I think I posted one at 10/11 this time round but generally I prefer to try and find something with a real chance 6/4 to 7/2. I did put up a 20/1 shot that won but only because I had it on my tracker. Maybe I am old fashioned but when I see pro tipsters in the media writing a full page article telling me some long odds on shot will win a novice chase I cringe. For me it's the same on here when I see someone constantly putting up the shortest priced horse they can find in an effort to manipulating the game/competition. Anyway the powers that be seem to think that's ok so I will say no more Happy punting all

tonight I have gone for Haaland and Mbappe. Haaland has scored first in his last 4 / 5 matches. I wonder if you blindly bet him to score first in each game would you make or lose money over a season? Maybe something to consider for 2024 / 2025 season!

Factually incorrect to refer to that as abuse. The rules of the competition are what they are and betting again when you can't be caught would be daft. You've got the job done early and obliterated the field. Whilst the competition will never be entirely true to real life (there are rules around minimum number of selections etc.) a rule that effectively compels you to bet every day rather than exercise selectivity and judgement would be a bad one. No one expects the clubhouse leader with an unassailable lead to go out and play another couple of holes. This has been covered before and the overriding consensus was "if it ain't broke". Those people who don't like the "most winners" angle don't like it full stop. Apply a "no odds on" rule (again contrary to the real world where people are free to back or tip at whatever price they choose) and they'll just moan about how anyone can post a succession of even money shots and that's not "real punting". If "anyone" can hit a 69% strike rate with a 38.8% ROI month in, month out by backing odds on shots then anyone who doesn't do so is frankly an idiot and not much of a punter to be leaving that sort of profit in the bookies' satchels. Well there's plenty of scope to start or add to discussions in the daily threads etc. What gets me is someone who chooses to contribute little beyond entering a free competition (that they can't apparently even win a prize in) grumbling about the way said competition is run.

I voiced my opinion to you recently about disallowing any selections that are odds on Having won the KO Cup in the past I never got paid because in my country we are not allowed a paypal account So I am in it just for the fun so please don't see this as sour grapes it is not.. If I finish runner up my prize I would like to go to the 3rd guy whoever that might be. First off: The way the competition is set up it is open to abuse. Like the current leader can now just sit there make no selection without penalty and take the prize? That could easily be sorted by saying no selection is a loser Constantly sticking up 4/11 and 4/9 shots is as much to do with tipping as flying in the air. IMVHO any selection that is odds on at time of selection should be deemed a loser. If it goes odds on after selected that would be acceptable. The way things stand a player needs a couple of 3/1 winners and then put in the shortest priced horse he/she can find and it's almost odds on they will scoop a prize In the meantime congratulations to the winner he never made up the rules so good on him. What gets me is this is not a site known for discussing racing. Take last years Champion Hurdle for example.........8 replies If it were a discussion forum there would be 8 replies or more a week. It is basically a place for would be tipsters and if putting up 1/3 shots is tipping I am a Dutchman.

Abedallah Shelbayh to beat Luca Van Assche at 2.75 with William Hill I'm playing this for the odds. Nothing is expected from Shelbayh, but he's "the local guy", and Van Assche was awful last time out, losing 2-6 0-6 against Fery. No reason to have Shelbayh at 2.75 here imo, I'd be 2.25.

I have to say that the National League fixtures in all 3 divisions look really tough this weekend and I only have one bet. It is however a max bet at odds on which is something I rarely do, but confidence is high and for me the value is there. There are 4 other bets at Step 3. Oldham v Ebbsfleet You could see that Micky Mellon has improved Oldham on Wednesday nightagainst Barnet. Having seen some of the comical goals that Barnet have been conceding of late I think he knew that they could allow Barnet plenty of the ball, but they would get their chances. It is no surprise to see that Barnet had 75% of the ball in the first 15 minutes and then 70% in the following 15, but they did very little with it as Oldham made themselves very hard to breakdown. The first shot Oldham had was the penalty which was gifted to them and Barent were fortunate not to have the keeper sent off. In the 2nd half Barnet equalised with a penalty which ended up being their only shot on target. They had looked more likely to kick on and win the game at that stage, but they didn't have another shot for nearly 20 minutes when the game was long gone. Oldham punished Barnet's defensive mistakes which is no surprise given they have someone of the quality of Norwood. If Barnet had taken the good chances that came their way in the first half after the goal maybe we would have seen a different result, but it was the perfect away performance and Oldham have a talented squad. I rarely tip up odds on shots especially ones as short as Oldham, but for me they look good things to beat Ebbsfleet. They did get a point on Tuesday against Maidenhead, but they created very little and had an xG of just 0.16. They are in dreadful form and Oldham should have way too much for them. AFC Sudbury v Stourbridge I don't dip into the Southern Premier Central too often as highlighted by the fact I've only put up 3 bets in the division so far this season. 2 of the 3 bets have been winners though and I am doubling the amount of bets had on Saturday. I will also be content if the number of winners doubles as well. Sudbury have won 3 of their last 4 games including beating Coalville on Tuesday night 3-0. I'd make them favs to beat a Stourbridge who hadn't won in the league for 7 games until beating Long Eaton 3-0 on Tuesday. They are dreadful though (just 4 points so far) and Sudbury put 6 past them recently themselves. The value is there in a home win for me. Berkhamsted v St Ives Berkhamsted aren't much better than Long Eaton and have also won just once this season although 7 draws have helped them get 10 points. St Ives had also only one just once in the league prior to their 3 game winning spell they are currently on. They have beaten Coalville and Halesowen in that spell as well so it isn't like they are beaten rubbish and there is clear improvement in the side. They were 1 up against Aveley in the FA Trophy last week as well before losing 2-1, but that was still a very good effort. If they take those performances into this game then they ought to make it 4 league wins on the bounce. Mickleover v Nuneaton Despite all the off the field issues at Nuneaton they have been doing really well on the pitch. They have won 8 of their last 10 league games and have won 5 on the bounce. They look over priced to beat top of the table Mickleover who after going on an impressive winning run at the start of the season have now not won in 5 league games and lost to Kettering 2-0 on Tuesday night which was a big shock. I don't think there is much between these two sides and therefore the price on Nuneaton is over the odds for me. Carshalton v Wingate & Finchley Into the Isthmian Premier for the last bet of the weekend and I think the away side are a big price to beat a Carshalton side who are struggling after a good start to the season. They have won just one in their last 8 league games and were hammered 4-0 by Hastingson Tuesday night. Wingate's last 10 games have seen them win 5, lose 5, score 19 and concede 19. They did lose on Tuesday 2-1 to Chatham, but they are better than Carshalton and I think Wingate are in better nick than their hosts at the moment. Horsham v Barnsley and Cray Valley Paper Mills V Charlton I am grouping the two live FA Cup replays together as basically they are pretty similar. It was a hell of a performance from Horsham to get a 3-3 draw at Barnsley, but it was a bit of a freak result where they pretty much converted every chance that came their way and Barnsley created plenty that they didn't score. I can't see the same happening on Tuesday and I will take the League 1 side to cover the -2 handicap. Charlton were awful in the first game against their local opponents. After taking an early lead I thought they would kick on and win easy which they didn't. It was clear making 11 changes didn't work and even though some of the big guns came on in the 2nd half I thought Cray were fairly comfortable and fully deserved the replay. From the 66th minute until the end Charlton had just two shots in the 87th and 88th minute. I can't see them making so many changes again and I think they will look to get the job done as quickly as possible and then you can take the likes of May off. A League 1 side should be beating a Step 4 side easily given the gulf in class and hopefully at the 2nd time of asking Charlton can show that and overcome the -2 handicap. In answer to your question about odds for the next day you'll usually find bet365 are the first firm to issue odds for the next day at between 4 o'clock and 5 o'clock although William Hill do issue a few select races at the 48 hour stage so its worth watching out for them as well.
