Weekly Naps Competition - Monday 25th May

Re: Weekly Naps Competition - Monday 25th May Apprentice Handicap race with 10 going to post, looks a poor looking race so a very low investment interest only. Trainer Michael Bell's 4yr old gelding has pretty much done nothing in 14 starts, but with the magic visor fitted today could just spark a tiny bit of life into him, he only beat 1 home last time out at Lingfield under Michael Kenneally, Lulu is back in the plate for the 6th attempt and in a race of this poor nature anything can happen. 5:25 Leicester - Jayeff Herring. 1pt Win Bet @ 12/1 Skybet , , , ,''BOG''

Re: Weekly Naps Competition - Monday 25th May Leic 2.40 - Everywish - win at 25/1 bog PP Seller My selection has only had two runs in maidens and drops into a Seller The race she ran in last time looked OK......a Windsor maiden with runners from some big yards, Goldolphin, Balding, Stoute. She was a well beaten 6th but this should be easier and she might improve after only two visits to the track. The horse that finished immediately behind her has won a handicap

Re: Weekly Naps Competition - Monday 25th May 2.00 Carlisle Rylee Mooch is the obvious form horse but at 15/8 looks short for one who's form on GF is; 5776429. He usually needs a bigger break between runs, too. Tom Sawyer looks a danger but Little Eli is the one that will carry my money and at current odds, looks over priced. Thr 5yo will act in conditions and should go close on his best form. Little Eli 1pt Win @ 8/1 Paddy Power

Re: Weekly Naps Competition - Monday 25th May Redcar 3.55: Master Of Finance @ 7/2 bet365 win thanks Master Of Finance.....from Mark Johnston yard who runs the top two at the weights the other being Fire Fighting both are 4yo so there probably more improvement to come , Master Of Finance has won three times from 7f to 1m 2f on good and good to soft ground and was unlucky in its last race 12 days ago at York 1m 2f where it led over 2f out and went clear only to die in last 200 yards to lose by 1/2 lengths to favourite Mahsoob from John Gosden yard, Its not like Mark Johnston horse to die at death as there usually plenty of stamina in his horses so I expect they've worked on it in last 12 days and I expect a big run today with Adrian Nicholls in the saddle for the first time.

Re: Weekly Naps Competition - Monday 25th May 3.50 Leicester - Gold Flash 1pt Win (8/1 BetVictor) On the face of things he looks to have a bit of work on at the weights to reverse the form with the re-opposing Charlie Croker from last time out (3lb turn around for a length and a bit beating), but I think he could well have been in need of the run there as he came to win the race at around the furlong pole but faded late on. He is also entitled to improve on that performance after only two career starts, pedigree is all about speed and also a half brother to the smart Hallelujah so reasonable to expect that he is capable of more. Very competitive race but happy to take my chances with the 8/1 available tonight.

Re: Weekly Naps Competition - Monday 25th May 2.40 Leicester - Percella win @ 4/1 Bet365 Percella ran in some half decent races last year and placed in 2 of the 4. She came back after a break of over 100 days and ran poorly on her handicap debut but she is entitled to have needed that and could easily improve. She is also only a 3yo so improvement is expected. She is down into a seller today for the first time and looks well treated at these weights. She has the third highest rating in the field and is getting 14lbs+ from the two higher rated horses. Furthermore, all but one of the field is giving her upwards of 5lbs. Her best runs so far have come on the AW but she has only run on turf once and that was on her debut which featured horses like Redstart and Star Of Seville who have gone on to win a group 3 each so I'm not too concerned that she is back on turf. My main concern is that she is unproven at this trip as she has yet to run over this far and I wouldn't be surprised if she can run a big race over a new trip in a poor contest.

Re: Weekly Naps Competition - Monday 25th May C2.35 Dutch Breeze 10/1 Bet365 The horses sole career win came over very similar distance and ground to todays and it hasn't encountered those conditions much in its career so can go close again off a 4lb lower mark. The extra tick in the box is the trainer form that is 1-1-1 from his last 3 and this horse also has a positive on sire stats being progeny of Dutch Art which has a 29% (5 from 17) record at the course.

Re: Weekly Naps Competition - Monday 25th May 5.35 - Redcar - Rainford Glory - 5/1 - BetVic BOG Back to last winning mark of 53, was second off this mark last time out. Usually runs over 1m 4f but worth a crack at 1m 6f. Won on good to firm off this mark on his last win so 5/1 seems fair enough.

Re: Weekly Naps Competition - Monday 25th May 4.10 Cartmel: Alderbrooke Lad 12/1 Skybet/Bet365 This one was running well against Anay Turge and La Bacardy at Market Rasen until making a right bad blunder at the 10th. He's not won over fences for a while but this track should bring out the best in him being a bold front runner. Yard going well and looks fairly handicapped at present.

Re: Weekly Naps Competition - Monday 25th May 3.45 Cologne: German 2000 Guineas (Group 2) Excellent line-up for the German 2000 Guineas. The home team looks to have a very strong hand and it could be tough for the foreign raiders to land a blow. Andreas Wöhler trains two exciting colts in Karpino and Making Trouble. The former is trading as the red hot favourite after he won the Dr. Busch Memorial (G3) in excellent fashion on his seasonal debut, which was only his second career start. He drops slightly in trip today, which must not be an inconvenience, but he might be vulnerable against speedier sorts I feel, as he poses a very stamina laden pedigree. Stable mate Making Trouble has the 1 mile trip written all over as a son of former world class miler Paco Boy. He won a Listed event over 1.500m on his seasonal reappearance in really good style and is expected to come on for the run. He should certainly improve for the step up to 1m and his trainer voiced satisfaction with Making Trouble's progress prior to the big race. Brisanto won the Group 3 Preis des Winterfavoriten in horrible conditions when last seen in October 2014. He's a definite player if race fit, though the better ground is not sure to suite entirely. Agent Provocateur can't be ruled out with fitness assured. He won a Conditions Race in France earlier this month and should get the additional furlong today but obviously has to raise his game in order to be competitive in this field. Irish raider Capella Sansevero tries to redeem himself today after a lacklustre performance in the Newmarket 2000 Guineas. The runner-up of last years Coventry Stakes is a very speedy sort and that means he is not a sure stayer. On pedigree it's doubtful and his last run doesn't instil much confidence either. Maroc Botti has a proven track record in this race so it seems significant that he brings progressive Fanciful Angel over to Cologne. He won a Listed event at Lingfield last month and could have easily more to offer. More is needed here today, though, as this form hasn't really worked out yet. Verdict: If Karpino fails to fire today then the win can still go Andreas Wöhler's way. His second string Making Trouble seems overpriced. He was impressive when winning a Listed event recently and should improve for the new trip. He can provide a first classic success for his sire Paco Boy and has clearly inherited a lot from his prominent daddy, most notably the sharp turn of foot. Making Trouble @ 12/1 Bet365
