newcastle is probably worst team to bet your money on. they are not much better than swansea + swansea has got bony who has more talent as striker then any newcastle forward player that i know.
chelsea has been really poor recently and leicester shouldn't bee 12/1. double chance is good bet on them and win or draw first half.

It's the final round of matches for League 1, League 2, and the Scottish Championship for this hectic festive period. No SPL matches because they are on a winter break until the end of January now. Alright for some! Anyway, here are the odds and ratings for the games coming up on New Year's Day and the day after. Let us know any tips you want to share so we can hit some big wins together!

West Ham Utd V Newcastle Utd
    Newcastle Utd +0.50 AH @ 1.81 Betvictor
There's really not much between these two sides but I think diverging form has skewed the odds in West Ham's favour here.
David Moyes has done a good job thus far at West Ham. He has made the team more disciplined, industrious and confident - just what the doctor ordered. Problem is they are essentially benefiting from recent opposition being too cavalier or too complacent. The Stoke game was a case in point as Mark Hughes side played an insanely high defensive line after going a goal down and that played right into West Ham hands, enabling them to come away with a 3-0 victory.
I don't see the same level of insanity comming from Benitez's Newcastle side. Results have been very poor of late but they perhaps deserved to nick something from Arsenal at the weekend and in general their performances have not dipped to the point where they are dead in the water. They will surely see the West Ham game as a decent chance to end this run of losses and register a positive result.
We talked about West Ham's fitness and work rate being their key strength but that may start to dip this week as they have to play a league cup quater final at the emirates tonight. Crucially, Manuel Lanzini will be absent for that encounter and the Newcastle game as his ban has been upheld. This is a major blow for the hammers as he is their key creative force right now. West Ham also have injury doubts over a number of other important players and if they miss out on Saturday then I expect the Newcastle price to shorten.
Personally I think it will be a tough ask for West Ham to break down a well-drilled Newcastle side in optimum conditions, let alone the situation they are dealing with now. The metrics are close and the ones where West Ham are ahead are only by a small margin. ELO gives Newcastle a three quater goal advantage over the last 2 games which backs my view on their recent performances.
Newcastle's away form has been poor this season and West Ham are in good spirits but those are the only factors which support such a big price for Newcastle. Metrics and present circumstances suggest this game can be an opportunity for Newcastle so I will back them on the +0.50 line here.

aston villa are now not worth taking and could be this weekend's coupon buster. their most creative player and scorer kodija is again injured for the foreseeable future and aston villa could miss him badly.
since coleman come in  as manager of sunderland i wonder if now its time to take sunderland to finally win first game of the season. he has roughly two weeks to work with them and it's going to come soon
just when i thought fulham has lost their momentum completely their announce their comeback with 9 goals thriller against sheff utd but they still conceded 4 goals. they won it regardless and it's a step in right but can they repair it against millwall.i might give them benefit of doubt.
i liked bristol a lot before the international break. they were scoring a lots of goals but they have done a reverse and have struggled. slutsky is under pressure to get wins for hull but defensively they are poor. if bristol city find their scoring mojo in this match i am confident they can win

    Celta de Vigo vs Leganes
Celta will for sure miss defender Gómez, while defender Roncaglia and offensive midfielder Mor are under the question mark.
Coach of Leganes won’t be able to count on attacker Beauvue who have scored two goals this season as he is loaned from Celta. Besides him out are midfielder Ramos and goalkeeper Serantes.
Short preview: Generally I am not counting on performances of teams as Leganes against top teams, but against Barcelona they simply impressed me. They lost 0-3, but situation on the pitch was totally different. With little bit of luck result could be totally different, but well – that’s football. With Amrabat, Guerrero and Szymanowski they will be a threat for Unzue’s Celta. Roncaglia is doubtful, Gomez out, so looks that he will need to find the way without two regular defenders and I think that over 2,5 with odds around 2,15 represents some value.

    Benevento v Sassuolo
In my opinion the 16/5 available about the home win is plain wrong - yes I know Benevento sit pointless at the bottom of the league but hear me out.
    I'll start of by saying this is a value pick rather then a ratings driven pick, let me explain why;
Arguement 1 - Back in August Benevento hosted Bologna in their 1st home match of the season, they where priced at 7/4, one month later Sassuolo hosted Bologna and where priced at 11/10; the 11/10 about Sassuolo suggests that if you take out home advantage there isn't too much betwenn Sass and Bol suggesting that at home to Sassuolo Benevento should be a similar price to what they where at home against Bologna.
Arguement 2 - Sassuolo visited (also) newly promoted SPAL last month, SPAL were available at 13/8; are SPAL really that much better then Benevento? Not on my shots ratings they're not.
Looning at the arguments presented above, I think the market will move towards Benevento before the off - I'd still make Sass favs but only slight, I rate Benevento around the 15/8 mark
    Recommended Bet

well here is what i think
fleetwood the obvious choice because doncaster are terrible away
southend because they have dominated this fixtures for many years. last time portsmouth won it 1996
i would take punt on gillingham at these odds. they have taken a draw against wigan and rotherham recently, both strong teams. walsall only obtained 2 wins in 11
luton obviously because they have scored five times more goals than cambridge in past couple of games
port vale even though i know barnet changed manager but i'm not falling for that new manager crap. the home team has had some good results lately
mansfield is picking up points at home and stevenage is absolutely atrocious away conceding ridiculous amount of goals.
swindon is playing well away from home, yeovil haven't had much luck against top half teams

i got a bad feeling for fulham this weekend. i think they will beaten by derby. their season has been inconsistent and they have become even worse lately. fulham has not wins in five and failed to score in previous two
millwall are winless away all season so surely sunderland will win afterall they are managing to score regularly
if birmingham doesn't win now after two week break i am totally boycotting their games in the future
i like the odds on wolverhampton to see off reading. the hosts bagged two wins recently but wolves to me have a bit of edge in quality.

burnley better away than at home this season, burnley to win 1-0
west brom always hard to beat and do to what they do best defend deep, score counter attack, shut up shop, west brom win 1-0
swansea to me doesn't look like they will survive in the premiership and not scoring goals, brighton win 1-0
bilic did it to tottenham so why not liverpool, west ham to win 2-1
watford looks exciting in attack and creating oppotunites, everton need new manager and january transfer window asap, watford to win 2-1
this one is more of gut feeling than anything else. tottenham have occasionally struggled after big champions league games so crystal palace to win 2-0 and zaha to score first

Swansea City V Brighton & Hove Albion
    Brighton & Hove Albion +0.25 @ 2.10 Paddy Power
A close match on paper but the stats show Brighton are the more efficient team infront of goal and I'm not sure that markets have this one price correctly.
Obviously Brighton have form advantage but when will the fortunes of either team begin to turn? Swansea will see this as an important and winnable game against a perceived relegation rival. The home team can be a menace from wide areas in this game as I have reservations about Brighton's ability to defend flank attacks. Despite this, Paul Clement's side have struggled infront of goal all season and I'm concerned the problem might be terminal for their Premier League survival hopes.
Brighton have not exactly been world beaters in the final 3rd either but that might start to change with the return to fitness of Glenn Murray. He is a massively underrated centre-forward and he will enhance players around him such as Knockaert, March, Izquierdo and Gross.
When it comes to the crunch we have two teams that are closely matched in a difficult game to predict. I was expecting Brighton +0 line to be around 2.10 for this game but instead we're getting +0.25 line at said price. Brighton +0.25 @ odds against seems to be a reasonable value play here.

    Everton V Watford
    Watford +0.25 @ 2.12 Betvictor
I feel Watford are priced too big against a struggling Everton side here. I watched Leicester V Everton at the weekend and David Unsworth has a task on his hands. Everton showed some decent countering threat with the forward runs of Aaron Lennon and long passing of Wayne Rooney but they still lack a ruthless centre-forward and genuine midfield playmaker. This may become even more apparent in home matches where you have to make the game + the Goodison crowd can run out of patience pretty quickly these days.
Watford on the other hand are suited to playing away from home and I think they can cause Everton some problems here. We know that Troy Deeney will be banned for this game after Joe Allen incident but it shouldn't be of too much concern as Andre Gray will be a handy replacement for this game with his speed on the counter. I also expect Richarlison and Carrillo will like this game as Everton have really struggled at right-back this season in the absence of Seamus Coleman and Unsworth looks no closer to finding a solution there.
Watford ahead on key metrics, ELO ratings. Everton have to play in Lyon on Thursday. Markets have Everton as clear favourites for Watford game and I cannot understand why. I would expect +/- 0 line to be much more balanced than it is here. Watford +0.25 @ odds against seems to be decent value play in this situation.

    Chelsea v Man United
Is it me or are United a hard watch. They are so dull and one paced, and ponderous, but they grind out results.
Certainly unspectacular, totally incomparable to Man City, but pretty rock solid defensively.  The win over Benfica, guarantees them CL knockout football. It has been an easy CL campaign so far. No stress, no effort, but no fire either. I don't think you can switch that on and off. The emotion is just flat. Nobody seems fired up !
I see more of the same in this game. Dogged, pedestrian, grinding, leaning towards defense over offense, hard to beat. I don't think there will be goals here. United will come to win it 0-1. Realistically a 541 in defense playing on the break.
Chelsea have had a tough week. Travel to Italy and get a proper hiding. 3-0 is a solid smack. Things are starting to unravel a little. Conte is annoyed (fair enough), but do Chelsea really want a remarriage to Ancelotti ? Its like kissing an old girlfriend. Nice memories but it's not the same !
I think the Man United win, draw no bet is decently priced at even money
I also think the total goals in the game (0 or 1) is a decent bet at 2.9

    Manchester Utd V Tottenham Hotspur
    X @ 3.40 Bet365
This is a match that will show us what Man U are really made of. Tottenham are ofcourse weaker without Harry Kane and their defending against West Ham midweek was shambolic but they are still a force to be reckoned with in my view. If Man U win this it will be a great result for them as they are not exactly firing on all cylinders as of late. I could forgive those who are looking at the home team on -0.25 line here but I think X maybe the way to go as both teams have extremely close ELO rating right now.

Crystal Palace V West Ham Utd
    X @ 3.30 Bet365
Watching the outcome of Palace games is bad comedy at the minute. A draw would have been the just outcome at Newcastle last week while the game at Ashton Gate midweek can only be described as bizarre. Results are not matching performances with a physics defying breakdown of cause and effect at play. The shit is getting so spooky I'm starting to think a draw at home to West Ham would be a good result. Picking a winner here seems like suicide as both teams are playing in the twilight zone, if you put a gun to my head I would lean slightly towards West Ham here but markets are accurate with asian lines for this game. Very little ELO disparity between the two so I will go for X here.
