StevieDay1983
Getafe vs Celta Vigo The La Liga games offer a tricky set of fixtures this week with the odds not exactly being kind to us but one match I've seen as too tempting to ignore is the clash between Champions League chasing Getafe and relegation threatened Celta Vigo that is scheduled to kick-off at 8pm GMT on Saturday night at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez. Is anything but a home win likely? Getafe are having a season to remember. Manager Jose Bordalas is exceeding expectations in ways nobody could foresee with the club sitting in 4th in the league table and currently on course to qualify for Europe's elite competition next season. An incredible defensive unit that has kept 11 clean sheets this season has been key to their success so far and with 5 wins from their last 7 league games it seems that they are showing no signs of falling away. Back-to-back defeats to Barcelona and Sevilla were quickly forgotten last week with the battling 1-0 win away to Mallorca. A win here would put them well and truly back on track to gain some momentum heading into the final stages of the campaign. Celta Vigo fans aren't quite having it as good as their opposition's supporters so far this season. Head coach Oscar Garcia came in back at the start of November and results have improved. However, with the club still firmly in a relegation fight in 17th position and just 3 points outside the drop zone it seems that the club still isn't picking up enough wins to pull away from the danger area. Just 1 loss in their last 8 league games makes for positive reading on the stats front but then it can also be seen that they've only bagged 3 points from their last 6 away league games. I have a funny feeling that this game isn't going to be a pretty one to watch. Celta Vigo are fully aware of their situation and avoiding defeat is the prime objective in every game. Unfortunately, 7 draws from their last 12 league games hasn't rescued them yet so they need more wins. Getafe will play this game patiently knowing they can sucker punch their opponents if they try to attack. I can see the odd goal separating these two and if I had to back one side to win it I'd back the home side.
