I can see this ending nil-nil. Call me crazy but over the years I have seen teams switch to the Defensive and go for the one-nil win and come a cropper.

This occurred earlier on in the season for Liverpool against - unbelievably - Man City.

I think Liverpool will be overly cautious. will rely too much on their new approach, and we'll see Wolves happy to sit on the bore draw.

Almost happened in the Everton game.

Also, and this is just me, I cannot see Liverpool winning the Premier League. Which means they have to be pipped to the post come Christmas Day.

    I'm a superstitious girl.

    Hello Crazy :)

  2. Hibs v Rangers

After Hibs just beating Celtic, the bookies somehow have Rangers as odds on favourites and Hibs priced as high as 4.00 in some places. The value is obviously on Hibs and a repeat performance can defeat a Rangers side who have a poor away record.

    Hibs @ 4.00

For a few seasons now, Rangers have had problems with defending set pieces, I'm not convinced Stevie Gerrard has fixed this, with dead ball specialist Stevie Mallan delivering the crosses, big Ryan Porteous could get on the end of one, he's fantastic in the air and knows where the goals are for a centre half.

I have a funny feeling you're not going to mind being slightly off with this one. What a result! That early goal really put the clamps on Celtic.

Yeah, must admit i'm not really bothered about the losing bet, superb performance from Hibs, I don't think anyone saw that coming after the last few weeks. After a lot of chopping and changing of lineup and formations, mainly due to injuries, I think Lennon has finally found a system that suits us.

  4. A double for me today;

    Airdrie v Arbroath

Arbroath look unbeatable this season in the league and should bag another 3 points here at around odds of 1.70.

    Edinburgh v Elgin

This season has turned into groundhog day as once again our old friends Edinburgh at odds of 1.75 look good for another win here.

Arbroath and Edinburgh Double @ 2.98 looks good to me.

  5. Same as last week, if anyone's thinking about backing Hibs I'd advise caution. Things don't seem right behind the scenes at the moment with certain players seriously underperforming, we really should be good enough to beat Hamilton but I'm not touching it.

    Annan v Edinburgh City

Edinburgh have been good to me this season and I've backed them again today, I'm surprised they're available at such a big price, I make them nearer to evens myself.

Edinburgh @ 2.25 has a touch of value.

    Hearts vs Rangers

Well, that St Mirren result was a load of old sh... so we're going back to the SPL for some more punishment. @allyhibs, you'll be delighted to hear that not only am I covering the Hearts versus Rangers game that's kicking off on Sunday at midday over at Tynecastle but I'm also backing your local rivals to be on the wrong end of a bad result.

Hearts started the season like a rocket leading the way ahead of all their rivals including The Old Firm. However, Craig Levein's side have endured a bad spell of injuries and their lack of squad depth is now rearing its ugly head. The Jambos are now in freefall and are 4th in the league having earned just 1 point in their last 4 league games failing to score in all four matches.

Rangers will play their 31st competitive game of the season here. Incredible to think of the intensity that Steve Gerrard's side have played with over the campaign so far. Gerrard may well still have some focus on their away trip to Rapid Vienna in the Europa League in 12 days time but it's all about the league until then and the Ibrox side have won 5 and drawn 1 of their last 6 league matches.

The Gers have been the dominant side in this fixture over recent years. Even with all their problems off the pitch, Rangers have won 5 of the last 6 encounters between the two clubs. A win here would take Rangers to the top of the SPL ahead of their rivals Celtic and that's motivation enough to get the win in my opinion.

It's not a game I'm getting involved in Stevie, I want them both to lose.

    St Mirren vs Hamilton

OK, so it's a bit quiet around these parts this weekend with the FA Cup severely hampering the action in this section but let's try and liven things up slightly by covering the SPL relegation battlers game between St Mirren and Hamilton that kicks off at 3pm on Saturday from the Paisley 2021 Stadium.

St Mirren are hovering dangerously above the relegation zone in the SPL. Oran Kearney grabbed his first win as St Mirren boss last weekend in a 2-0 victory against Hearts. Kearney also moved to bring in the experienced Northern Ireland coach Jimmy Nicholl in a bid to improve the coaching quality at the club. The club is currently in 11th place and just 3 points off the bottom.

Things are not going much better at Hamilton. Martin Canning's team are just one place above their opponents in this game in 10th place with just 2 points more. A 3-0 loss to Celtic last weekend made it back-to-back defeats in the SPL with Academicals now losing 6 of their last 8 league matches, conceding 10 goals in their last 4 games and only scoring 1 goal in those 4 matches.

It certainly feels here that St Mirren are a team that could potentially hit a run of form if they win here. Victory would make it three matches undefeated for a team gaining confidence and self-belief. Hamilton feel like a team that are slowly creeping ever closer to the relegation spots. I'm backing a home win even though Hamilton have won 5 of the past 6 meetings between the clubs. This time just feels like momentum is with the home side.

Pretty much agree with all of this Stevie, I was going to tip St Mirren myself this week, you beat me to it :ok

Villa looking hot to handle at the moment and will be on a major high after their derby win...as a Forest fan I would be very happy with a draw, and I suspect that's what our manager will play for!

I'll probably go for it, the odds are too tasty to ignore. My thinking is if Forest can win at Boro then they can win at Villa :ok
