Not sure what to make of clarkey @MCLARKE sneaking in without losses but no one got close so i cant disqualify the fooker for only running two furlongs instead of a mile. A few of the butter boys had their minds on other things, @LeMale scrawped 2nd from 3rd placed @kroni with @The Equaliser the only other in the black. The rest of us basically came last. "its the taking part that counts" bullshit. A few pulled up or were in and out like a bloke hiding in a wardrobe. Thanks everyone you didn't do well. 🤣

I imagine there will be a core that will go on (PL) regardless, but for a fair few the (forlorn hope of) esteem might be a driver, and then the the prospect of dosh is real pull. Me? Well I came to PL to test my ideas, not to win a competition. I usually start each month relatively weak because my selections tend to be of one of two trials, but switch over to something more serious if I am anywhere close at the end of calendar months. (I never suggested it made sense). I have never been a regular contributor especially on weekends because Sautrdays are manic (with several a la casa and recreational activities). But my enthusiasm is not high as I am finding the book prices "tight" at the moment, and it is a case of it does not feel worthwhile going on (in real punting and paper punting.

To be honest Mc this has been on my mind for about the last 2-3 weeks. I feel to an extent I am just not betting naturally anymore and although I TOTALLY AGREE with everything you have said, I think I will leave the profit and loss counts to the tabloid boys who get paid for their opinion. As I said to you a while back my bank account tells me what I need to know about how I am generally doing with horse racing (at the moment quite nicely). My discipline is always there when trying to give people a winning chance with a horse so never fear that will not change. Whether they actually win or not as you well know is up to the horse and rider. Respectfully. WW.

Good call that four-leaf , this stage of season teams hovering around the 8th slot frequently play to protect their 1pt so the latter stages can fizzle out until the mayhem of OT or SO. Especially so when teams play each other around that 8th spot when they can both still qualify and need every point they can get with only a dozen or so games to go in the regular.

Likewise me for Saturday's . I work quite a few Saturday's between July & February & then some I go & watch live football so to get my racing kick I've grown accustomed to watching & enjoying Stateside on a Saturday evening . I think in however long I've been here I've won about £50 max on horses & £15 on football & I'd still contribute if there were no prizes if & when time constraints allow .

Guilty as charged as I missed the last day ... Normally I get my selections up but just had one of those days so couldn't post.

The only thing that winds me up is people not carrying it through, I forgive Clarkey because he had a bit of a medical early in the week so came in late. I think if your going to play it should be each day in this case it was only 4 days and personally i think even if you get no winners its only 12 quid for a bit of fun/interest for the week with a chance of a payout.

I think a turn-out of 17 (is that the biggest yet) shows how popular and fun it is, even with no reddies at stake! I say, if you don't mind running it, just assume we all want to play in future as it seems like more people join in each time.

That would be an interesting "diversion". I am aware that some punters (a la lounge) prefer one race type to another, so I aimagine for them one of the separated type competitions should appeal .

Noticed something interesting ...... 5.30 at Wolves, small field, looks a 2 horse race Wonder Legend - 11 runs, 3 wins, current 2nd Favourite The interesting thing is looking at his Topspeed figures on the RP ...... his 3 wins have been his lowest 3 figures, he recorded higher figures in all the races he was beaten in Plage de Havre - 5 runs, 1 win, current Favourite Conversely his highest Topspeed figure was the race he won and his second highest figure was a race he lost by a nose So the speed figures might suggest a pattern ...... Wonder Legend wins slow run races and Plage de Havre wins more truly run races A 5 runner, 14 furlong handicap is likely to be fairly slowly run so should favour the 2nd Fav ? Rather than using speed figures to put a value on individual performances use them to look for patterns ?

A big thanks to all PL contributors. For the first time I can remember I finished up by over 45 pts at this year's Cheltenham Festival. By sifting through and mainly focussing on members' selections, I narrowed down the choices available and came out on top this year. I can't wait until the next festival comes along, where there is so much input from PL contributors 👍
