    Players Championship Finals

Kicks off tomorrow. I will be going with the following. I picked up some of these last week, as we discussed. Humphries will want to go hard on this one before the Worlds. I know his Daughter was unwell last week and I'm not sure of any updates on that. I'm more interested in the top half. Will take 3 from the top and 2 from the bottom, at odds that are too good to turn down. De Decker 33/1 Bet265 Nijman 50/1 Skybet Van Veen 80/1 Bet365 Lukeman 150/1 Skybet Wattimena 150/1 Skybet

    Players Championship Finals

Interesting thoughts guys. I’d already backed van Veen and Nijman when they were hitting those big averages during the Grand Slam last week. The only other one I’ve gone for in the outright market is Bunting at 28/1. He’s just become a father for the second time, so he’ll either be up for this … or completely knackered.

Confidence is important in Darts and he will certainly have that. There could be a drop in terms of how gutted he would have been to not win it but either way, 150/1 is a good price. Scutt was awful in the 5-0 loss to Ross Smith. He'd have Bunting then Michael Smith to make a Quarter Final against likely Rock or Clayton. None of those are that scary and tbh Bunting would appeal most out of those lot. Lukeman was hitting mid to high 90s for the most part last week(end) and the higher end of that would likely threaten a good run. 150/1 looks fair enough.

  8. Littler has a tough draw. Cross, then Edhouse, then Wade/Noppert and then De Decker if both reach the 8. Call me crazy, but I like Heta at 40/1. IF Humphries doesn't show up, Heta could go deep.

  13. I always think the 1st game back after international break is a potential banana skin but I'm playing Chelsea, Arsenal, Fulham, Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd & Newcastle. Having a small punt at them all to win both to score too. Brighton too, but they're the ones I'm least confident about.

  14. I agree. I could see Lukeman replicate what Edhouse did after his EC win. He looked sharp and confident in the Grand Slam, and that's what I expect from Lukeman too.

  15. Lukeman at 150 is a surprise considering he made the final last week! I best get on over to Skybet as he'll be in to 80/1 soon Id imagine! And 80s on Van Veen could look like a steal in a few days time!

  16. Thanks for the information about how scores are calculated, it gives a better insight into the figures, and I may be able to use them now instead of not really understanding how they worked.

  23. This is all fine, but what we want, is to PREDICT what's going to happen based on these performance markers, and that's where the "Prediction" section comes in. You're covered with the Prem through to League 2, The Scottish Prem and the top leagues, in Europe (French, Spanish, Italian & German). All the UEFA competitions are covered and we even have the likes of the MLS, Australian A-League & Brazil Serie A. Let's take a look at the coming weekend, in the Premier League. As you can see, we have the points attained by each team, in the last 2 & 4 fixtures. If you look at Leicester, you'll see 15.75 and 13.00. These are the points scored from their last 2/4 HOME matches and of course, the same with Chelsea. 32.50 and 25.50 are the scores of their last 2/4 AWAY matches. Once we have this total, we can then get an average of both and see if there is a big "difference" between the two You can see that the difference has come out as 16.75 / 12.50 in favour of the away team. It has to be up to you what "cut-off number" would make it a bet, for you, but I would suggest that this kind of dominance would suggest a bet on Chelsea. I have a thread up to test the ELO Ratings Hope this helps Fader

  25. And so back to "proper" footy with my betting bank not sorry to see the end of the International break! Friday eases us back in with a few games hither and thither. Plymouth v Watford in the Championship is the main game on these shores and Spain, Germany and France also get back underway. 7 Premier League games on Saturday let us know it's really business as usual with a decidedly mortal looking Man City facing Spurs in the game of the day. Pretty much every League you could imagine is in action so it's very much a "feast" weekend rather than a "famine" one this week. The remaining Premier League games are on Sunday and Monday before we're back in the thick of the UEFA club competitions in midweek. Let's see if we can find a few winners between us.

    Tennis Tips - Off-Season

I know there's a lot of cheering goin' on for Jasmine and her magnificent season in social media now from WTA amongst others but I'd like to throw a heavy punch at Errani too since she's done the biggest thing in her whole career by winning the olympic gold medal alongside Jasmine Paolini this summer.. They both have had an amazing season even if Sara hasn't done much in singles she's still around live and kicking.

  40. This says it all while I compare Sara to Karolina Pliskova who she lost to earlier in Linz this season. I don't think Pliskova will make such a comeback as Sara has done these last 3 seasons. While I feel Sara never gave up I feel Pliskova has already given up whatever fight she's up to.

  42. that is my intent, even if it's just one pick a weekend. Going off that, it would look like Burnley would be that pick this weekend, over the 2 leagues. Now we have the base of how they work we can trial and error until perfect.

  43. Good luck. My concern about the ratings is that they’re based on such a small number of games but I’ll be interested to see how you get on. My other thought is the price v ratings angle. A 20 point margin would be one thing at, say, 1/2, but maybe another at 2/1. Now if you could convert the ratings into fair prices that would be great! As a quick and easy proxy, maybe you could multiply the points advantage by the team’s odds to give a rough and ready value measure. 1.5 x 20 woulds score 30 whereas 3 x 20 score 60. That could give you the potential best bets each week reflecting the ELO ratings and the available odds.

  45. Maria Lourdes Carle to beat Leolia Jeanjean at 1.44 with Bet365 Very specific conditions in Colina, somewhat hard to control the ball, and Carle looked fine against Anderson in how she dealt with them. Jeanjean tends to be very up and down, and she can be very erratic when things start going even slightly off in terms of bounces, etc.

  47. i am French and in 2012 we had a betting scandal in handball with the best club in France and its biggest superstar if anyone is curious : https://www.rfi.fr/en/sports/20150711-french-handball-player-found-guilty-match-fixing the way that the fixing was discovered is " The game attracted bets of 103,000 euros - off the charts for a sport that usually attracts just a few thousands euros. " since now betting is so popular the amounts would have to be much higher for it to be investigated , especially back then there was only one operator in France ( national state lottery)

  48. snooker with tennis lower level tournaments are the sport in which very average players can probably make more money by match fixing than prize money ; having relatives or childhood friends bet with their different family names online and go in many bookmaker shops to place bet without having to show your identity ; add to that that snooker is huge in China and their are tons of Asian betting platforms there if the players have the right Chinese contacts they can also bet on dozens of Asian platforms ( which are illegal on mainland China but you can still access them )
