He has found winning tough but he is very consistent and he should have been a lot closer at Longchamp last time out only he got hampered when just about to make his move. He finished 2nd to Estimate in the Doncaster Cup last month on good ground but with the ground now heavy I would fancy him to reverse that form for the in-form Balding yard. Gregorian would have been of interest had the yard been in better form and Maarek as well if he didn't have the tendency to play up at the start and miss the break. The stand out bet for me in this is Jack Dexter who was only just touched off by Slade Power in this last year. He has been consistent all year running in group races and he warmed up for this with an excellent 4th behind Louis The Pious over CD. The ground tomorrow will be right up his street as most of his best runs have come in testing conditions. He goes well at the track and everything looks in his favour to go one better than last year. Ellision is not adverse to springing a surprise in a big hcap and whilst his hcap mark is high he has been running with credit throughout the season and this ground may just bring out the necessary improvement to go close here. Race worked out ok with 2nd who was eased down when not looking like winning , won since and a few others have came out and run well. Spiculas is from the Reveley yard and was 3rd to John Reel on his debut which was ok form.
