  4. Decided to back Oxford (8/5 Bet365), Derby had a tough game away at Millwall on Saturday and lost Nyambe to injury. They are seriously short on talent and Oxford will see this as a good opportunity for 3 points. 1pt win P/L; -2.35pts

  6. I believe that Gentleman Jim is owned by on course bookmakers James Lovell who also own DragonBet. Which is all a bit strange tbh. I was quickly closed down with Dragonbet (only backing horses) but was given a fair run (for nowadays anyway) by Gentleman Jim before the inevitable happened. A lot of these 'new' firms springing up use Star Sports 'skin' for their site and offer the same odds package that comes with that. Another firm under the same umbrella is NRG.bet who are well worth a try as they seem to lay a bet.

  7. With the conclusion of the Euro Tour over the weekend, the draw has been finalised for the European Championship Finals that start on Thursday, and a few of the bookies have got some prices up. The one that stood out to me at the prices was Ricardo Pietreczko. His form has been Ok of late, and the tournament is being played in his home country of Germany, so I was expecting to see prices around the 100/1 mark for him. So was pretty shocked to see SkyBet open up at 300/1 - so I’m having a bit of that.

  9. Sea Prince 2:43 Southwell (12/1 Betfair and a couple others). They tried holding this one up over 2M3F at Huntingdon last time but he's best leading over 2M on fast ground. Dropped a generous 5lb for that run and leaves him looking nicely handicapped off 108 (won brush hurdles off 112 in the summer). Usual jockey goes to Fontwell for one ride but they've booked Carver who is decent. Mr Mackay and Duke of Luckley don't look well handicapped while the fav won a 3m point and might find this a bit sharp after a break. 2pts win 12/1 P/L: +2.5pts. Skybet have him 6/1 without the fav and I've taken some of that too. Went out like a light before the home straight, Guess he is done for the season 😬

It is true that the more bets you have the sooner you will hit the big one. However you do seem to have an awful lot of bets on a quiet betting day, you may be better being more selective ?

  20. Finally Parks gets the ball rolling with a win. For me an interesting matchup today is De Minaur v Struff. Struff coming back from a bad hip injury. But he can play. Great athlete, tall, big serve, excellent movement for a big person. He was on a roll last season. I think de Minaur is playing with a slight tweak. Does not look 100% injury free to me. Did not play in the far East (which indicates recovery and injury). Struggled with Carbellos Beana and Gaston in Antwerp, and I think he might lose again today. Maybe the safer bet is the over games here. Generally when rusty the serve stays OK and the returns drop off, so you get longer sets. Which Franscesco Cerundolo shows up today v Tsitsipas? I quite like to oppose Tsitsipas as he has some glaring weaknesses. A relentless server pounding his backhand return into the dust will be rewarded. I think this is quite a good match to bet in-play, especially if Cerundolo makes a good start (it will motivate him) . If he starts badly he may just "check-out". Def interesting and a wait and see.

  25. Buckle up, it's a busy one! Tuesday sees 9 Champions League games with Arsenal and Villa at home to Shakhtar Donetsk and Bologna respectively. Real Madrid v Dortmund perhaps the tie of the night unless you class PSG v PSV as some sort of derby! There are also plenty of games in the Championship, Leagues 1 and 2 and the National Leagues. There are 9 more CL games on Wednesday with Celtic away to Atalanta, Man City entertaining Sparta Prague and Liverpool travelling to Leipzig. Barcelona v Bayern undoubtedly the big one. There's a couple of Europa League games and the conclusion of the Championship and National League midweek programmes. Thursday sees Europa and Conference League action with Man U, Rangers, Spurs, Chelsea and Hearts all involved. So no shortage of winners in waiting, let's see how many we can find between us.

  27. I can't believe how bad Coventry have been this season, really stitched up my top scorer bet on Simms. I don't think I'll have a bet but will be watching with interest as Robins surely gets sacked if they lose this. Tomorrow I will probably back Burnley at around 6/4.

  35. Apologies, @andypandy23, only just seeing this. To be honest, I think football in general these days is becoming tougher to predict with more investment and finer margins coming in across the game. I still think now we're reaching 10 league games played we can gauge a much better idea about how teams are looking. Of course, there are still predictable elements but it's already clear to see certain teams are ones to watch and certain teams are ones to avoid.

  42. I believe that to get a license that it is easier to go via someone that already has one so for example AK Bets use Star Sports, but I don't believe they have anything else to do with each other. I follow the guy who owns Dragonbet on Twitter and when he launched the website he did say he wanted it to be very Welsh focused.
