Re: Wimbledon 2013 Now Marin Cilic has pulled out due to injury, what the hell is going on? Wimbledon? More like Crippledon.:) Will we have even 8 players standing by the Quarters Notice all the players that went deep at French and/at Queens seem to be all suffering. Two Grand Slams separated by 3 or 4 weeks isn't ideal & hopefully it will change after all these injuries. Looks like Mahut is feeling the after effects of his win at Hertogenbosch Crazy stuff.

Re: Wimbledon 2013

Sloan Stephens to beat Andrea Petkovic 1.94 Pinnacle (8/10 Points) Watched Stephens against Hampton, Hampton didn't play badly, Sloan was just ruthless. Not only good depth, but there was an aggressive force behind her shots too. She's obviously been working on her approach, there's more aggression and it's paying off. It's a good thing, she is more than just a good athlete. Petkovic's worst surface has always been grass, easy decision.

Re: Wimbledon 2013

Funny, there was hardly any BIG upset at French Open, and now the upsets jut rain from heavens, LOL. Today: Vika out, Shvedova out, Tsonga out, Cilic out, Hewitt lost, Ivanovic lost, and it looks like Sharapova is going to be beaten in straights. I must book my bet against Serena for tomorrow quickly :-) edit: looks like Central court is magic. Im gonna make small punt against Fedex.
Hope someone read this and followed inplay :-) Centre Court today is money mill.

Re: Wimbledon 2013 One for tomorrow without big reasoning as it was mentioned before here: HALEP to beat LI. 2,72 @ marathonbet (10/10). Halep on fire the last weeks with some thrilling performances, plays the tennis of her life. Li has never been the greatest grass courter. This is even in my eyes.

Re: Wimbledon 2013

Some thoughts on today´s matches. 1) MAHUT (-3,5 games) to beat ROBREDO. 1,90 @ pinnacle (9/10) Mahut should have the upper hand here as we will watching a game between a grass courter and a clay courter. Mahut is in very good shape, serves well, vollies well and has some decent returns. The winner of s´Hertogenbosch also has enough confidence to get through here as he has nothing to lose: A week ago he won his first single tournament ever (and he is over 30 years old). I simply believe that Robredo doesn´t have the sort of tennis that is needed to cause real trouble to someone like Mahut here. 2) DARCIS to beat KUBOT. 1,81 @ pinnacle (9/10). I´m really surprised to read some tips that fancy Kubot here. In my opinion, Darcis is the well-deserved favorite in this match-up, and I do not overrate his win against Nadal. It was a straight set win against an injured Nadal, and it was a very convincing performance of Darcis, but: What makes me confident with this pick is that Darcis has definitively what it takes to beat decent players on a grass court as his stlye of play is very flexible. Perhaps he lacks the big strokes at some times, but he plays consistent, with his head on and is able to put pressure on his opponent. He has shown that against Nadal two days ago, he shown that against Berdych last year at the Olympics, he has shown that with his positive record on grass. And: Kubot isn´t even a decent player, he is very average. He has his serve, okay. But he lacks the consistency and because of these weak moments, he will lose here. 3) BROWN vs. HEWITT over 36 games. 1,98 @ pinnacle (8/10) Brown is able to cause some trouble to Hewitt here with his hit-or-miss play. If Hewitt plays on the same level that he has shown against Wawrinka, he will win in under games. But I don´t think he will. Some weaker moments of Hewitt mixed with a hit series of Brown, and one set is off and the overs are on. 4) TSONGA vs. GULBIS over 41 games. 1,97 @ marathonbet (8/10). I can see Gulbis fighting here: Big crowd, big game, his opponent as a clear favorite. Tsonga didn´t look that impressive at all, especially at his return game, so I fancy Gulbis here at least to get to some tie-breaks. If he wins one of them, the overs should be fully in range. 5) HSIEH (-2,5 games) to beat CORNET. 1,95 @ marathonbet (7/10). Fancy Hsieh here as she has the more powerful play that fits better on grass. Cornet lacks these powerful strokes as she is a typical clay-courter. Above all, Hsieh is a decent double player, therefore she has what it takes to play successfully at the net. That should be enough to beat Cornet here. 6) GIORGI to beat CIRSTEA. 2,70 @ marathonbet (7/10). I´m a bit surprised with this price here as I would see this match pretty even. Giorgi got to the forth round last year, beating the likes of Pennetta and Petrova, only losing to finalist Radwanska. And you don´t really know the result in a match in which Cirstea takes part: Does she hit or does she miss? Nice fact: Giorgi lost to Vekic last week 7-6 6-3, Cirstea lost 6-2 6-1...Of course, cross-comparisons are not really meaningful at tennis, but 2,70 is value here. 7) BEGEMANN/EMMRICH (-4,5 games) to beat KUDLA/SMYCZEK. 1,94 @ marathonbet (8/10) BEGEMANN/EMMRICH to beat KUDLA/SMYCZEK 3:0. 2,70 @ marathonbet (4/10) This should be clear win for the probably best German double at the moment. They will face two American that have no more than challenger level, and I don´t get why Begemann/Emmrich are still so underrated. They won at Düsseldorf, beating Nielsen/Sa, Huey/Inglot. They got to the final of s´Hertogenbosch, beating top doubles like Quershi/Rojer, Llodra/Mahut and Huey/Inglot on grass, losing only to Mirnyi/Tecau. Their only weaker performance in the recent weeks was at Roland Garros where they got crushed by Fyrstenberg/Matkowski. They should really have the upper hand here. 8) HEWITT/KNOWLES (-2,5 games) to beat DELGADO/EBDEN. 1,83 @ marathonbet (7/10) I fancy Hewitt/Knowles here. Knowles is 41 years old, but still has the pace to be a very good double player. And this is Hewitt, too, especially on grass. Delgado/Ebden played togehter this year at the Nottingham challengers, not very succesful. Delgado´s serve is quite weak when you consider that he is double specialist. With Hewitt big returns, there should be some opportunities.
Robredo d. Mahut 7-6 6-1 7-6 :wall Darcis retires Brown d. Hewitt 6-4 6-4 6-7 6-2 Tsonga retires Cornet d. Hsieh 6-3 6-3 :wall Giorgi d. Cirstea 7-6 7-6 Begemann/Emmrich d. Kudla/Smyczek 6-2 6-7 6-4 6-1 (and were break up in the second...) Hewitt/Knowles play tomorrow. +8,5 units for today. Weird day, 2/8 have been totally wrong, but at the end of the day, there is a nice plus again. Brings me to +23,75 at Wimbledon.

Re: Wimbledon 2013

I like Halep' date=' already taken her, but also Dimitrov to prove a let-down again?[/quote'] Puh, I don´t think Zemlja is capable to beat him, but....on the other hand even Sela almost did. Perhaps Dimitrov wants to have some holidays with Masha? :P I´ll take the overs there.

Re: Wimbledon 2013 It looks like Murrays tournament now but we'll see. Cetkovska was a good winner while Stephens struggled over the line for me today. After todays madness here we go for tomorrow.... Del Potro vs Levine - Total games under 29.5 5/6 Paddy Power Levine struggles on the main tour and is here thanks to a very kind draw. Del Potro defeated Ramos easily in the first round and expect him to post another easy victory here. He leads the H2H with 2 easy straight sets victories. 10 points win Total games under 29.5 5/6 Paddy Power Williams vs Garcia Total games under 16.5 5/6 Paddy Power The question here is will Garcia hold serve 5 times. Improving though she is I think not! 10 points win total games under 16.5 5/6 Paddy Power Lisicki to beat Vesnina 8/11 Boylesports Lisicki leads the H2H 2-1 but they havent played for 4 years. Since then both have made great strides. Lisicki tends to do very well at Wimbledon reaching the semis and the quarters (twice). She was in imperious form in her opener against Schiavone while Vesnina had to come from a break down in the second set against Hlavackova. But hit the ball well but Lisicki with her more powerful seve and ground strokes should win this easily. I reckon once Lisicki wins the first set Vesnina will get down on herself and fade away in the second. 10 Points win Lisicki 8/11 Boylesports 5 points Lisicki 2-0 7/4 Boylesports Pironkova to beat Zahlavova Strycova 2-0 5/4 Bet365 Zahlavova Strycova's best result here came when she beat Hantuchove in the second round a few years ago but is nowhere near that form this time around. She qualified and then beat an injured Rybarikova in the first round. Pironkova also beat the injured Pavlyuchenkova. However Pirokova's profile at wimbledon is far more impressive reaching the semis and quarters and her whole season seems to depend on a good showing here. She has a good serve and groundstrokes and is strinking the ball well. Her accurate groundstrokes and better all round consistency on grass should she her through easily here. I don't see her dropping more than 7 games in this one and that would be a lot! 10 Points win Pironkova 2-0 5/4 Bet365 10 Points Treble Keys to beat Barthel 1/2 Kerber to beat Kanepi 1/3 Llodra to beat Seppi 4/7 Totesport (3.14) Keys looked at home on grass in beating Watson whereas Barthel struggles on it as she hits the ball flat and doesnt seem to be able to deal with the lower balls. Once she learns that she will be a force but for now I think the young American will win. Kerber and Kanepi hit a strong ball but Kerber is more consistent at the moment and I expect that and her little angles to see off Kanepi who struggled against Moore in her opening match here. Llodra has an excellent serve and volley game and the kind of opponent Seppi struggles with on this surface. Llodra also leads the H2H 3-1 with those 3 coming on a hard court while Seppi's victory came on clay. Good Luck!

Re: Wimbledon 2013 That looks pretty good. Murray has a cakewalk to the final really, his potential semi-final opponent is a laughable list of players including Almagro/Janowicz/Paire who he will comfortably deal with Djokovic ironically has the harder draw now after starting in the 'easy' half with the likes of Haas/Lopez, Berdych, Ferrer/Delpo floating around. Really he will beat those guys but I think Haas is potentially the toughest match-up if he comes through Feli(assuming both win) as he is serving from a tree right now. Anyway, seems like Tomic pulled out of doubles with an injury - could be precautionary but I heard he had a time-out vs Querrey aswell and was struggling a bit. Could be a problem facing Blake tomorrow - I personally would never put real money on James Blake in 2013 but food for thought at least.

Re: Wimbledon 2013 Back Grega Zemlja to beat Grigor Dimitrov @ 6.00 >Betfair Now that the likes of Nadal, Federer and Tsonga have exited this tournament, I think the pressure on Dimitrov to deliver in a Grand Slam increases. He has been touted as the next big thing for a while now, and I'm not sure that he finds it easy to deal with the pressure that brings. He went into the Australian Open at the start of the year in good form and was expected to do well, but lost tamely to Benneteau in the first round. During the clay court season he pushed Nadal all the way in Monte-Carlo which put the spotlight back on him, only to lose his next match against Robredo in Barcelona. He hasn't looked that great to me in the grass court season so far, losing to Hewitt at Queen's after nearly being knocked out by Sela, and I don't think his win against Bolelli in the first round here tells us very much. The Italian hadn't played since retiring in the first round of the French Open, and in all honesty he probably only turned up because of his ranking and to collect his appearance money. I think Zemlja should be able to give Dimitrov a much stiffer test, and he has been playing well during the last couple of weeks. He beat Russell comfortably enough in his first match of this tournament, bouncing back well from losing the first set on a tie break. Crazy things have been happening at Wimbledon in the last couple of days, and in that context I'm sure Zemlja will believe that he can get in on the act by beating the talented Dimitrov.

Re: Wimbledon 2013 @Banner. Out of all my selections the Del Potro total games under is probably the weakest. Levine isnt great and hasn't really troubled him in 2 previous matches. On the other hand I am counting on Del Potro not losing focus which as you know doesn't always happen. The percentage call is usually to go over with the top guys but I think the opponent here is weak. The strongest bet for me is Lisicki. I backed her at 4/5 and when I went to post there was only a bit of 8/11 left! I think she'll win easily but would prefer if she was on centre or court 1 which play differently to the other courts

Re: Wimbledon 2013 Picks for tomorrow: 1) ZEMLJA vs. DIMITROV over 36,5 games. 1,97 @ marathonbet (8/10). This should be a tighter contest between those two than the bookies expect. Especially Dimitrov is kind of a paradise bird (is that the right word in English?) who has enormous potential but has periods of quite unmotivated play and thrilling balls in one and the same match. In my opinion, little Roger here lacks the consistenty to beat a solid grass court player like Zemlja in three sets. Braver punters might consider to back Zemlja to win that one...perhaps it´s worth a little shot. 2) SIJSLING to beat RAONIC. 3,10 @ marathonbet (7/10). This definitively looks value as Raonic is overrated here when you consider his recent poor record, even on the grass courts. I´ve watched some of his games, and above all he lacks a good movement and consistency in his shots. His serve works well, but that simply isn´t enough as Raonic has to put pressure on his opponents in longer rallies to win matches. Sijsling is solid, serves well and should have the upper hand from the baseline. In my eyes, he is only a slight dog here. 3) FERRER vs. BAUTISTA-AGUT over 29,5 games. 1,90 @ marathonbet (7/10). Of course, this can be a clear three set win for Ferrer who is the better player. But he did struggle against Alund, seems to have some problems to adapt his play to the faster grass courts. Bautista-Agut is quite a flexible player, nice straight set win against Gabashvili. The overs should be fully within the range here as long as Ferrer doesn´t improve significantly. 4) TOMIC vs. BLAKE over 39,5 games. 2,00 @ pinnacle (8/10) This smells like a tight contest between these two players. Both big serve, nice vollies; both lack consistency, have better and weaker periods. According to some rumors Tomic might be a bit injured. If he retires, this is pick is a void. 5) LOPEZ (-5,5 games) to beat MATHIEU. 1,86 @ pinnacle (8/10) There shoud be a massive gap here. Lopez serves fantastically and plays with spirit these days, powerful and flexible. His win against Simon was a thrilling performance in my eyes. Mathieu doesn´t have this level. Therefore I expect at least one clear set to get this line covered here. 6) SOEDA vs. GASQUET over 30 games. 2,04 @ marathonbet (9/10). This line looks some points too low as Soeda is no push-over on the fast courts. Of course, Gasquet is the better player, but he wasn´t very convincing against Granollers. He can improve, of course, but I don´t think he will fly though this round and crush Soeda. One tight set and this pick should be won. 7) PIRONKOVA (-3,5 games) to beat ZAHLAVOVA STRYCOVA. 1,87 @ marathonbet (8/10). In my eyes this price looks very nice as Pironkova is a grass court specialist and former Wimbledon semi finalist. She should be the better player here. Zahlavova has won some games on grass this year, the qualification and against Rybarikova. But except of the last two sets against Rybarikova she didn´t face tough opponents in my eyes. Pironkova will be that tough opponent and she looks a bit underrated here. 8) KERBER (-4 games) to beat KANEPI. 1,87 @ marathonbet (9/10). Kanepi could have gone out against Tara Moore...Kerber should be the better player overall here. The German plays a nice season, has the powerful shots that are needed on grass and will use weaker periods of Kanepi to win this match and cover this handicap. That´s at least what I think here. Additionally, Kerber should be very confident with his play here as she has beaten Mattek-Sands in round 1, an opponent that she has never beaten before and was very happy about that. HALEP to beat LI and HEWITT/KNOWLES to beat DELGADO/EBDEN as mentioned before. Already for Friday: 9) BROWN (-2 games) to beat MANNARINO. 1,96 @ marathonbet (15/10) Must be a joke. The first time since long long time I will bet over my stake limit. I simply don´t get these odds. Brown plays fantastically at the moment. I´ve watched the whole match against Hewitt, he won well-deserved and Hewitt wasn´t bad... The draw is wide open for both players here as the face Kubot/Paire in round 4, and for both players this will be one of the most important games in their life. Mannarino loves the faster courts, okay. But doesn´t he really have the class to beat an in-form Brown here who plays the tennis of his life? brown is a very cool player, too. He will have his emotions under control and play with a smile on his face, as he always does. The pressure will not cost him points. It´s time to go out for Mannarino here. He will not be able to break Brown, but Brown with his hit or miss-play will be - at some times. And that will be enough. I would have that line at -5,5 games...

Was just wondering really as I was tempted with Levine +9 Games @ 1.8ish. The more and more I think about it the more I want to avoid it. Im not as confident as I would like to be. I just feel if Levine can get to a tie break he should cover it then

Re: Wimbledon 2013 The outright prices on Del Potro in particular and also Berdych to some extent look huge, I'm surprised they haven't been reduced although I suppose in some way their task hasn't changed with Tsonga, Federer, Nadal out inthe other half. I'm on Djokovic with Murray cover from pre-tournament so I think I'll lump some serious cash on Del Potro now. 28/1 is massive, worth an each way look. Also, barring injury Murray will reach the final, do any bookies have odds on this? 1/3 or higher would probably be backable.

Re: Wimbledon 2013 Simona Halep x Na Li Simona Halep @ 2.50 (70% confidence) What could be backed at 2.75 at least yesterday, now can only be backed at 2.50. Simona Halep is on top notch form, winning all the tennis. Won 2 consecutive WTA titles (Nurnberg - Clay and Den Bosch - Grass), and while fatigue may start being a problem, she doesn't look like stopping for now. Although not the biggest grass player, she's feeling in the zone and can fight for the result against any opponent right now. Well, maybe except Serena. I disagree when people say Na Li is awful on grass. Not her best surface, yes, but pre-2011 she got to finals and even won one (Birmingham 2010 against Sharapova). Also produced quarters-finals of Wimbledon that year. Her movement compensates for a lack of technical ability in grass environments, but she isn't so bad at the net. However, her trust in net-play she acquired in doubles pre-2010 has been lacking since then. In 2011 and 2012, she crashed at Wimbledon's 2nd round. Her season started off well, with an Australian Open final, but was surprisingly eliminated at RG 2nd Round against an on-form Jelena Jankovic. Halep leads H2H 1-0, when she produced an upset at US Open 2011 (62 75). This one may be not be a total upset, and odds are lower right now, but still value betting on Halep. Giving more confidence here than what I think it should be (60%), because Na Li has the weapons to defeat Halep, but Halep's form is too good to be ignored. Milos Raonic x Igor Sisling Igor Sisling @ 3.10 (50% confidence) This one is quite obvious, and only because I consider that Milos Raonic is complete bet-against for a long time now. His movement still lacks in grass courts, especially, where the game expects him to be faster in attacking the ball, which he can only do with his serve. Also on bad form, as well, lost in first rounds of Eastbourne and Halle against Dodig and Monfils, respectively. I only didn't bet against him in the first round because he got drawn against Carlos Berlocq, which turns into a top-500 player in grass. Sisling actually looked good at Queens, and lost to Tsonga in three tight sets. Won against Kuznetsov 63 64 64 in the first round. Has a good serve, and I agree with the post above that gives him the upper hand on the baseline. Can't be hard, after all he is facing Raonic. Raonic best bet is to hope for unforced errors from Sisling or push it to tie-breaks. Can see the supposed underdog winning this one. Olga Puchkova x Samantha Stosur Olga Puchkova @ 7.00 (25% confidence) Bloody wednesday leftovers? Samantha Stosur record in grass in unempressive, and usually falls down in Wimbledon at round 1/round 2 against big underdogs. Not having her best season as well in all aspects, from Grand Slams crashes in early rounds and no titles at all. Olga Puchkova has her best results in hard surfaces. However, her first win in grass was against Arantxa Rus, in first round, 2 days ago. She always neglected the surface, but I can clearly see Olga pushing this one to 3-setter and maybe even winning it. Not by her own merit, but because I can see Stosur being quite erratic, and pushed to pressure for being the big favourite after a day like yesterday. Low stakes recommended here. --- All bets are bet365.

Re: Wimbledon 2013 Back Paul-Henri Mathieu (+5.5 games) to beat Feliciano Lopez @ 2.00 10bet I see a tighter battle here than the odds suggest. These guys have met ten times and the h2h is set at 5-5 and only two of them have ended in straight sets. PHM won their only grass meeting in Queens back in 2007. Lopez, whose serve is red-hot at the moment, is 10-1 on grass this season and deserves to be the favourite. It will be very tough to break him, but I think the Frenchman can keep the sets close with his big serve. He fired 26 aces in the first match against Rikardas Berankis. I fancy him to cover the handicap.

Jesse Levine really struggled to get past Guido Pella. He's very vulnerable on serve. He's a lefty (same as Albert Ramos, Delpo's R1 opponent) and I'd actually rate him lower than the Spaniard. Not on anything, but I'd be surprised if JMDP doesn't win easily.

Re: Wimbledon 2013

  1. Li (-1.5 sets) to beat Halep. 2.59 @Pinnacle

Black Wednesday leftover? Not for Li. I know a lot of people will pick Halep as the winner. Yes, Halep plays very well recenlty and Li plays awful in French. However Li plays beautifully in the 1st round with limited UEs, and the fact she prepares well for Wimbledon should not be overlooked. Also I believe Halep is a bit tired after her continuous battles in the last two weeks, maybe that’s part of the reason why she dropped a set in the first round. Not the best Halep V.S. above-average Li, so I will not be surprised to see Li wins in straight sets.

  1. J.Blake to beat Tomic. 2.44 @Pinnacle

Blake is underrated. Blake’s convincing win in the first round plus Tomic’s unstable performance recently alone should make this a 50/50 match, not to mention Tomic is a bit struggled with his injury. Should Tomic drop out after one set, the wager is still valid according to Pinnacle’s rules.

  1. C.Garcia (+8 games) to beat Serena. 1.943 @Pinnacle

They met at French when Garcia lost 1:6 2:6 in the second round. But looking into the match actually Garcia played not bad, especially in the 2nd set. Besides, based on Serena’s first round, Serena is not playing her best tennis according to her standard. I think there is much value in this handicapped bet.

  1. J.Wang (+2.5 sets) to beat Haas. 2.91 @Pinnacle

J. Wang managed to get 1 set when he played against top players here. Last year against Verdasco he got one set, and in 2006 he also got 1 set against James Blake in the 2nd round, who was 12-seeded or so at that time. Wang is the kind of player when he feels good he can produce great tennis. His practice with Djokovic yesterday should help him a bit also. Over 29 games is a safer choice but I think the set handicap worth a try.

Re: Wimbledon 2013 Mens R2 - Zemlja +7 games AH vs Dimitrov @ 5/6 (Sportingbet:4pts) Big line for Dimitrov to cover here I think. Wouldn't think too much of his win over Bolelli who has had serious problems with injuries and is in no shape at all this year. I actually think Dimitrov is quite overrated when you listen to the media talk about him, but he has some weapons and is clear fave here. But I think Zemlja can be competitive in this one, he served 18 aces against Russell and has taken sets off some big players at Wimbledon in past years like Verdasco, Monfils. Do think he can play a few competitive sets with Dimitrov who can be sloppy at times, makes errors on returns and plays a high risk game. Even in a 3-0 loss, this line has a chance. :hope

Re: Wimbledon 2013 Kimiko Date-Krumm vs. Alexandra Cadantu Battle of two generations in the second round of the 2013 Wimbledon Championship as the 42-year-old Kimiko Date-Krumm from Japan meets the 23-year-old Alexandra Cadantu from Romania. The winner of this match will most probably play Serena Williams in the next round what could be an extra motivation for both players. Date-Krumm is a real legend of tennis courts and a player who deserves our respect as she holds some "oldest player ever" records including the oldest player ever to beat a Top 10 player. She won 8 WTA Tour titles during her career and is still ranked well inside the Top100, currently holding the position of world Nr. 84. We should also mention that her career-best ranking is world Nr.4 achieved in 1994 and the fact that she has reached the semifinals of three out of the four Grand Slam events including Wimbledon in 1996. It is safe to say that grass court is her favourite surface as she can use her experience and smart offensive tennis there and her first round performance against Witthoeft was simply great. Her opponent will be Alexandra Cadantu, who is also ranked just inside the Top100 but she is a player who deserves to be described as a clay court specialist as she is able to produce some nice results on the red dirt but is hardly getting any wins on faster surfaces and her win over Paszek here in Wimbledon was her career-first win on grass. But Paszek is in terrible form this year and was not fully fit, so this win surely isn´t a sign of Cadantu´s good play. This match is really on Date-Krumm´s racquet and she shouldn´t have any problem to easily beat Cadantu today and therefore we recommend you to place a tennis bet on Date-Krumm to win 2:0 in sets. Starting Time: 27 June 2013, 12:30 CET Bet: Date-Krumm -1.5 sets Odds: 2.04 Stake: 8 units Bookmaker: Pinnacle Sports
