Well, missed the net unfortunately again in France with one hitting the post (not close) and the other missing by an even margin wider. Safe to say le francais picks not going well at the moment but your next winner may always be just around the corner and will definitely be looking at Cagnes Sur Mer later (looks a decent meeting tomorrow in France). Anyway hoping there will be UK fayre to concentrate on instead tomorrow and have had a closer look at the big race in Ireland tomorrow, the grade one Lawlors Of Naas novice hurdle. Lap of the gods whether as with Plumpton and Chepstow it goes ahead but if it does I have taken a real shot in the dark with one of Willie Mullins four darts that he may throw at the race. The best form in the contest comes from Gordon Elliot's The Yellow Clay and Mullins main hope on paper is obviously Jasmin De Vaux (Townend on board). There are other interesting contenders also in Butch Cassidy and Shuffle The Deck and even then may not have still mentioned the winner in what might be a more open contest than you at first would think. I am hoping that could be possible with one of Mullins "second string" namely Spasiba who although not shining on the flat has performed well enough in it's two hurdle runs to date. Beaten by Joyou De Thaix not far when giving weight and comfortably beating Beaufort's Storm last time out when giving a fair chunk of weight there are lots of question marks against this one but there is this. How many times do we see Mullins land a big race in Ireland with one of his second string horses? Spasiba may not get the trip either tomorrow if it runs, but you could be sure it won't lack fitness being a Mullins gun and although I will be surprised if it won Bet365 putting up 50/1 about a Mullins outsider is a tempting carrot. My worry is Danny Mullins going straight to the front on it (made all last time out) which would probably shoot the bet down for it to be a sitting duck. Tactics remain to be seen (didn't front run against Joyou De Thaix) and currently 8 runners engaged for the contest so the likelihood is we will end up having only 2 places. I have played small stakes and at the current price won't be dismayed if the selection totally bombs, at that price it probably should anyway. (Sunday 5 January) (Lawlors Of Naas Novice Hurdle) SPASIBA e/w @ 50/1 (B365) 3 places.6 points -
Horsham v Carshalton Horsham have really found their form again having won 4 on the bounce since losing 3-1 to Dartford when we took them on. Last Saturday they put 6 past Potters Bar and then on New Years Day they had a fantastic result when beating top of the table Dover 2-1. I rate them a strong bet to beat a Carshalton side who are always better at home than they are away. They have lost their last 3 games and have even lost their last 2 home games which is unusual for them. Horsham have only lost to Folkestone, Dover and Dartford at home and they have won their other 7 home league games. Gainsborough v York Not much appeals in the Trophy, but I did think Gainsborough were a sporting play. York haven't always been at their best on the road and I suspect it won't be a full 1st team for this game given the league title is the priority. Gainsborough have lost their last 3 league and possibly they are feeling the effects of the FA Cup run, but they have done very well in both cups this season. They will fancy their chances of pulling off another upset and with this not being Yorks priority then that helps their cause. Horsham 3pts @ 5/6 with Betfred and Bet365 (take up to 4/6) Gainsborough 1pt @ 13/2 with Paddy Power, Betfair and Betfred (take up to 4/1)6 points

So much for more choice with Saturday racing with all the main meetings cancelled. 3.22 Sou Inexplicable 0.50 ew at 17/2 4 pl with Skybet = 1 pt staked. Had a 1.50 L15 with some chancers at Southwell = 1.50 So-called form picks at Southwell looks to be: 4.35 Art Market. Mainly like because of William Haggas. Daily Nap 7.50 Wolv - Smart Hero - 11/4 with 365 BF last time but was given too much to do in a slowly run race, the danger looks like the A.Balding runner but I'm with Smart Hero if closer to the action. Daily EW 4.03 South - Star of Atlantis - 5/1 (1/5th 4 places with 365) Switches to lowly classified level, trainer has a healthy 20% SR at the track, and jockey Hector Crouch rides 21% at the track.4 points

I'm not sure if it's a charge @harry_rag I just know that if I set up a cash-out myself, it returns more than the cash-out option. I've no issue with that btw, as it makes sense to pay a premium to instantly trade out compared to taking the time to organise it yourself. Cash-out is effectively a service that Betfair provide and so it's natural that a service like that would carry a charge.3 points

Had a bit of time of my hands this morning so I've looked into the home and away form table and gone for this four-fold: Bournemouth - Everton have scored one goal in four games. Aston Villa - Villa have the 4th best home record while Leicester have the 3rd worst away record. Fulham/Ipswich (Over 2.5 Goals) - Fulham home games average 3.1 goals per game while Ipswich away games average 3 goals per game. Wolves/Forest (Over 2.5 Goals) - Wolves home games average 3.77 goals per game while Forest away games average 2.7 goals per game. 6.98 at bet3653 points

Based on @Darran's previous research and form I'm sticking on a double today of Dover (Evens - many) + Truro (9/10 - many) Dover are up against Hendon of which Darran has pointed out their form was badly affected after losing manager and some players. Dover have lost a few games recently but to other top sides so their form has dipped, but this is surely a great game to get them back on track. Truro unlucky to lose away against Torquay in the last game and will want/need blood against a hit and miss Hornchurch side whose recent results have been shaky. Hornchurch may have slight advantage by being well rested, but Truro should be too good.3 points -

Don't know how you guys feel about playing the teams who have at least something to play for regarding potential survival on the last weekend , these five teams are either " In the hunt or On the bubble " so not already qualified or been eliminated. Falcons / Broncos / Buccs / Dolphins / Bengals , these five have between 11% to 99% chance of qualifying providing they win. Best price 5.58 for the acca with Sportsbook. There's probably a hiccup in there somewhere but at least you know they'll be playing with intensity and a desire to win. https://www.nfl.com/standings/playoff-picture https://www.espn.co.uk/nfl/injuries2 points -

Quite looking forward to the Gauff v Muchova match in the United cup. Gauff has continued to improve her forehand, which was her weakest shot.. Beginning last year it was inconsistent. Mid year much better and now she looks confident with it. She holds a 3-0 record over Muchova, and I think without the glaring weakness of an inconsistent forehand, she will be too strong. Last time out (China open) Gauff won 6-1 6-3 and I expect similar here.2 points -

Aoi Ito to beat Sijia Wei @odds 1.73 with STN Cz post his play earlier, and I am tailing this, but for specific reasons. I did not know about Ito, and I watched all of her recent available video. This play falls into my superstition system that I'm using that I won't go into detail about, but it just so happens that Czech's bet was able to hold my horses on a losing bet, and wait for something better such as this. Absolutely mind blowing player. Her technique and tennis IQ is an elite level, and she's only 20 years old. This player does not make unforced errors from what I saw, and a beautiful ability to not only construct points and finish them at the net, but also a very fine counter puncher. Maybe she isn't the greatest physical athlete and her serve is not very powerful, but she makes tennis look very easy, and holds a 4-0 set lead in her opponent today. This is the finals of the tournament, and I believe she will give everything to win it. good Luck! 🍀2 points -

You'd be better off financially by conjuring up your own exchange hedge 100% of the time for sure , their business model is set to take a slice for the privilege but tbf there's a couple of reasons as to why customers take the easy cash out offered , they're either too lazy to work it out , want the immediate cash instead of having to wait or haven't enough balance to hedge in another market using another method. Obviously all that applies if you've only one leg to run but for more than one still to run there isn't much option as it gets over complicated , for them not to take a slice above what the exchange allows there would have to be a flaw in their or any bookmakers business model , but there isn't. As for the slice taken it varies as to how greedy the bookmaker is but however generous they may look you'll always be better off calculating an exit on the exchange.1 point

How come? Are you saying they charge you for the cash out? I’d have thought the return would be the same but it just saves you having to work it out yourself (assuming you want to cash out fully). But I’m speaking as someone who never really uses the facilty! I assume your bet is closed entirely if you accept the cashout so in the example you quote you make 85p whatever the eventual outcome. Your choice is whether to take 85p profit or let your bet run. I’ll take a closer look out of curiosity when I get chance.1 point
-
I'll give the short answer which is do not use the auto cash-out feature as you'll lose money compared to cashing out yourself.1 point

Hopefully third time lucky for me taking on Coventry City recently. An away trip to Norwich isn't the ideal way to finish off a period of 5 games since the 21st Dec, and there will be some tired legs all round by the end of the game. Norwich aren't the finished article but could be playing themselves into some form. I think Coventry will be there for the taking being knackered and low on confidence after failing to beat 10 man Cardiff. 3 points win Norwich (7/5 Bet365) P/L: -5.2pts Norwich were woeful but a rare bit of luck for me with 2 goals in injury time to turn it around 😲1 point

You can back at the current odds or ask for a bigger price and see if you can get matched. I'm not aware of an ability to ask for shorter odds! So yes, if something is currently 4.00 and you ask for 3.5 you will be matched at all prices from 4.00 down to 3.5. Someone may well be trying to lay the selection at 3.5 at that point but the exchange assumes that most people would prefer better odds if available.1 point

I am on NICE in France tonight at 6-5. They are very good value IMO. They are home to Rennes Nice at Home are 4-3-0 Goals 18-7 Rennes away are 0-1-6 Goals 4-15 Combined it gives 10-4-1 (66% chance of a home win) and a Goals for/against of 33-11 ..... enough to tempt me at 6/5 odds for the home side.1 point
