  6. Gateshead v Tamworth Gateshead were poor on Tuesday night and Braintree fully deserved the win. Braintree pressed Gateshead hard and forced them into mistakes so their passing style of football didn't work. I can see Tamworth doing the same here and as we know they always make things difficult for their opponents. That loss on Tuesday made it 4 defeats on the bounce and they haven't won in 6 now. Tamworth meanwhile are in cracking form and I think they look a cracking bet at a big price. Hartlepool v Boston Boston looked doomed to going straight back to the National League North a few weeks ago, but they have now gone 6 games unbeaten, winning their last 3 and all of a sudden they have given themselves a right chance of staying up. They beat an in form Braintree last weekend and then beat another in form side in Rochdale on Tuesday. They went 3-0 up and ended up winning 3-2, but that was Rochdale's first loss in 5 games and they had been looking very good. Hartlepool on the other hand have not looked good recently. They haven't won in 8 games and it was a pretty dull 1-1 draw with Solihull last Saturday. Hartlepool have nothing to play for and with the form Boston are in at the moment they have to be a bet. Oldham v Halifax Halifax should have won on Tuesday night with Dagenham creating very little, but I think Halifax have a chance of getting back to winning ways here. Oldham did not convince at all against Rochdale last week and they still aren't playing very well. I certainly think that Halfiax look a big price here as there isn't much between these two sides for me. Hemel Hempstead v Aveley Aveley's relegation isn't far from being confirmed and they have lost 16 of their 19 away games. They have only picked up 1 point in their last 8 games as well. Hemel should have won easier than they did on Tuesday night against Welling, but they won for us again and in my view they should be shorter odds to win this given the form they are in at the moment. Prices from Thursday morning Tamworth 2pts @ 13/5 with Paddy Power and Betfair (365 are huge at 14/5, Hills are 11/4 and take up to 2/1) Boston 1pt @ 11/4 Skybet and Betfred (365 are huge at 16/5, Hills are 29/10 and take up to 21/10) Halifax 1pt @ 13/5 with Bet365, Paddy Power and Betfair (11/4 with William Hill and take up to 2/1) Hemel Hempstead 4pts @ 4/5 with Skybet and Betfred (Hills are 10/11 (take up to 4/7)

  7. 4.30 Navan , Canal End 9/2 Still a maiden over fences but I think being upped in distance will see the necessary improvement to get his first win in this sphere . Ran a career best when upped to 2.4m last time out to finish second staying on and well clear of third. Nice patient ride from mark Walsh and powers home comfortably. 2.40 Newbury , Matterhorn 11/1 Tricky race to nail but I think Matterhorn is overpriced and is a better horse than the price is letting on. Still unexposed . Came last I thought Cobden may have tried to race him on the pace and not off the pace but what do I know. 5.35 Newbury , Some Scope 4/1 Pulled up the last twice but had excuses in both I feel ( Too short a distance/ bad mistake) is used to racing well in grade 3 and class 2 races. Drops down to class 3 and I fancy him here . Goes from 5/1 to 14/1 just before the off so didn’t look promising. Was running a good race then just emptied and pulled up I think.

  8. Gateshead v Tamworth Gateshead’s poor run continues with no win in six and four losses on the bounce. My favoured bet in this would be to lay the home team but the price isn’t quite there on the exchanges. But the odds on an away win has its attractions to small stakes so that is what I have gone for. Tamworth are unbeaten in six although their victories were against teams towards the bottom of the league Tamworth 5/2 1pt Hartlepool v Boston Another team from the north east on a poor run with no win in eight. Boston are doing well lately. I only tend to lay teams when they are odds on so a small punt on an away team is the way to go. Boston 11/4 1pt Marine v Peterborough S Marine are the new Arsenal. They like a 1-0. Peterborough aren’t doing too bad but following Marine has been extremely lucrative for me in recent weeks and the price encourages me to go in once again as a bit of 7/4 was on offer on the exchanges Marine 7/4 1pt Hemel Hempstead look interesting @ 5/6 and I might include them in a treble with Kidderminster and Worthing. All in good form against struggling sides. pays 11/4

  21. A disappointing effort from all the Friday selections but I'll take it on the chin and look to bounce back. Getting this one in early as think price will be shorter tomorrow: Newbury 3.15 CRAZIERTHANDAISY e/w @ 11/1 (hills/pp) ** non runner ** Will analyse prices further in the morning and there will likely be more selections to add to this one.

  34. Might be useful if one of you admin type chappies or chappess's chucked a list of the current comps run across the platform on this or a separate thread then we could have a shuftie at them in order to rank them into what the members feel are the most most engaging/important/entertaining/playable. Are we to assume there is a comps budget and if so, how to get the best out of that budget is one question i would pose. I know i had a discussion with @MCLARKE once about his suggestion about having a yearly naps comp and i remember suggesting the 4th placed tenner (120 quid) could be diverted to this end. Credit to Mike he made the decision to do that pretty quickly and that good idea seems to be working out well without any complaint so there may be a good idea or two out there.

  35. Noticed hovland and thought 50/1, that's generous, but had the 2 I was going with already. Hope that schauffelle ain't gonna come through after temporarily avoiding him
    2 points
  36. Well i am sticking with Hovland (available at 17/2) that seems a play given where he is. I am tempted but will not back zalatoris currently at 33/1 but wouldn't put anyone off a couple of quid at that price if they are out of the running with their picks. We all need a little interest. Worst price is shauffele (currently at 5/1) in my opinion.

For sure, Anderson is not the same player in these Euro Tour events as on the floor. I also like Chisnall to lose against Evans. Something is still off about Chizzy.

Anybody else tempted by the 9/4 on offer for Woody to get more 180s than Anderson? I might actually have woody to win too. He beat Anderson in the last ET event and the price on him to win with most 180s is 6/1
