Monthly Naps Comp - Tuesday 1st March 2016

Leicester 4.50 - Troika Steppes 11/4 Bet365

Bounced back to form with a front running win over slightly further around this track before running a respectable race against better company over this C&D when probably ridden a little too aggressively. This doesnt look a particularly strong race with the current favourite a candidate for the dreaded bounce running only 19 days after a 22 month absence. Spending Time has pulled up the last twice, Mountain of Morne has enough to prove after an average chase debut and One For The Boss is probably the one I fear most if back to his spring form assuming he is in good health having pulled up over hurdles more than 100 days ago.

L2.20 Our Cat 16/1 Ladbrokes

The trainer has hit a really rich vein of form now and his runners are popping up all over the place often at tasty prices. He also has a good record at the track and this horses easy win at Exeter off just a 1 pound lower mark would be good enough to win this.

5.00 CATTERICK : Turtle Cask @ 14/1 betvictor e/w thanks

Turtle Cask......from Dianne Sayer yard the 7yo is the only C&D winner in race although some have won over the distance, He's been successful in two hurdle races at 2m 4f and 3m 1f on soft ground ,

Although going classed as good overnight rain forecast so condition should be ideal for him as most of his place finishes have been on good to soft and soft and after being 3rd in last race on heavy going the yard will be glad there back on better going with Brian Hughes in saddle again

330 Catterick: My Friend George 4/1 bet365/BetVic

He ran much the best of these last time out and is the most consistent horse in the race and looks the safest option on a very tricky looking card at Catterick.

He's not ran over two miles for sometime which might be the only negative but in saying that the better ground should enable a decent pace and you will need stamina as well. He's in good form and should be followed in this mood and the price is fair enough. The fav is the novice Bollin Line who was going well when coming down last time. He has to be respected but his jumping will be put to the test over the last three fences.

Catt 3.00 - Coniston Gold - EW at 16/1 bog wm hill

Maiden hurdle

Going for an EW punt on a newcomer here making his racecourse debut in a weak looking maiden hurdle. Wouldn't have to be anything special to get involved

Comes with a nice jumping family, his dam won over hurdles and fences, and is a half brother to bumper, hurdle and chase winners

As the only 4yo in the race he gets a handy weight allowance and the claimer takes off another 3

3.40 Lingfield: Jazri @ 25/1 PP

Only 2lb above his last winning mark which came in December over this 10f trip. Hasn't been hitting any sort of form lately though, but off a feather weight can't be discounted given he has a 50% place rate at Lingfield.

4.40 LINGFIELD

PICANSORT @ 14/1 Betway

This time last year this one was beaten only 2 1/2L off 81 in a class 2 event over CD.  Down into class 6 (non seller/claimer) company today for the first time for ages.  Has a wide draw to contend with but is usually dropped in so shouldn't inconvenience too much.
