amity
Re: Wimbledon 2013 Watched Lopez dispatch Simon in straight sets earlier and I have to say his serving is the best I've seen of anyone so far, 21 aces in three sets Simon is a good returner but it took him til the third set to get to grips with Lopez's serve, and even then, he still never broke him the entire match I can see Lopez beating Haas but then it's Novak, but even he could struggle with the Spaniard's artillery Just threw a speculative 50c e/w on him at 250/1 anyway! (Paddy Power) If he could somehow find a way past Djokovic his odds would plummet (unlikely scenario I know but hey)
JuMeSyn
Re: Wimbledon 2013 Also been thinking about Pennetta, to be honest. But don't know if Pennetta has what it takes in grass. Anyone saw her win? Did she look comfortable? Last year's performance at grass level by the italian?
TRowley007
Re: Wimbledon 2013 Hi JuMeSyn, I watched Pennetta's last match against Baltacha and she looked very good, certainly a cut above Baltacha. She was very accurate and made few errors. If I was looking at the handicap +6.5 games I would be looking to side with her against Azarenka who hasn't quite been at her best recently and although she won easily against a weaker opponent in the first round, also took a heavy fall towards the end. Just my humble opinion though but I reckon Pennetta should at least be fairly competitive.
JuMeSyn
Re: Wimbledon 2013 Thanks for the good info. Flavia Pennetta +5.5 games is 2.10 at bet365. Might take a hunch at it, will decide better tomorrow morning.

Torque
Re: Wimbledon 2013 Back Ernests Gulbis to beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga @ 4.90 >Betfair I can see Tsonga having problems here against Gulbis, as this is exactly the sort of match the Latvian relishes. Tsonga is expected to do well at this tournament, but that shouldn't faze Gulbis. He was in a similar situation last year when he played Berdych on Centre Court, and he won that match in straight sets. His serve played a big part that day, and he held his nerve well to win each set on a tie break. If he can serve well against Tsonga then I think this match could follow a similar pattern, and that might give Gulbis a good chance to beat the Frenchman for the first time. I don't think Tsonga is in the best of form right now, and I wonder if he is finding it difficult to shake the memory of his poor performance against Ferrer at the French Open. On his day, I think Gulbis is good enough to win this match, and at this price I'm quite happy to pay to see if it is his day.
JuMeSyn
Re: Wimbledon 2013 Don't also forger the rumours that Tsonga has told the day before Wimbledon that he wasn't feeling completely well, and trained with a bandage on Sunday. He also didn't look impressive against Goffin. #Tsonga se dit fatigué, il a un bandage au genou et il a un tableau compliqué = ça s'annonce compliqué cette année à Londres @ten_match
RuleBritaniaa
Re: Wimbledon 2013 Lucic to beat Suarez Navarro 2.43 Pinnacle (4/10 points) Lucic has heart, is composed, good when it most matters, serves big, did well here last season and plays good when the stage is big. Carla is every opposite to that and a complete headcase mug, she lacks a lot character to be a successful tennis player and has proven time after time she can't hack the big stage. This is the ultimate time of Lucic's season, with grass being one of her better surfaces and therefore she will have the will to win to eventually prevail. Fader
Re: Wimbledon 2013 I don't see Gulbis giving Tsonga many problems atall. I do see him getting a set but that's mainly because Tsonga gives everybody a set he plays against :) Tsonga always shines when he plays on the grass. These 2 have played 3 times and all 3 have been won by Tsonga. The only players that have beaten Tsonga on the grass in the last 15 matches have been Murray & Djokovic so I certainly can't see it being Gulbis. Fader
Re: Wimbledon 2013 Something alittle different - 2pt treble - Tsonga -4.5 / Puig to win 2-0 / Lucic-Baroni to win 8.00 Bet365 Tsonga for reasons above. I see him winning it 3-1 so if he can keep the set he loses tight and hit a set comfortable should cover the hanidcap. Puig is playing very well and beat Errani. I know Errani may of been injured but Id fancy Puig even before that Errani win here and Lucic Baroni I've added as I don't think 2.25 on her is value however combined all 3 of these give me enough to go as a treble. Fader
Re: Wimbledon 2013 Both have good serves and both have above 92% win rate on their serve so I expect sets to be tight. I just think Tsonga will have that one 6-2 set to cover my handicap bet. I don't want to make it a big single bet so I thought the 3 of them together are a good little treble. Good luck. Guardiola
Re: Wimbledon 2013 Some thoughts on today´s matches. 1) MAHUT (-3,5 games) to beat ROBREDO. 1,90 @ pinnacle (9/10) Mahut should have the upper hand here as we will watching a game between a grass courter and a clay courter. Mahut is in very good shape, serves well, vollies well and has some decent returns. The winner of s´Hertogenbosch also has enough confidence to get through here as he has nothing to lose: A week ago he won his first single tournament ever (and he is over 30 years old). I simply believe that Robredo doesn´t have the sort of tennis that is needed to cause real trouble to someone like Mahut here. 2) DARCIS to beat KUBOT. 1,81 @ pinnacle (9/10). I´m really surprised to read some tips that fancy Kubot here. In my opinion, Darcis is the well-deserved favorite in this match-up, and I do not overrate his win against Nadal. It was a straight set win against an injured Nadal, and it was a very convincing performance of Darcis, but: What makes me confident with this pick is that Darcis has definitively what it takes to beat decent players on a grass court as his stlye of play is very flexible. Perhaps he lacks the big strokes at some times, but he plays consistent, with his head on and is able to put pressure on his opponent. He has shown that against Nadal two days ago, he shown that against Berdych last year at the Olympics, he has shown that with his positive record on grass. And: Kubot isn´t even a decent player, he is very average. He has his serve, okay. But he lacks the consistency and because of these weak moments, he will lose here. 3) BROWN vs. HEWITT over 36 games. 1,98 @ pinnacle (8/10) Brown is able to cause some trouble to Hewitt here with his hit-or-miss play. If Hewitt plays on the same level that he has shown against Wawrinka, he will win in under games. But I don´t think he will. Some weaker moments of Hewitt mixed with a hit series of Brown, and one set is off and the overs are on. 4) TSONGA vs. GULBIS over 41 games. 1,97 @ marathonbet (8/10). I can see Gulbis fighting here: Big crowd, big game, his opponent as a clear favorite. Tsonga didn´t look that impressive at all, especially at his return game, so I fancy Gulbis here at least to get to some tie-breaks. If he wins one of them, the overs should be fully in range. 5) HSIEH (-2,5 games) to beat CORNET. 1,95 @ marathonbet (7/10). Fancy Hsieh here as she has the more powerful play that fits better on grass. Cornet lacks these powerful strokes as she is a typical clay-courter. Above all, Hsieh is a decent double player, therefore she has what it takes to play successfully at the net. That should be enough to beat Cornet here. 6) GIORGI to beat CIRSTEA. 2,70 @ marathonbet (7/10). I´m a bit surprised with this price here as I would see this match pretty even. Giorgi got to the forth round last year, beating the likes of Pennetta and Petrova, only losing to finalist Radwanska. And you don´t really know the result in a match in which Cirstea takes part: Does she hit or does she miss? Nice fact: Giorgi lost to Vekic last week 7-6 6-3, Cirstea lost 6-2 6-1...Of course, cross-comparisons are not really meaningful at tennis, but 2,70 is value here. 7) BEGEMANN/EMMRICH (-4,5 games) to beat KUDLA/SMYCZEK. 1,94 @ marathonbet (8/10) BEGEMANN/EMMRICH to beat KUDLA/SMYCZEK 3:0. 2,70 @ marathonbet (4/10) This should be clear win for the probably best German double at the moment. They will face two American that have no more than challenger level, and I don´t get why Begemann/Emmrich are still so underrated. They won at Düsseldorf, beating Nielsen/Sa, Huey/Inglot. They got to the final of s´Hertogenbosch, beating top doubles like Quershi/Rojer, Llodra/Mahut and Huey/Inglot on grass, losing only to Mirnyi/Tecau. Their only weaker performance in the recent weeks was at Roland Garros where they got crushed by Fyrstenberg/Matkowski. They should really have the upper hand here. 8) HEWITT/KNOWLES (-2,5 games) to beat DELGADO/EBDEN. 1,83 @ marathonbet (7/10) I fancy Hewitt/Knowles here. Knowles is 41 years old, but still has the pace to be a very good double player. And this is Hewitt, too, especially on grass. Delgado/Ebden played togehter this year at the Nottingham challengers, not very succesful. Delgado´s serve is quite weak when you consider that he is double specialist. With Hewitt big returns, there should be some opportunities.
CzechPunter
Re: Wimbledon 2013 Back Yaroslava Shvedova (+1.5 sets) to beat Petra Kvitova for a 3/10 stake at 1.79 with Pinnacle Back Yaroslava Shvedova to beat Petra Kvitova for a 2/10 stake at 3.11 with Pinnacle Kvitova nearly threw the entire match away against Vandeweghe and also had to receive some medical attention, so it is hard to see her cruising through to the third round against someone like Shvedova. Of course, she might have a good day and crush her, but she hasn't had a good day for months and I can see her struggling heavily against her today's opponent, who recorded a straightforward victory over Bertens in the opening round. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/shvedova-vs-kvitova-betting-the-czech-number-one-looks-set-to-struggle-once-again-in-the-second-round-20130626 Back Petra Cetkovska (+1.5 sets) to beat Caroline Wozniacki for a 3/10 stake at 1.84 with Pinnacle Back Petra Cetkovska to beat Caroline Wozniacki for a 2/10 stake at 3.12 with Pinnacle I am still not convinced about Wozniacki and Cetkovska has the right playing style to trouble her in might opinion. She has gone through four rounds without even dropping a set, so she should feel very comfortable out there and I can see her variety of shots being too much for Wozniacki to deal with. Unless the pressure gets to her, I can see Cetkovska being very competitive in this one. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/cetkovska-vs-wozniacki-betting-petra-cetkovska-might-be-able-to-trouble-caroline-wozniacki-in-london-20130626 Back John Isner (-4.5) to beat Adrian Mannarino for a 5/10 stake at 1.90 with Pinnacle That was a good win over Andujar for Mannarino, but this will be a completely different ball-game and I cannot see him getting anywhere near Isner's serve. Of course, it won't be easy for Isner to break the Frenchman, but his serve tends to be a bit lackluster at times and this line potentially requires only one break for Isner, so there you go, this seems worth taking to me. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/isner-vs-mannarino-betting-john-isner-should-be-way-too-strong-for-the-frenchman-20130626 Back Juan Monaco (-5.5) to beat Rajeev Ram for a 5/10 stake at 2.00 with Ladbrokes Grass might not be Monaco's favourite surface, but there is a gulf of class between him and Rajeev Ram, so this handicap should get covered more often than not in my opinion. Ram's win over Lacko might look good, but he was losing against the likes of Kern and Bemelmans before that, so I cannot believe that he will be able to do too much damage against someone as classy as the Argentinian. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/monaco-vs-ram-betting-juan-monaco-should-like-the-match-up-in-the-second-round-of-this-year-s-wimbledon-20130626
IAmGooner
Re: Wimbledon 2013 Mens R2 - Hewitt vs Brown OVER 33.5 games @ 1.83 (PPower:4pts) Rusty is playing some immense tennis right now, proper grass court tennis and it's great to see him outplaying the likes of Wawrinka, Del Potro in recent weeks. I do think he will come through today aswell but Brown is certainly capable of making it more competitive than the odds suggest with his style of play and powerful serve. Hewitt in tight 3 or 4 sets is my feeling. Womens R2 - Cetkovska +1.5 sets vs Wozniacki @ 1.847 (Pinnacle:3pts) Can only agree with the lads on this one. I really dont like Wozniacki and her boring pusher style, but you need to play smart tennis to beat her, try to make keep the errors low and go for you shots as Wozniacki wont do much different bar move the ball from side to side. I was on Cetkovska vs Vekic and she destroyed the youngster, and appears to be playing well. She has some variety to trouble Wozniacki here and get a set at least. homunculus
Re: Wimbledon 2013 Taking Pospisil to bt this clown Youzhnyi @7.04 Pinnacle (2/10) Pospisil is very talented young Canadian giant. He is firing aces all over, and is really hard to break. Youzhny appears to have acquired an injury during his match with Haase in R1. The upset is very likely. Also taking Halep to bt Li Na @2.71 Pinnacle (5/10) Halep on her dream run in last two weeks. And I see no signs of tiredeness. She leads H2H 1-0, and I don't see any other reason fo Li Na being the fav except the ranking. The odds are falling rapidly. Shvedova to bt Kvitova @3.11 Pinnacle (5/10) Kvitova was lucky to escape the defeat in R1. She somehow managed to lose the second set against poor Vandeweghe, and she was very lucky to get good start in the third, thus demoralizing Vandeweghe. Shvedova is in pretty good form lately, and is going to give Kvit hard times. and finally Jovanovski to bt Flipkens @3,05 Pinnacle (5/10) Flipkens is the losing finalist from last week sHertogenbosh tournament. Being losing finalist on your almost-home soil never adds to your confidence, and Flipkens really had troubles to beat lame Putintseva in R1. H2H is 2-1 for Flipkens, with Jovanovski winning in BEL-SRB Fed Cup played last year in Belgia. This may be tight, but I expect Bojana to send Flipkens packing. talkinggoat
Re: Wimbledon 2013 These are my fancies for today..... All are either the inform player, or playing against an opponent with a slight injury concern or poor form on grass. Janowicz 8/11 Verdasco 1/1 Mahut 4/9 Gulbris 3/1 - I think Tsonga is going through a bad patch, the way he loset to Ferrer was as if hes lost his confidence and energy. Also mutterings of an injury. Darcis 4/6 - Big let down possible after beating Nadal i however think hes in the form of his life, a lot of players would still have lost to Nadal in the 1st round. Darcis also played very well recently against Wawrinka. I have these 5 selections as £10 cross doubles so total stake £100, see what my return is. Fun way to bet these early rounds. Ive also taken Isner at a huge price on Betfair 300/1, hoping he gets through the next couple rounds so i can trade it off once his price shortens a lot.
