  1. 4 qualifiers today, you wait a few days and then 4 come along at once. 1.10 Nmkt - North Lincoln - 11/8 1.40 Nmkt - Dashing Dick - 9/4 7.20 Ham - Farhan - 11/10 8.55 Ham - Stronsay - 5/2
  2. A disappointing day, fortunately only small stakes. Dream by Day - lost 4th- Drifted out to 9/1 so alarm bells, went off a bit quick in the 1st time blinkers, wouldn't rule out this one winning in the not too distant though. Bolt of thunder - lost - weakened late on, again would keep on the right side of this one in next couple of runs. Kitsune Power - lost 2nd - not given the best ride IMO, out the back, rallied to contend and then beaten late on.
  3. Yet again NO DEFINITE selections with my selection process. However, again we have 1 selection that missed out marginally and a couple of others from something that has been doing well for me. 4.18 Sals - Dream by Day - 5/1 - Wears blinkers for the 1st time and this can hopefully make the difference. At the price I was tempted EW but will go for win at small stakes. 4.50 Nmkt - Bolt of Thunder - 5/2 - This Andrew Balding 2yo should beneft for having had a run, and his 2yo runners often improve quite a bit. 8.20 Nmkt - Kitsune Power - 9/4 - Won LTO and now steps up from 7f to 1 mile and can hopefully go in again.
  4. Gaassee - WON 7/4 Release the Kraken - lost Pammi - WON 11/4 Sister and Brother - WON 4/1 A good day with 3 winners from 4 at fair prices giving +7.5pts to level 1pt stakes... ***** I hope some here were on the last one at 4/1 for Milton Harris with the reason for the selection proving sound.
  5. NO DEFINITE selections again today from my selection process. However, there are 2 borderline bets (failed by the minimum margin on 1 rule I have), and a couple from something else that has been working well for me but still early days, so SMALL stakes only. 1.50 York - Gaassee - 7/4 6.40 Perth - Release the Kraken - 9/4 7.40 Perth - Pammi - 11/4 8.00 Bath - Sister and Brother - 5/2 - First run for Milton Harris since leaving Mick Channon, a step up in trainer IMO.
  6. NO Qualifiers for my selection process today, may be back with something a bit later.
  7. Aquamas - WON 2/1 Tomouh - lost - drifted badly late on and ran like it.
  8. If you are doing each way doubles, there is also the chance that all bets could return some kind of profit via 2 placed selections.
  9. 2 selections today, 3.20 Muss - Aquamas - 7/4 6.10 Wind - Tomouh - 2/1
  10. Vintage Fizz - WON 15/8 Out from under - lost Dolly Dancer - lost - ran well enough - led until late on and then faded badly - would expect her to win sooner rather than later so may be one to follow. Small loss on the 3 selections.
  11. Wow, 7 meetings again, too much IMO. My selection process has thrown up just 2 selections. 3.05 Hex - Vintage Fizz - 15/8 5.18 Hay - Out from Under - 11/8 I have also had an Each Way bet on 4.50 Hex - Dolly Dancer - 15/2 EW (365 B.O.G.) 1/5 3 places - Was heavily backed a week ago, and Unseated at the very 1st fence. Is 9lb lower than for her CD win last May.
  12. Another race type that I rarely bet in, I treat them similar to handicaps so go ahead. The reason IMO is, that you can get the craved for (by breeders) 'black type' in a listed race. BUT, listed races are not as hot as Group races, and sometimes a top handicapper can win. As you say, "a lot of listed hot pots seem to fail at short odds". The only advice I would give is to look closely at jockey bookings and trainers in form before deciding to lay a runner (of any race type). Maiden races are full of horses trying to do something they haven't done before - win, so could be a possible non handicap lay, but again, take a look at trainers course form, recent form, jockey bookings etc. Good luck.
  13. Saga - lost Roach Power - 2nd Phantasy Mac - WON 6/4 Wots the Wifi Code - 3rd Be Fair - WON 10/3 Mixed bag and a small profit again. Disappointing ride from the 7lb claiming jockey on 'wots the wifi code', but a lovely ride from Hollie Doyle on 'Be Fair' who justified being in my 'to follow' list.
  14. A busy day, lots more to get through but my selection process has thrown up 4 selections. All prices are bet365 B.O.G. as most people tend to have this type of account, there are slightly better odds sometimes if you shop around. Prices are at time of posting and not necessarily the prices I have taken. All selections have been backed by myself(Just for info). 4.00 Asc - Saga 5/4 5.45 Ripon - Roach Power 13/8 6.40 Nott - Phantasy Mac - 6/4 7.45 Ripon - Wots the Wifi Code - 11/4 I have also had a bet on 7.26 Wolv - Be Fair - 10/3 - This horse was on my 'to follow' list as it is edging down the weights and looks a winner in waiting some time soon.
  15. The non runner was the trainers other horse, and the horse Malina Jamila was a non runner the day before so of the 2 entries this looked best for them, as it proved. I wouldn't stop you from laying short ones but handicap 'good things' rather than non handicaps may be better. I rarely bet in maidens, as they are all trying to do something that they have never done before - Win. There can be many plots and sub plots in there.
