  4. 705 Ripon – Signoret @ 4/1 bet365 After winning his maiden attempted to follow up last time out but was a little unfortunate in the sense was hampered and forced wide. The 2nd in that maiden has won since and I think it is probably worth forgiving that last run and giving another chance here, down in class. 725 Windsor – Burning Thread – 9/2 Bet365 Last won this time last year, when he was running in higher grades. Struggled a bit off revised mark but that has been sliding due to the long losing run. Signs recently that he may be returning t some kind of form and runs off an att
  5. Re: National Hunt Racing > Saturday April 18th I agree with Aidy here. Scottish Grand National. I backed AMIGO at Newbury last time out as I thought he would improve for the better ground. He was a staying on 2nd behind a very well handicapped Carruthers and with decent ground expected today, I am happy to back him again each way

  8. Re: The Ryanair Steeple Chase > Thursday March 12th @ 2:40pm Taquin de Seuil ew @ 16/1 - Ladbrokes With the field cutting up a bit (Cue Card has been ruled out this morning and Champagne Fever is almost certain to go for the QMCC), there is potentially some each way value. I like Ma Filleule with her 7lb allowance but there is a niggling doubt that this class may find her out and 5/1 is a bit short for me, especially when worthy favourite Don Cossack can be backed at 3/1. Balder Success hasn’t had the best of luck at Cheltenham, failing to complete in any of his starts there. John’
  9. Re: Stan James Champion Hurdle > Tuesday March 10th @ 3:20pm I think Faugheen wins but backing short odds at Cheltenham isn't up my street so I will be looking for some each way value in the form of Purple Bay who looks like he is improving and has run two good races in the Elite and Christmas hurdles this year. Obviously very difficult to see him turning the tables with Faugheen but a place at a big price isn't out of the question.

  11. Re: National Hunt Racing - Saturday December 13th I like West End Rocker in the 1.30 Lingfield, a competitive looking 4 runner affair in which all runners have a chance and all have question marks against them too. Therefore it doesn't sound like a race to get involved in but I have been following the impressive amateur jockey T Bellamy who is having a good season, particulary for Alan King, for whom he is 4/10 over fences. This horse loves the heavy ground, has won over this distance and despite bring top weight looks reasonably treated, with Bellamy taking off a further 5lbs. The trainer

  13. Re: Newcastle United v Queens Park Rangers > Saturday November 22nd QPR after a slow start have shown signs of a revival lately as new signings bed in, Still defensively suspect but the acquisition of Sandro has given them some much needed protection there. Their away form has been less than inspiring on the face of it but they have had one of the hardest set of fixtures away from Loftus Road (Chelsea, Man Utd, Southampton, Tottenham and West Ham)Newcastle are in good form but the international break came at the wrong time for them and could potentially halt the momentum they have built
  14. Re: Arsenal v Manchester United > Saturday November 22nd Arsenal v Man Utd Goals will be popular here. Both sides are either struggling defensively or are injury ravaged at the back yet remain potent in an attacking sense. It is difficult to see Man Utd coming to the Emirates and sitting back, as I don’t think they have the defensive quality to do so at the moment. It would make more sense to attack Arsenal’s achilles heel i.e. their defence. This in turn should provide Arsenal with more space to play their attacking game. Both sides to score looks a certainty.
  15. Re: Everton v West Ham > Saturday November 22nd No doubting West Ham’s start to the season has been impressive but it’s worth noting that they have conceded a lot away from home with their striking options up front rescuing them somewhat. Team news isn’t great for West Ham on that front with Song, Sakho and Downing all set to miss out and Valencia and Reid both doubtful. Everton have had a slow start but appear to be finding their feet a bit - unbeaten in four games and can win here. Everton @ 10/11 William Hill
