Just Wolverhampton on the AW today, a few of interest but took a while to nail my colours. Daily NAP 7.00 Wolv - Tiger Crusade - 9/4 with 365 (2/1 generally) - Finished 3rd 20 days ago. Trainer D.Simcock has had 9 runners in the last couple of weeks without a winner, but has had 4 placed so not far away. Top course jockey Luke Morris rides. The selection is 13lbs lower than for its last win, and this is the first time it has run at this low a level. Daily EW 8.00 Wolv - Artificer - 10/1 (3 places generally .. is 9/1 4 places with Skybet .. and 11/1 with PP 3pl). Don't know much about the trainer, but he is 14% here so not awful, importantly he does better with 4yo+ which this is. Has run in 3 handicaps without success, but has dropped 10lbs because of this. Favourite Pessoa looks tough to beat (8lbs down), but the selection is well drawn, and for me should place, and possibly win, at the price EW it is.7 points

Lucija Ciric Bagaric to beat Mirjam Bjorklund at 2.20 with Bet365 This feels a bit nonsensical to me. Parks beat herself against Bjorklund, and the latter was serving poorly throughout the match. Ciric Bagaric is not going to be as lackluster as Parks, and I think that she should actually be the favorite here, not Bjorklund.4 points -

Morning all. No UK jumps so some reserve French action at Cagnes Sur Mer for me today. Looking forward to assessing the weights for the big ITV races (if they go ahead) on the weekend later. If any early value grabs me will post up on the ante post selections thread, best of luck to everyone playing on the UK racing today.4 points -

We start up again for 2025 with a Punters Lounge £150 added Poker League for January which will run over the next 4 weeks on Wednesday nights. The £150 added by Punters Lounge is shared between the top 3 in the league at the end of the month. Games start at 8.10pm, with a 20min late registration period on top of this, however players are encouraged to register for the start time to ensure there are sufficient players for the games to run. All games are played in the PokerStars Home Games PL Poker Club. The format is a NLHE 3000 chip tourney in Legs 1 & 2 and a 5000 chip NLHE for final leg. Leg 3 is our PLO Leg with 5000 chips. > Leg 1 : Wednesday 8th January at 20.10 GMT in the PL Poker Club Home Game - NLHE 3000 chips > Leg 2 : Wednesday 15th January - NLHE 3000 chips > Leg 3 : Wednesday 22nd January - PLO 5000 chips > Leg 4 : Wednesday 29th January - NLHE 5000 chips - (double entrants in points formula)** Buy in is $5.50 per leg. Your top 3 scores of the 4 legs will count towards your league total. We will be using the usual PL poker league format, which will be updated in this thread. (The PokerStars own league scores will not be used.) Formula is -Log(position/Entrants)x100 To help boost numbers overall and in particular in the final leg we are continuing the system of doubling the number of entries used in the calculation in leg 4 (**so if 10 entries the formula will use 20 entrants). This will increase the number of points available in the final leg to make it more competitive. All members are welcome, however you must post in this thread if asked to let us know your forum username, otherwise your placings and scores cannot be included in the league. New players are always welcome to join in, so please spread the word and invite your friends to the forum so we can keep the weekly numbers up and remain viable. £150 Added Value & Punters Lounge Merchandise The £150 added will be split between the top 3 players of the league end, with £75 to the league champion, £45 to 2nd and £30 to 3rd. This will be payable via PayPal at the end of the league. Big thank you to Punters Lounge for the added funds. The league winner will also get Punters Lounge merchandise, which consists of our logo mug and pack of 10 pens. Unfortunately due to supplier shipping restrictions we may be unable to provide these to members who live outside of the UK. To join the PokerStars PL Home Games Club: club id = 744199 password = PLPokerClub We also have a PL Poker Club Facebook group where regular reminders are also posted. Please request to join. https://www.facebook.com/groups/524375907722928/ Good luck! League Table3 points

Had a quick look. Can I suggest you enter the odds as decimals in future, e.g. 13/2 = 7.5. Entered as text it's impossible to crunch them as they aren't numbers! Luckily, you found so few winners between you that it didn't take me too long to type in the odds! 😁 I make it that there were 221 Lucky 15s and 879 selections with 5 non-runners. There was 1 with 3 winners, 17 with 2 and 65 with 1 (one with a NR). The average odds for the 102 winning selections were 8.09 and the return to £1 level stakes was £825.30 for a loss of £53.70 with an ROI of -6.11%. With that you were perhaps slightly unlucky not to break even or make a small total profit with the aid of the bonus. Maybe you were due another treble! (The loss on the L15s was more like -21%) Not a bad collective performance given the obligation to stick to the AW which probably made the job harder for some. The results for 221 L15s will be hugely impacted by short term luck but the returns from 879 singles gives you the better idea of your performance over the same time period, which is why I keep banging the drum for recording the returns to that level of detail.3 points

Well I'm liking 2025 so far based on the goalscorer results! Not sure I can claim much credit for making a profit as blindly backing all 99 players in my data sample so far would have made 16.54 points with an ROI of 16.71%. As the average monthly return from the whole sample is around -4.5% and the best ever is less than +6% I think we can say that's just a nice bit of positive variance to start the year. My actual ROI so far is 49.34% which is obviously very welcome but unsustainable. A bit too early to attribute any credit to the new approach though it has had the desired effect of reducing the bet volume by around 25%. Hopefully the quality over quantity element will manifest itself as the bet volume increases.3 points

done a single on Isak to score at 9'4 don't normally do goal scorer bets but I can't come up with anything else tonight and wanted an interest in the TV match oh, I've got a double on Genk and Brugge in the Belgian Cup ...... just under 2/12 points

Hello all. I usually hang out on a football forum where there's an active horse racing thread with some very decent tipsters on it. One of them pointed me over here. I'm an old git who has loved horse racing ever since I sat in front of the telly on Saturday afternoons aged 8. I generally do low stakes e/w multis, and occasionally overthink novice / maiden races. I've got a stake in a couple of Owners Group horses.2 points -

Interesting. Kostyk just folded up, and Kalinskaya retired. Kalinskaya untouchable with her injury. SHe won 7 points out of 30 returning the ball, and started the match losing 12 straight points against Bencic's serve. Kalinskaya will prob play Aussie open (to get her money), but she won't go past the 1st round. Mertens chose to play Hobart (WTA 250) instead of Adelaide (WTA 500). It suggests that she wishes to use the tournament as a practice warmup, instead of possibly meeting a much stronger opponent (in Adelaide) earlier. Also suggests she is undercooked. Parriz-Diaz has been playing plenty of matches, winning 5 of 6. Only issue has been her serving (WYA website she holds on average 50% which is low), but she has put in the work and it seems to be much better (if you go to flashscore, and click a match, you can get stats). vs Rus (12/15 75%) vs Appleton (13/15 87%) vs Ito (1/8 12%) 🤢 vs Selekhmetova (8/9 89%) vs Saito (8/9 89%) vs Fett (10/16 63%) These numbers are atypical for her, suggesting she has confidence and has worked hard on the serve. I think she can win here against an undercooked Mertens. Will go with a small bet and may be tempted to lump some on if Mertens starts badly.2 points -
Sorry I shut down for Christmas and completely forgot we hadn't wrapped up 🎁 the final results of the league. Well done to Paul who made it a third win over the extended period and deservedly takes the champion's crown. Leo with one win and three 2nds takes the league 2nd spot, Andy also with three 2nds along with a third maintained his 3rd place overall, and Stephen keeps the 4th spot with a win and two 3rd place finishes. All four managed to play all of the 6 legs, so thank you for your endurance. Will request the payments for you November/December League Winners 1st @muttley £75 (+ PL Mug and Pens) 2nd @LIKE2FISH £45 3rd @andybell666 £30 4th @McG £25 Thank you to everyone who has joined in the league games over the year, your support is really appreciated. Our numbers are dwindling so open to suggestions how we can encourage more to play. We mused a bit about start times and late reg but didn't reach a consensus. On the basis we missed a couple of months during the year (so technically I'm under budget!) I'm going to go ahead and start up the January league as normal, but I need to go negotiate 2025 with the boss to see on what basis we continue.2 points

on the very rare occasion I do a goal scorer bet it's always 'anytime' otherwise your bet could be over after two minutes if some other so-and-so scores .... at least with anytime you have the full 90 plus minutes (unless substituted) I'd only ever do these bets on the rare occasion when I can't make my mind up which team to back, the game is on Freeview telly, and I want something to watch out for during the match1 point

Hang on a minute, you're the one ploughing your own furrow here! I'm fine with 13/2 in "old money" and 7.5 as decimal odds (and best for analysis with a spreadsheet). But, if I recall correctly, you were stating 6.5 as opposed to either of those two and not making it clear that you meant 6.5/1! The only issue with Zil's spreadsheet was that the odds were quoted as text so couldn't be used for analysis.1 point

Personally I reckon it should be entirely criteria-based. Doing it this way means somebody is bound to grumble because it's subjective. I said I didn't think Cross should be there and I stand by that, but at least if there's objective criteria then players and fans know where they stand and there's nothing really to be said. Having said all that though, darts does seem to do things its own way - like the way matches are very often in reality decided by who happens to be throwing first in a match.1 point

I've had loads of accounts throughout the years & there's a good reason why I don't use them anymore despite some betbright for one going out of business & I won't ever bother opening anymore online ones & I'll just do what I did nearly 50 years ago & put a bet on in a bookies on a weekday or Sunday morning & then a bit of food shopping across the road , I'll still use bet365 for my US bets on Saturday which I actually enjoy watching their racing more than UK racing nowadays & the amount of UK jockeys & ex UK racehorses it's like home from home anyway .1 point -
