    Racing on TV

Today must be a rarity - not a single UK meeting being shown on ATR

    Enable

Great news this morning that Enable is to remain in training for 2019 and they are aiming at a third Arc. Huge credit to all connections.
  8. 6.15 Chelmsford - Pearl Spectre - 16/1 This one may be a little speculative but could be worth an ew bet at the prices. The main concern is over the trip, has generally been running over 6f - 1m but steps up to 1m 2f tonight. This gelding is now back down to his last winning mark since winning on the AW at Southwell over 1m earlier this year off 78. I feel that if he can get 1m at Southwell on that deep track then he could get the extra 2f on the polytrack here at Chelmsord where he has already won 3 times. Nicola Currie is on board as usual who gets on really well with the horse. Looking at his last run, he was drawn 11 of 11, broke well but couldn't get a position and was caught wide most of the way with his run petering out in the last couple of furlongs, has been dropped 2lbs for that run and is drawn in 1 tomight. That race has actually worked out pretty well - the only two horses to have run since have both won.
  9. 8.15 Kempton - Havana Beat 28/1 Hills
  10. 8.15 Kemp - Most Celebrated - 33/1 Hills ew
  11. 9.15 Wolves - Lexington Empire - 5/1 I backed this one at Kempton last time thinking that the step up in trip would suit. It did, but he hung very badly left up the wide final straight, absolutely throwing his chances away in the process. He was actually only beaten 3/4 of a length in the end and I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that had he kept straight he would've won the race. Racing around a left handed track tonight should help and I think he has a great chance.
  12. Would you have expected connections to step him up in trip @Striker?
  13. 5.10 Warwick - Skylark Lady 66/1 Hills ew
  14. Operative first race at Sandown. Went off fave here last time out just watched race was given a shocking ride and got hampered. Dropped 2lb and got good draw. 7/1.

  20. Just wondering why the prize money for this race - a Class 2 Stakes race is so lucrative? £148k to the winner!! On the same card, the previous race which is a Group 2, the winner gets a meagre £57k. Is there a special story or history behind this particular race?
  21. Sorry BH don’t mean to make you feel old but I remember getting home from school and seeing it all over the news. I was in the first year of Secondary School so I’ll have been 11 at the time!! I remember being glued to the TV all evening - awful scenes. One I fancy at a bigger price to at least outrun his odds tomorrow is Rossetti in the 6.40 at Salisbury, 18/1 Ladbrokes. 10 year old who has mainly been campaigned as a hurdler/chaser throughout his career but there may be some scope in his flat mark now. Ran on the flat for the first time in a year here last time and finished 8th beaten 6 lengths under an inexperienced rider. Has been dropped 6lbs for that to 66 - his lowest ever mark on the flat. One of the best jockeys around Oisin Murphy takes over from Philip Donovan which is obviously a huge plus.
