7.41 Sheffield - Tp 3 Geelo Celticgold 2/1 (Bet 365) Has been running in open races, this is easier but no gimme. Hoping it can lead the inside runners and go all the way. 9.16 Sheffield - Tp 6 Slide away 9/2 (Bet 365) Don't expect to see this one until late on, this strong runner can reel the leaders in close home. 9.31 Sheffield - Tp 1 Glory Millie 6/4 (Bet 365 + Skybet) The draw can give this one the lead at the bend and shouldn't get caught. Can be viewed on Sky racing (Sky 415) or online.

2 selections for tonight, 6.19 Sheffield - Tp 1 Swift Woof 15/8 (Paddy Power) ... WON 9.31 Sheffield - Tp 3 Ballyboss Con 7/4 (Bet Victor) .... lost 2nd Both should lead early and be tough to catch. Can be viewed on Sky racing (Sky 415) or online.

I have more bets than I post on here. Generally I try to keep an eye out for the prices coming online, however, Sheffield are no longer on RPGTV (still on BAGS)... whch means that the bookmakers tend not to price them up as early. Prices for evening racing used to be available around 12.00, but now are available from around 2 - 3 o'clock. The biggest problem with Greyhounds is getting on, although if you mix them with other sports it is easier.

Kempton : 2.55 - Must be an Angel 7/2 - 1st run for David Loughnane (3 wins 6 placed last 21 runners) 3.55 - Aureum 3/1 - 1st Handicap race, trainer John Gosden is (2 wins 2 placed last 5 runners)
-
Not overly keen on Lingfield Jumpers Bumpers, and Warwick looks difficult, so just left with Wolverhampton AW. WOLV : 4.25 - True Hero 11/8 365 - David Browns horse has been well backed, I am a fan of the trainer whose horses tend to run a few good races when in form and this one won LTO.... 2nd 5-4 (beaten HD) 4.55 - Parallel World 9/2 PP - Another well backed Karl Burke runner, I do like his when backed. Trainer is in good form (6 win 5 placed last 19 runners). .... lost 5.30 - Nate the Great 9/4 - Listed/group placed in the past, this is easier, is running well enough

LINGFIELD : 3.10 - Stopnsearch 15/8 - went close when fav last time, trainer in decent form (1 win 2 placed from last 5) .... 3rd 2-1 3.45 - Garth Rockett 5/2 - CD winner, is there a trainer in better form ? (6 wins 1 placed from last 8 runners) ... 2nd 11-4 WOLV : 5.15 - Soyounique 7/4 - BF last time, trainer who seems to be making a mark recently although only had 1 runner last fortnight.... lost 6.15 - Omany Amber 5/2 - don't usually do selling races, but this has been backed and Karl Burke (5 wins 5 placed last 18 runners) knows the time of day when backing them..

Just 1 selection tonight. Having led but caught near the line last time, this very young pup is expected to go one better tonight. Should get to the front pretty quickly and lead all the way. Again viewing online or Sky 175, Freesat 250 Sheff 6.51 - Tp 3 Magna Boss (5/4 B365 and Skybet) .... Lost Led as expected but got caught near the line.
-
I presume that you are talking about the higher class races rather than all non-hcps. As they are all carrying the same weight (unless penalties, weight for age etc) it seems wise to focus on the top 4 or 5 rated.

We did OK on Saturday before the meeting was abandoned as the track froze. Did have 1 selection for tonight but it is now no value (has been backed). It was very unlucky last week getting 'mugged' on the line, should go one better tonight. It is in trap 2 with a moderate starter in trap 1 so should get a nice run early. Again viewing online or Sky 175, Freesat 250 Sheff 9.01 - Tp 2 Lightfoot Root (8/11 B365 and Skybet) .... WON 4-6
-
Last selection went lame and hasn't raced since. Tonight a few of interest, all at Sheffield. 6.51 Tp 6 - Exciting Coco (7/4 B365) - Leniently treated by handicapper, running in a lower grade than usual (usually wins in this grade)... LOST 7.41 Tp 3 Dolla Rosie (11/8 Skybet) - Downgraded from A2 to A3, should be better than these.... WON 13-8 8.46 Tp 1 Emoskis Girl (10/11 B365) - Has its favoured trap 1 draw, should lead early over the extended distance, and prove hard to catch...... WON 8-13 9.45 Tp 6 The Other Rex (2/1 Skybet) - Been off for quite a while, but used

What to Look for When Betting on Greyhounds?
Bang on replied to alexcaruso808's topic in At The Dogs
The best grade is A1, just like football etc. There is a better class than A1, that is called Open race class (OR on race card), although you are probably best sticking with the 'graded racing' for starters. -
What to Look for When Betting on Greyhounds?
Bang on replied to alexcaruso808's topic in At The Dogs
I look for dogs going either up or down the grades. Dogs dropping down (eg: A5 down to A6 ) will be running against lesser opposition. Obviously going up a grade will be against better opposition. Another tip is to look for improving pups (pups are classed as under 2 years old), pups will often win more than their share when the penny drops and they start to improve significantly. Hope this helps.
