It's a reduced schedule in this section this week due to the international break. It is also the Scottish League Challenge Cup so a lot of the teams not affected by international duty are involved in that competition too. Take a look at the odds and ratings above then let us know your thoughts on these games in League 1, League 2, Scottish Championship, and Scottish League 2. :ok

Barnsley vs Luton

Going against the old betting mantra of never backing a side in the early kick-off. It's the midday game tomorrow between Barnsley and Luton at Oakwell in this League One clash between two sides that are starting to show themselves to be worthy promotion contenders.

Barnsley are sitting in 4th place in the division on 22 points. The Tykes have played one game less than the teams around them so winning here will move them into the automatic promotion spots. It's a huge credit to head coach Daniel Stendel who took over from Jose Morais in the summer. He's given the Yorkshire side a new lease of life after their relegation from the Championship last season.

Luton are exceeding expectations already this season. After getting promoted from League Two last season, Nathan Jones has seen his team win 3 and draw 2 of their last 5 league games. A 100% record in the EFL Trophy has added further joy to their campaign so far.

The home and away records of these two sides could prove influential tonight. Barnsley are unbeaten at home with the potential opportunity to turn Oakwell into a fortress this season. Luton's away record has been a stumbling block for them. The Hatters have won just 1 of their 6 league games on the road this season.

We could see some goals in this game. Barnsley are conceding an average of 1.06 goals per home game. An emphasis on attack is serving them well so far. They will play a Luton side that are conceding an average of 1.09 goals per game this season. Backing both teams to score or over 2.5 goals makes sense then!

My feeling is that Barnsley can use this game to put a run of positive results together. Jones still hasn't cracked it on the road with Luton in this division yet. At home they have the best record in the league but away is another story. This is a tough trip for the Hatters and even though I'm tempted to back the draw I think Barnsley should sneak a win.
