The Martin sorry David Pipe trained 5yr old gelding has 10 runs with zero wins and has never looked like winning either, most of us should know by now just how funny the Pipe camp can be, ''they play a mean game of poker'' with us punters and bookmaker alike.

They only send this one runner to Wincanton with Conor O'Farrell getting the leg up, they really are a set up that the minute you take your eye off them thinking the yard are out of form that's when they start firing in the winners again.

It's not a tip with any confidence but in this Grade and at the showing price it's defo worth a little interest bet be that small stakes.

2.35 Haydock - Westwood Hoe @ 20/1 Ladbrokes

Probably the best bred in the field but he was only seen for the first time last winter and Oppenheimer let him go in the spring so he probably didn't show an awful lot. He's shown some promise for Tony Coyle winning a 7f handicap at York and wasn't beaten too far on his first run off a break last time. He's dropping down to 6f for the first time but by Oasis Dream with some sprinters on the dams side this could be a good move. Lightly raced in an exposed field he deserves a shot.

4.30 Redcar

LOTHAIR @ 33/1 Ladbrokes

Outsider of the field but back on Soft ground could see him return to form, has three wins from seven runs on soft of worse. Last win came off 2lb higher than today on good/soft, since then has seen mostly fast ground. Able claimer takes off 7lb to make the mark even more attractive.

2.35 Haydock

Deauville Prince ew 14/1 Bet 365

Tom Dascombe trained consistent sort with a good record at Chester but does have a previous win at Haydock. Looks reasonably well handicapped today despite top weight and with Richard Kingscote back in the  saddle who has a record of 3 wins and four places from 14 rides looks to have a live chance.

Winc 3.00 - Polisky - win at 11/4 bog bet365

Handicap chase

My selection is a bit risky as he appears to be a 'character' and has his own ideas about the game

But today could be the day to catch him.......he won on seasonal debut last year and both his career wins have come here at Wincanton at around this trip on good to firm ground.

Only won 2 from 25 and does tend to idle in front and finish weakly (been placed 2nd or 3rd 12 times !) so the jockey might have his work cut out but 'Sam' was on him for his last win so does know how to nurse him home.

335 Wincanton: Regulation 4/1 SJ

Really like Knock House at the other meeting but Regulation probably represents better value and gets his conditions here at Huntingdon. Won on good/firm back in July and also when it was sound at Warwick last month. This track suits and was second to the useful Maputo last time out. Dickie takes over from Lizzie Kelly, nothing against her but i'd rather have him. Trainer in cracking form and interestingly has pulled his horses out of Fakenham today?? Anyway runs off a mark of 123 and must go close.

2.35 - Haydock - Westwood Hoe - 20/1 - 0.5 ew - Hills

Bit of an unknown as the horse has never raced over 6f previously which is probably why the price is so high, but won well at York in May. A bit below par in two efforts since then but has been dropped a lb as a result. Good to soft ground at Haydock today which shouldnt pose a problem.

Haydock 17.55 Nam Hai 40/1 paddy/victor

Twiston-Davies does well with outsiders as his slightly higher win SP average suggests. Nam Hai has only one win with 2/1 SP from 6 races but was an outsider in 3 of them priced at 66/1, 25/1. Finished in a modest 3rd in his last race one year ago over 11 furlongs on heavy going. After a 1 year break shouldn't need more than 1 race to get in form, and I am hoping he needs none and makes a shock surprise on the longer trip.

Redcar 3:55 : Blue Maisey @ 40/1 bet365 e/w thanks

Blue Maisey....from Edwin Tuer yard the 7yo gets a turn now and then and comes here well below the winning mark she's won at, She's won three times at 1m on good to firm ground although has found a place finish on today's conditions,

She ran 15days ago after a good 2nd place Catterick 7f but had to settle for a 7th place at Beverley 7f beaten 4.5 lengths with Jordan Vaughan in saddle in both races,

The yard change jockey today to another youngster in Josh Doyle who is claiming 7lbs off her back

4.00 Fakenham  BUCKING THE TREND  looks to be well in if going on his better form, and although he's had a very long lay-off, trainer can ready them after a long time, and apparently he's been working well enough at home to suggest a decent run is on the cards.  No trip and ground worries, and so looks the value bet in this race at current odds.

1pt win 8/1 Bet365 BOG
