bug as there are no reports of lameness..

8.24 Sheff - Tp 6 Deadly Expert. (11/10) ... was 6/4 late last night ... likely to go off odds on. ... WON 4-5 s.p.

This looks a real solid selection. It has its favoured trap 6, with the bonus that trap 5 has been withdrawn lame so it has a vacant trap next to it giving it plenty of room to work. For me it is the best dog in the race with a bonus vacant box next to it. It should lead or be up the front from the start.

Can be watched on Sky 175 .. or Freesat 176 .. or online.

Going back to the dog at the start of the thread tonight.

8.29 Sheff - Tp 2 Lostrigg Freddy .. 5/4 general.

Has been dropped in class to A3. He is drawn in Tp2 and the dog in Tp1 is coming back from a spell off so hopefully his race fitness should give him the edge. Some of the other dogs are going up in grade, whilst some struggle to win A3 anyway. For me he is a fairly strong selection.
