  1. 9.00 Bev - Cakewalk - 5/2 (Hills) - Just 3 runs, and now tries a handicap for the 1st time. Trainer Simon Crisford sends just this 1 runner to Beverley where he has a 38% strike rate ( 3 winners from 8 runners ) in the last 5 years. Not shown much yet but may find improvement in a handicap 1st time.
  2. 3.50 M.Ras - Post no Bills - 12/1 EW (1/5th 4 places) - Has been dropping in the weights ( -12lbs in 5 runs) and has won from 9lbs higher within the last year. Sean Bowen rides for Ryan Potter who is 1 win, 1 place, from 4 runners in last 2 weeks. At 12/1 and with 4 places with most bookmakers it looks a solid EW bet. 4.00 Cart - Vocal Duke - 16/1 EW (1/5th 4 places) - Course specialists Charlotte Jones and James Moffit team up for this ( as usual). Last win was over 2 years ago and that was off 111 ( today 105). Again, with 4 places looks worth a bet. Maybe more later.
  3. Dynamite Katie - 2nd Rain Cap - lost - never really got involved.
  4. Lots of interest today, some at EW prices. Not sure if I'll be backing everything but these are worth a second look. 3.00 Chep - Dynamite Katie - 5/1 ( has been much bigger). Was rated 31lbs higher when moving to this yard a year ago. Last 2 runs has made the running and then weakened - but has won over the distance, maybe today ? 2.50 Ham - Rain Cap - 7/1 - won this race in 2022, and was runner up last year.
  5. Just put this one up early. Put it in my tracker after Saturday's disappointment with the comments - " well handicapped, apprentice jock couldn't get to settle and cost any chance, look for a pro jockey riding". Well today Clifford Lee takes over and it has been 'nibbled' in the betting. 4.55 Ham Sycamore Gap - 8/1 with 365 (who are paying 3 places) .. so have had a good EW bet. May be others later but this one up early.
  6. A few of interest today ( lost 1 with Newton Abbot abandoned ). 2.53 Ayr - Young Fire 10/3 generally (7/2 Hills) - Runs from a very low mark. 4 x distance winner, and today runs in a class 6 off 63 ( won a class 4 off 81 last Aug) - surely can't be long before winning. 3.28 Ayr - Aberama Gold 6/1 with 365, Power - Same ownership as Young Fire - and again falling in the weights. Runs in a class 3 off 90 today, and won a class 2 off 96 last year ( has won from as high as 101). Has won on all types of going and is a CD x 2 (distance x 8 ). 7.10 Wolv - Scarfo 2/1 with 365 - Only had 5 races - 4 poor ones before winning after switching to CD last time out. Today is a classified race, and so runs off 1lb lower just a week after a CD win. 7.40 Wolv - Almudena 5/2 with a few - Cheekpieces go back on after a run of 4th places. Top course jockey Luke Morris rides, and after just 6 starts, and edging down the weights, can be another winner for Sir Mark Prescott ( 7 winners from 14 runners in last 2 weeks).
  7. Gainsbourg - WON 8/1 - 🤑 Sycamore Gap - lost - never settled for apprentice jockey. Not beaten that far, and I will give another chance - especially if a pro jockey rides.
  8. Playing late tonight. 8.00 Ham - Gainsbourg - 7/1 (365, Hills) - Hasn't won since last July, but looks very well handicapped on that winning form (officially rated 66 but won from low 70's). Is a CD winner as well and trainer D.Bourke is 2 winners from last 3 runners. Cheekpieces return tonight. 9.00 Ham - Sycamore Gap - 9/2 generally (5/1 Hills) - Has dropped to a career low mark. Negative is still a maiden after 9 races, but wears cheekpieces for 1st time and has dropped 10lbs in last 5 runs.
  9. Have you tried www.gbgb.org.uk Hover over racing and a drop down appears with results. You can then search from there.
  10. A) - 2.30 Fake - Georgi Girl - 6/4 7.00 Chelm - Agostino - 15/8
  11. @Zilzalian An excellent year for you, but I do see where you are coming from. @harry_rag I also feel like I am not maximising the returns for the time put in. I think it is what gets you down, not so much the ROI, but more the returns for time/hours spent trying to make a decent profit. It is not something that can be done in a spare ten minutes.
  12. A) - 8.00 Wolv - The Thames Boatman - 5/2 ----------- B) - 7.30 Wolv - Ultramarine - 7/2
  13. Yes, both were awful, I would look out especially for Connected with a better draw. It was drawn out widest in 12 ... but then again, the winner was drawn 11.
