BillyHills
Re: RussP's Specialisation - Big Field Races (Flat) Good luck Russ, keep ploughing on mate, bound to be tricky at this time of the season. Some people prefer to leave them alone for a few weeks until the form gets sorted but i think this has a negative effect in the long run as you cant beat looking, watching and reading form continually. I always think you get paid back many times over by doing the work now, my main strength is my memory, if i didnt look through the form or watch races everyday ive no starting point. Best of luck anyway!
RussP
Re: RussP's Specialisation - Big Field Races (Flat) Thanks Graham:ok LAKE POET 2.55 Epsom RPF 10/1 Cl 3 handicap over the Derby trip. Despite the race distance, a high draw is usually an advantage so the selection is Lake Poet. Course form is an advantage and this horse ran its one and only race here, finishing a very promising 3rd of 15 in a Cl 2 handicap. Goes reasonably well fresh, and reverts to turf where it has shown all its best form. Seb Sanders gets on well with this horse, and it should give backers a run for their money at a double figure price. Dangers include Solent and I Have Dreamed TABADUL 3.30 Epsom RPF 10/1 Another big field handicap, this time over 1m2f. High draw again advantageous and this horse occupies the 16 stall. Was 5th to Luberon 18 days ago, and the pair reoppose today with Tabadul on 7lb better terms. The race that day suited Luberon as the 1st 4 home all raced very prominently. Tabadul finished best of those held up, running on for 5th. Stable amongst the winners recently and this horse has a big chance at the price. Big danger is Art Modern, and could be worth a small EW interest.

RussP
Re: RussP's Specialisation - Big Field Races (Flat) CHARLIE BEAR 5.10 Beverley RPF 8/1 Closing race of the day at Beverley, 7f handicap with 16 going to post. 2 important factors over this trip are a middle-high draw and a horse racing prominently. Although held up in the past, this horse is capable of running well from a prominent position and will occupy the 10 stall. Off a winning mark, having been dropped 2lb for lto 5th at Warwick when it had the worst of the draw. The handicapper has obv not taken into account the draw effect. Goes well on this type of track and has had 2 runs this season to put it spot on for this. A cracking EW bet.

RussP
Re: RussP's Specialisation - Big Field Races (Flat) HITS ONLY CASH 5.00 Wolverhampton RPF 7/1 The last race here today, a 9f handicap with 11 expected to go to post. Scottish River has to be high on any list but 3rd race in quick succession may prove too much for this horse. So let's try an EW alternative in the shape of Hits Only Cash, ridden by Dean McKeown. Frustrating sort who generally gives itself too much to do, but ran well on only try at this trip when just failing to get up from a wide draw. Should settle much earlier today from its 3 draw, and provided it gets a little luck in running, should be finishing best of all. A combination of draw but more importantly trip should see this horse go very close at a EW backers price.

RussP
Re: RussP's Specialisation - Big Field Races (Flat) BOLD MARC 6.45 Haydock RPF 10/1 Draw is important at 1m here, especially in big fields. The selection is drawn well and it's advantageous that it races up with the pace. Stays the trip, has a very useful 3lb claimer on board and rivals are either poorly drawn or out of form. Ran very well at the end of last season and, on that basis, I believe this horse to be overpriced.

RussP
Re: RussP's Specialisation - Big Field Races (Flat) BUSCADOR 9.20 Wolverhampton RPF 10/1 W Brisbourne has 4 of the 11 runners in this contest, and I expect Buscador to be the strongest of these. 2lb lower than previous, and step up to 1m4f in its favour (ran well at this trip 2 starts ago). Is a course regular, and likes to make all. Well drawn to grab an early lead and, if its not challenged for the lead, should be value at likely odds.
