  1. 245 Warwick Inn The Bull 9/4 bet365 Alan Kings horses are slowly coming into form and Inn The Bull has had three starts this season and has no excuses at Warwick on Wednesday. A good third last time out over 2m and the form was franked by a good run from Oxwich bay next time out. Moves up in trip now and looks good enough to win off this mark to me.

  3. Ten Tracks To Follow - Jumps

Having done some research into how profitable each course has been (or not) for the PL Tips, I have decided to concentrate on the top ten most profitable tracks that will feature during the Jumps season. The ten in order are: Ascot Newcastle Musselburgh Catterick Carlisle Taunton Bangor Ffos Las Hexham Kelso Will back them at the prices advised, 10pts win or 5pts EW if 8/1 or over. Will update when any of the above meetings take place between Nov 1st and Dec 31st.
  4. Nov 1 Costello makes an early break for it, 13 winners in total
  5. Greyhound memories

Many years ago I got into Greyhound Racing when I lived in Leicester, at that time (late 1970's) it was one of only two grass tracks in the UK, the other one was at Middlesbrough, both now sadly housing estates!! A fried of mine that I played football with had a share in a dog that ran at Leicester called Fur Coat would you believe, it was bred by Fionntra Frolic a very good Irish dog. Anyway Fur Coat was a dinky little thing and always paid rubbish on the Tote because all of the women would back her. One day a shareholder dropped out and I paid a few quid to take his place and became a Greyhound owner for the first time. She won about three weeks later in a photo finish and I asked the Racing manager if i could keep the photo-finish print which I still have somewhere. The point is it got me into the sport for a very little amount of money and I went on to have dogs at Derby (also now a housing estate) and in later years in the North at several tracks. A very good friend of mine used to breed Greyhounds and he talked me into having a pup one Christmas, never buy a pup for Xmas!!!!! The dog never made it to the track, she was scared of the noise the hare made and failed in her initial schooling sessions. I took her home and she became a very loyal pet for 14 years. I later moved up to Hartlepool and got in with a bunch of lads who had some dogs on the flapping circuit, these tracks for those that don't know are not regulated by the official NGRC and can be very dodgy indeed. I have known good dogs turn up at these meetings under false names and win by half a track. To be continued......

250 Fakenham Broadway Belle 7/2 bet365 Going to take a chance on Broadway Belle at Fakenham who is up against one of Olly Murphy's mares and he has booked Richard Johnson to ride so an obvious threat. If nothing else it gives us a much bigger price and i quiet like the fact that trainer Chris Grant has booked Brian Hughes for the first time. I noticed this mare running a decent race two starts back without ever threatening, she did similar at Kelso last time and has found a nice weak contest here and they travel a fair way down from the North.

Another 5 odds on shots beaten today, very strange results again!
  9. Eclipse Stakes - Final (Nottingham)

source: Sporting Life It has been billed as the race of the year and the Sky Sports cameras are at Nottingham for a tremendous Betfred Eclipse final (9.08) tonight. Six stars of the track do battle for the £8,000 first prize over 500m in one of the best finals in recent memory and it really is a race to savour. Bubbly Bluebird brings an unbeaten record into the final as he looks to go two better than his third 12 months ago and Paul Young's speedster will attempt to blaze a trail again, but the competition could hardly be more fierce. Select Stakes hero Dorotas Wildcat and All England Cup winner Droopys Expert bounced back to their best with semi-final victories and also bring good early speed to the party. Exciting litter brothers Calico Blackjack and Calico Ranger will be looking to come with their crowd-pleasing late runs and could be in business if there is crowding on the inside. The only finalist without a victory in the event so far is Bruisers Bullet (T1), but he gets his draw on the rails when it matters most and could make that count. The Derby semi-finalist only failed to reel in Bubbly Bluebird by a neck last Monday when he found trouble in the black jacket again, and a much better start is expected now switched to the fence. Those two runs back from a long layoff should have Mark Wallis' dog spot-on for this decider and his position on the rails could see him squeeze round in front when they race into that first bend.

2.40 Plumpton Chef D'Equipe 9/4 bet365 Typical rubbish Monday so lets try and get in and get out with a winner, I expect a couple of odds on shots to oblige but we wont get rich picking them and people only seem to 'like' big winners around here!! Anyway I liked the way this ran on his UK debut for his amateur rider, he pulled his arms out for most of the journey and he will know a bit more this time.

Yes mate, you could see it from the flyover, Cleveland Park. Didn't know it was footy pitches, would have been close to the old Ayresome Park?
