Weekly NAPS Competition: Tuesday 19th May

Re: Weekly NAPS Competition: Tuesday 19th May 3:50 Newcastle - Freewheel (22/1 BetVictor) 1pt Win Coolmore cast off who did very little when trained by Dandy Nicholls, has shown some flashes of ability since joining the Jordan yard and has now fallen to a career low mark of 79 - is actually 5lbs lower than when 6th lto as the jockey posted 2lbs ow on that occasion. I think the drop to 10 furlongs is definitely worth a try as he has looked a bit weak in the finish over 12 furlongs on some occasions. Would have a massive chance if returning to the form of his 2nd on the AW before Christmas, comes with risks attached but the price more than makes up for it.

Re: Weekly NAPS Competition: Tuesday 19th May 2.10 Chep - Sophistica - win at 8/1 bog bet365 2yo maiden Unraced Hannon horse making the market here - his good ones often win first time out but they would normally be running at the top tracks. Difficult to see this one as one of his better ones and his run of the mill types often need a run or two Another Boy comes out of a decent looking maiden at Newbury and must have a good chance here. The only thing putting me off is a report that he looked a bit awkward at Newbury and maybe this tricky undulating course might not suit him My selection comes from Channon's yard - his runners often come on a lot for their debut runs and this one showed some promise on debut before fading

Re: Weekly NAPS Competition: Tuesday 19th May The 7yr old gelding has been knocking on the door and his turn must surely be soon, he's run 19 times with only the 1 sole win but jockey Graham Lee gets the leg up for the forth time and will know exactly what is required today. The combo were 2nd here at Newcastle on Apr 28th and once again this Class 6 is anybody's for the taking. 5:50 Newcastle - Spokesperson. 1pt Win Bet @ 7/1 Skybet, , , , , , , , , ,''BOG''

Re: Weekly NAPS Competition: Tuesday 19th May 6.50 Chelmsford - The Happy Hammer win @ 6/1 PaddyPower The Happy Hammer was only beaten a length behind Little Indian two runs ago over C&D. They run against each other here and The Happy Hammer is much better off at the weights and I'm confident he can overturn that form. He followed that run up with another decent run at Wolverhampton to finish a one length 4th. He hasn't won for over a year but he has been running consistently so I don't think his turn should be too far away. A lot of the field seem to prefer turf as opposed to the AW so the surface might cause a problem for some of these. The Happy Hammer on the other hand won't mind the surface as he has done most of his winning on the AW and he has also performed well here at Chelmsford.

Re: Weekly NAPS Competition: Tuesday 19th May Chelmsford 9.20: 1pts win, Greys Angel - 7/2, Bet365 Has been runner up five times in a row and although a bit of a worrying trend hasn't done an awful lot wrong and looks up to landing a maiden, let's hope today is her day!

Re: Weekly NAPS Competition: Tuesday 19th May 7.10 Dundalk: Handicap, 3yo, 7f Pretty good race for a dreary Tuesday night on the Dundalk All-Weather. Some good sorts with top form going to post - a tight finish can be expected! Interestingly, the well fancied contenders have all one thing in common: They all won over further the last time and drop down to seven furlongs. With the exception of Ishebayorgrey who won over 6f recently and found further trips stretching him. Against those runners, the Ger Lyons trained Cape Wolfe appears to be overpriced. He performed well in a couple of hot maidens last season and was only beaten in the final strides when last seen at Gowran Park, while travelling really well. This form works out really well and despite a 2lb rise in the mark, on balance Cape Wolf could be a bit better than that. The switch the All-Weather should be fine and a good draw gives him every chance to be well positioned today. Cape Wolfe @ 12/1 Coral

Re: Weekly NAPS Competition: Tuesday 19th May 4.20 - Newcastle - Bowdlers Magic - 6/1 - BetVic BOG Hasn't won since 2012 but has posted two good performances this year with a 3rd and 2nd in April. Latest 2nd was off 63 and runs off the same mark here. The form of that second looks good as the winner has since won again beating the progressive Topaling.

Re: Weekly NAPS Competition: Tuesday 19th May Chepstow 5.45 Lac Sacre (11/4 william hill) If non runner Newcastle 4.20 La Bacouetteuse Lac Sacre was a beaten favourite last time out, but that may have been down to the distance. That last race was over 19f, where as all his 4 wins in the UK have come at 16f, three of which have been on today’s declared soft ground. In fact even his 2 wins in France was only at 17f.

Nr 3.10 chep Oskar denarius @ 11\2 365 Trainer has a fantastic strike rate at the track of 36% . selection is hooded for turf handicap debut off a mark of 64. There's a few quid around for it and it looks like improvement is expected.
