  1. Giovanni Perricard to beat Jakub Mensik @estimated 1.91 odds with STN With the new World odds authority shake down in effect.. I will try to post most plays in robot odds for the super society civilized folks of the old world. I only have some trouble converting the favorite prices but I can get close. Anyhow.. I placed the bet last night at these odds, and they may have changed but couldn't have moved all that much.. I'm very confident in the bet. Perricard's serve is just too big to contend with, and he is confident playing great with alot of time adjusting to the brisbane conditions which play like indoors courts even though they never list this tournament indoors.. Looks like there is a roof on every court which is also funny.. I've always loved this tournament for some reason. Mensik is a player that I also respect, and he's usually decent to back him as an underdog.. There is a squadron of young Czech players that are very impressive to me.. Particularly the Fruhvirtova sisters, Lehecka, Mensik, and I guess we shall add Noskova even though she looked a bit out of shape last match.. There is some others I probably missed but Vondrousova is only 25. Problem with Mensik in this match for me is that he's not going to be able to deal with Gio's serve in my opinion, and then there's going to be a couple of chances on his own serve which is not nearly as large. Tiafoe was playing great in my opinion, and Perricard just met him at every challenge with a quiet confidence. @harry_rag 😁@CzechPunter@The Rainmaker. Rain - this one don't qualify with your odds requirement, but I imagine it's going to be a banger, and in my opinion Mensik will need a superhuman performance.. He has some arm troubles last year, and I don't know his current status, but I have no concern with the health of Perricard.. knock on wood! Good luck fellas

  3. Bet on the flat for years Mclarke my friend and it all changed for me a few years ago. Money was low and had a bit of a make or break Cheltenham which ended up fairly profitable. For some reason had always concentrated on flat racing and only occasionally bet the jumps in the winter/early spring when it was the main. After that Cheltenham started to concentrate fully on National Hunt in the UK (and occasionally France) and found that was where I could make money. Only wish I had done it from day one of my betting life. Please don't think I have anything against flat racing or anyone who chooses to bet on it, it is only now my personal preference and I do not mean any disrespect to anyone.

  6. Kudermetova vs Kalinina Over 2.5 Sets +135 Niemeier vs Cirstea Under 21.5 -110 Pavlyuchenkova -2 games -118 vs Siegemund Easy analysis for this trio of affairs... First of all, I expect an epic 3-set affair between Kudermetova and Kalinina. Polina is playing lights out in this event to this point, and she doesn't look like she'll fade despite the time on the court. Secondly, Jule and Sorana? You stink! No, you stink! No no no, YOU STINK!! Ok, fine I stink but YOU STINK TOO!!! 💋 I expect one of them to fold after losing the first set because either of them can fold in an instant! And last, Pavs is going to either produce a monster 2025 campaign or I will just have to eat my words! Opening the season ranked 30th should inspire a deep run to open 2025 and we all know that Siegemund is schlep!

  8. I am on NICE in France tonight at 6-5. They are very good value IMO. They are home to Rennes Nice at Home are 4-3-0 Goals 18-7 Rennes away are 0-1-6 Goals 4-15 Combined it gives 10-4-1 (66% chance of a home win) and a Goals for/against of 33-11 ..... enough to tempt me at 6/5 odds for the home side.

  10. No problem. I used to do very well over the jumps and ignored the AW as I considered it low grade racing for the benefit of the bookies. But my jumps results deteriorated and I had a go at the AW and found it very profitable. I've started using speed figures over the jumps, perhaps this will reignite my love with NH racing.

  11. Agree WW , think it's great that we seem to have a wide variety of opinions on how to make the game pay and we're all big and ugly enough to decide whether to follow others or not. Reckon that's the best thing about this forum in that everyone is encouraged to throw their personal strategies into the mix , it's good to exchange views.

  13. Im going to go real simple this year- i will blindly back 4 players, Zalatoris, Niemann, Hovland and Aberg to small stakes at the start of most of the tournaments then reassess each bet after two rounds to stick, increase or drop. The majors i will treat the same but maybe add on 2 players that i think are good value.

Littler is unstoppable. MVG is playing well aside from his doubling, but Littler is lethal with his finishes particularly on his trusty double ten. Immense from the young lad, MVG not getting a look in so far, he's getting mauled by the youngster. Astonishing display.

  15. Hopefully third time lucky for me taking on Coventry City recently. An away trip to Norwich isn't the ideal way to finish off a period of 5 games since the 21st Dec, and there will be some tired legs all round by the end of the game. Norwich aren't the finished article but could be playing themselves into some form. I think Coventry will be there for the taking being knackered and low on confidence after failing to beat 10 man Cardiff. 3 points win Norwich (7/5 Bet365) P/L: -5.2pts Norwich were woeful but a rare bit of luck for me with 2 goals in injury time to turn it around 😲

  16. I'm focusing mainly on the WTA side of things as always, and I haven't seen any of the men's United Cup action, so I'm not going to comment just for the sake of it. But certainly I wouldn't be comfortable backing Hurkacz at such short odds given what's at stake (nothing).

  21. Good morning all. Three out of four selections returned each way money in France yesterday but sadly unable to hit the net with one so again just a small return made. This did though include an 8/1 that let the winner get 20 lengths ahead before being beaten a neck! (what do these jockeys play at sometimes!) Was not going to put anything up today but again I am losing the battle with a potentially very boring day ahead otherwise. A couple of selections made today are what I always term as OTB selections which basically stands for "outside the box" picks and are not what I would normally put up as a selection. Generally they are horses that I feel might be on a fair enough mark but need to improve their form on their last run (normally would not back a horse not in recent form). Be warned they are next best picks at best: Musselburgh 12.27 TOROSAY (otb) @ 4/1 (Will Hill) Musselburgh 1.27 CARDAMON HILL (otb) @ 4/1 (Will Hill) Musselburgh 2.57 CHAPEL GREEN @ 10/3 (B365 / Will Hill) Best of luck to everyone today.

  22. Welcome to 2025 everyone! Apologies for a couple of rounds without updates. I was away for the Christmas break but I am back now and the updates will be back on track! @patriciamarc is back on top after huge pressure coming from the experienced @Team Sagga over the festive period. Excitement levels are on another scale with Lucas FC now only holding a 5-point lead over three teams who are tied for 2nd place in the form of Team Sagga, @Trimble89's Yamal Sells Avon, and @dwikyeddo's Cyber Tech FC. It was a big scoring week this round with a number of teams surpassing the glorious 100-point mark. @tilzonja's Kostolomac Team, @Chris Gumbley's High Flying Bantams, and Aleksandar Karafiloski's Vidobista team all breached the century landmark but didn't quite do enough to hit the highest team score of the week. That accolade went to Peter Ologbenia's Bizza FC who earned 105 points for the round. An impressive tally looking even more so given three players failed to get more than 2 points in the starting XI and no tokens were used either! At the other end of the table, normality resumed, and the nightmare campaign for Andy Elliot's Andellio continued. Just 12 points for the bottom-placed club this week. It could have been even more embarrassing had Fabian Schar not scrounged 5 points off his own back. The team in 126th position are now 272 points behind their nearest rivals and the wooden spoon is looking firmly set for just one destination right now as we reach the halfway stage of the campaign. The transfer deadline for week 20 matches is 11am UK time on Saturday 4th January. All the best to everyone! Will we have a new leader at the top of the table come next week?

  26. Football results are still having a jolly good laugh at us and it looked like we were going to dip into a single figure win week until Division 5 saved the day and we came home with a total of 12. Half of those were odds-on wins but @Paperclip single-handedly halved our total loss with an outstanding 41.3 draw treble, made even more amazing as Exeter were 3 goals down at half time! Just 16 of us in profit with @Paperclip up top with a £300 margin and @daisychain on 3 out of 3 wins. Let's hope 2025 improves our luck!

  27. A winner today brings a profit of 4.80. This makes my RC P/L incl L15's = 10.24 profit. My L15's balance remains at -.05 Whilst I realise I will need to make at least 15 entries for the Naps comp which means I will probably need to try and find a winner more than every other day to qualify for a prize, I will take a day off tomorrow and hopefully have more choice and PL info to look at on Saturday

  31. That’s what’s going on in the Premier League this weekend. There’s pretty much a full programme in terms of the UK though most of the National League teams are in FA Trophy action. It’s cup games in Spain barring a single La Liga game tonight, 7 Serie A games and a Super Cup semi in Italy, 8 Ligue 1 games and the Super Cup in France but a break for Germany. Portugal and Turkey are among the other countries with fixtures. So, unless, you’re a Bundesliga specialist, nothing to grumble about! Let’s see if we can sort a few winners out between us.

    Gooner’s 300.

Yes I forget that some of the top scores on the table will have had many bets below 1.01 but it’s definitely possible, just maybe not at the rate I go at it at! I will throw in a few higher odds at the beginning but if I get to around 100 or so then will start being more selective with my bets and most will then be around 1.01. Good luck with the rest of your challenge, be interesting to see how far you can push it.

  40. I'm also playing Wei to beat Waltert at 1.80 with Bet365 after watching Wei's previous round match. She should put Waltert under enough pressure, plenty of strength and I think she has a lot of talent, I already liked her at the end of the previous season in a couple of matches. Meanwhile, Eala has just lost the first set with even statistics, damn, fingers crossed for a comeback there!

  43. Alexandra Eala to beat Taylah Preston at 1.61 with Bet365 Eala hasn't broken through just yet, and the expectations now seem to be lower than ever. Her serve is still an issue, and there are plenty of problems in her game, but she's still a class above Preston, which is confirmed by the 2-0 H2H record between the two. Eala looked legit to me against Hartono as well.

  45. New Year, new rules to simplify things for everyone. No more posting bets in US odds format. Also, no more posting in those “European” decimal odds. Long overdue post Brexit, all bets must be posted in fractional odds. Let’s revel in the glory of 5/2, 13/8, 85/40 etc. etc. the more fiddly the better! For the avoidance of doubt, I’m kidding but you raise a fair point that sometimes crosses my mind. My take has been that I’m not personally keen on the US odds format as it’s not “native” to my mindset and I have to do a conversion. The positive odds are easy enough, the amount is what 100 points would win you so +350 is 4.5. Just add 100 and divide by 100 but it’s easy enough to do “visually”. The negative odds are less intuitive, as it’s what you’d have to risk to win 100 points. -110 is effectively 100/110 or 1.909. Personally I’d prefer bets to be stated using decimal or fractional odds as that is what the majority of forum members “speak”, so if you’re a “bilingual” punter please post that way if it’s no extra effort. But I think it’s reasonable enough for someone who only relates to US odds to post that way rather than be obliged to convert them for our benefit and better to have them post their bets that way than not post at all. Of course, some readers may choose to ignore their contributions if they don’t feel inclined to do the conversion process. Only my view of course. @CzechPunter may be at the end of his tether with the practice and be about to issue a 3 strikes and you’re out edict as part of his new year resolution to impose order and discipline on the tennis forum!

  48. Hello Punters Lounge members, We wanted to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! As 2024 draws to a close, it gives us a chance to reflect on what has been a very positive year for the Punters Lounge Forum. This year, several changes have been implemented to the forum. The restructuring of the forum itself was the biggest noticeable alteration with a more streamlined layout of the topic areas improving the navigation experience for you all. Adding @Torque as a moderator has boosted our efforts to improve engagement across the forum. Alongside @harry_rag, the two veteran members have created, encouraged, and moderated content across many areas which has benefited the site as a whole. A Responsible Gambling forum has been added as we have looked to offer a safe space for people who feel they want to talk about any gambling-related issues they may have. It has already played a role in allowing that to happen. New members can now take advantage of a more helpful 'Introduce Yourself' section that includes an FAQ section and Forum Guidelines. If you aren’t sure where to start with Punters Lounge then head on over to that area. The forum has celebrated the return of the PL Oscars. Congratulations to the legendary @richard-westwood for being voted the Forum MVP! A special shout-out to all those who won their respective categories and were also nominated. We want to give a big thank you to everyone who played their part and voted.
