  2. A very good morning to all on Gold Cup day. No luck yesterday and seem to be banging my head against a brick wall this month to try and make some profit (good thing is up to today I am still 0.5 pts in profit on the month, LOL). Anyway hoping for better things in the second part of the month once we have got the general chaos of Cheltenham out the way, and we get back to the more mundane stuff. So for the last day I am pushing the boat out a bit pricewise and chancing my arm in the hope of a better second half of the month after today. These will be my plays for day four of the big one: Cheltenham 1.20 BLUE LEMONS e/w @ 14/1 (generally) 4 places Cheltenham 2.00 CRACKING RHAPSODY e/w @ 50/1 (generally) 5 places Cheltenham 3.20 INTENSE APPROACH e/w @ 16/1 (bet365/bet victor/ladbrokes) 4 places Cheltenham 4.40 SHEARER @ 9/1 (ladbrokes/unibet) * 4 points staked today. The very best of luck to those who play, just enjoy the day.

  5. Dettori bankrupt eh? I have no sympathy, there are job jockeys all up and down the country that struggle to make a living. stable staff are borderline in poverty and this bloke cant even pay his taxes? Never mind blaming financial advisors the buck stops with him. He was estimated to be worth ---- Last year Dettori, whose net worth had previously been estimated at £15 million, rode 81 winners with his mounts earning more than $13 million in prize-money. In 2025, Dettori has ridden 11 winners with his rides earning just over $1m.

  10. A loss of 4 points today with no winners so this month is currently showing a 3.5 point loss on the month. Overall with making 70 points on the first two months of the year, it is still currently a successful one being overall 66.5 points in profit. Have decided now however, NOT to log my bets anymore as I feel I am becoming TOO bothered about loss and profit. Betting I'm sure you will all agree SHOULD be enjoyable and NOT OBSESSIVE. From tomorrow will simply just put up bets I fancy without logging them any more and just continue to hopefully bang in a few winners for you chaps here and there. WW.

  11. Well this one delivered in good style today at the festival i took a few 8/1's available when it was known that the Martin Pipe was the target i must admit i thought it should of been in a higher grade but i am going to see what price it will be for next years champion hurdle.

  13. Your completely right very unpredictable with the quality of all players left and form there in as you say. Thats why i am going for the outright market instead of picking winners in the semis. Think its a case of picking your horse now and hope it runs a good race. Maybe theres value getting these odds now especially if upset in other semi, for example if keys manages to win and plays swiatek in final. I am just going with swiatek as feel more solid player if in form. But wont be surprised with any result to be honest.

The majority of my nap bets are horses that I am putting real money on although generally on Betfair rather than with the bookies. The only exception is if I'm going for the most winners. Personally for me it's the kudos of winning rather than the actual prize money. I tend to concentrate on the flat racing, I struggle to make money on the jumps.

  24. But neither ever really end , I think you get 4/5 weeks break after winter before summer jumps start but for me personally I'll do naps from March - October as with comps I'd do them with or without any prize monies etc... without people taking part then you have no PL .

  25. For me, it is not often that you see the 4 best players in the world (on form), in the semi-finals of a tournament. Normally at this point, two/more of the top 6 seeds has had a bad match and is gone (so Gauff and Pegula). But on current form it is very difficult to go against any of the 4 semi-finalists. Aussie Open champ | Aussie open runner-up | Swiatek who can be incredible | Andreeva who is playing the best tennis of her life. Swiatek in her last 17 matches on hard, won 14 lost 3 (Andreeva, Keys, Ostapenko) Keys has won 17 of her last 18 matches (won Adelaide, Aussie Open ... 1 loss to Tauson) . Highest level. Andreeva with 14 wins in 17 also playing at her highest level (2 losses to Sabalenka, 1 to Sramkova). Bad losses to Sabalenka. Sabalenka also 14 of 17 wins (3 loses Tauson, Alexandrova,Keys) . Tauson with 2 wins here which is eye opening. I wish you the best with your bet, but for me these 2 matches are far from the 'low hanging fruit'. These are very difficult to predict, and it would be easy to get both wrong. In addition, Andreeva beat Swiatek the last time they played. Ithink if Andreeva was playing Keys and Swiatek v Sabalenka the bet may be easier to win.

It would likely be a 6-month flat comp and a 6-month jumps comp. NAPs comps, I'm talking about. yeah, the comps are getting more popular and the forum on the whole is. I think all the competitions we have on the forum do well.

  39. Fakenham 4.55 preview Well I was hoping last year's winner Rebel Dawn Rising was going to run, but to be fair he would have been long odds on to beat this lot so there might not have been a bet anyway. I am very keen on Go Go Geronimo though and he could give Kelly Morgan a quick double as we are of course also on Music Drive at Cheltenham and that race will finish about 7 minutes before this one starts. This is by far the weakest Hunter Chase he has run. In 2022 he was a neck 2nd in the Intermediate Final at Cheltenham and then only went down 0.75L in the John Corbet Cup a month later at Stratford. The following season after two point wins they ran him at the Festival, but not surprisingly he pulled up after being prominent. Last season his only Hunter Chase run was back in the John Corbet and he was a well beaten 3rd after making the running again. Clearly he isn't as good as he was, but he's still a very solid horse and I am fairly confident he's the best of these. This season he was 2nd to Fairly Famous on New Years Eve and then he won a fair race Revesby Park. Last month he was a 28L 2nd to Fier Jaguen, but he was never going to lead ahead of him and that horse looks in better form than he was last season. It was a solid run a couple of weeks later when 2nd to Camdonian and he's been off for a month since then. He has often worn cheekpieces, but the visor goes on for the first time and that should help him. He loves good ground and I think he will make all. My only slight concern is the outsider Cooldine Bog as he often front runs as well and I just hope he doesn't put too much pressure on, but given he's fairly limited I hope that the selection can see him off without using too much energy up. Amenon did win a Hunter Chase at Huntingdon last year on his first start for his owner/trainer/rider. That race was worse than this though and he has a penalty thanks to winning it. He was then well beaten in a much better race at Cartmel. He made his return 12 days ago at Charm Park, but he was stuffed and Camdonian was way in front of him in 3rd. That form leaves him with plenty to find. The betting has it down as a match and that is how it should be with Janika the danger to the selection. He won a Hunter Chase here in 2023 but was very lucky to do so as Rebel Dawn Rising was well clear when unseating at the last. Last season he pulled up in this race and didn't run well at all although it was a stronger heat to be fair. His runs after that weren't awful as a 21L 4th to Lift Me Up at Kimble over 2m4f and a close 2nd to Bothwell Bridge were fair efforts. This season he returned in the same race that Go Go Geronimo was 2nd to Fier Jaguen at Garthorpe and he pulled up. It was much better back there 3 weeks later as he travelled well and won by 5L. However the 2nd was also from Kelly Morgan's yard and carried 8lbs more whilst the 3rd carried 10lbs more. He also had Heidi Palin on top and for me this is a downgrade in jockey. On the jockey front to be fair none of them are anything special and Go Go Geronimo's jockey has yet to ride a winner under rules although has gone close on him and Janika's rider's only winner under rules was Janika's lucky win. Bet365 had put Go Go in as 2nd fav and I expected the rest to follow suit, but sadly they all put him in at odds on so the 11/10 has gone. I still think he's a bet though because I think he should be around 4/7 myself. Go Go Geronimo 3pts @ 4/5 with William Hill and Ladbrokes, Betfred and Coral (365 are 10/11 and take up to 8/13)
