Carl 2.15 - My Valentino - EW at 25/1 bog Wm Hill I'm going for one of the outsiders here - only run once and finished last of five. However it looked a decent race with the two dead heat winners entered up in all the big sales races, the 3rd ran well next time and the 4th won next time out The other 4 horses in that race were from the bigger Northern stables - Ryan, Quinn, Johnston, Fahey - so it was probably a decent maiden race Dianne Sayer has sent out 2 winners in the last few days both ridden by 5lb claimer Emma Sayer who get the ride on the horse today The other horses that have run don't look anything special so my horse appears to be taking on the newcomers and looks a big price to get placed

5.30 Southwell - King's Realm win @ 16/1 Bet365 This one has obviously had his problems as he has only had 8 runs since 2012. He's been poor in the majority of those races but ran well lto at Wetherby, running on well after the last to take 4th. He ran over 17f and looked to be crying out for a longer trip so the step up to 20f is a definite positive. He's also won over 19f so 20f wont be a problem. He's had 2 runs since May so should be fit and ready for this whereas 4 of his last 8 were after long breaks which would explain the poor form. He also looks quite well handicapped as his last winning mark was 113 and he is running off only 103 today. At his best he was rated 125.

Nottingham 6.40 Uptight (4/1 coral) If non runner Carlisle 5.15 Night Generation Uptight has a 50% win rate from his 4 races todate, including a course and distance in today’s class. In fact his 2 wins have both been in higher class. Last time out he was a beaten favourite, but that was his first outing of the season. And the horse who won that day, although beaten since that was in a £13000 York h;cap where he finished 6th of 18 runners beaten only 2 lengths. In fact there was only about 5 lengths separating the first 14 home in that York Race

530 Southwell: Queen Spud 14/1 SJ/BVic Henry Daly saddles the top weight Queen Spud in this conditional jockeys race and who better to ride than current champion Sean Bowen. The horse will enjoy the cut in the ground and the track will suit having been successful on sharp flat tracks like Stratford and Fakenham. Needs a career best but the price of 14/1 looks a bit on the big side to me.

4.15 Carlisle Just the 6 runners but not a bad field for a low class event. Tectonic has been simply going through the motions recently however did finish the well last time out at Ayr, is a previous course winner who has plenty of placed form of these sort of marks but is still 1lb above last winning mark looks vulnerable for the win purpose. Exclusive Waters bolted up 9 days ago at Newcastle, he is 8lb higher today in a better grade of race may be enough to stop him following up here. Graceful Act still looks high enough in handicap at present under an inexperienced jockey. Edas has done very little in 2 runs this year and needs to find a lot more however on a very good mark and under a very good apprentice. Riponian won on penultimate start breaking his maiden tag however that was a weak race and was poor again off revised mark in a similar weak affair. Save The Bees could be the answer to a tricky puzzle, much better last time out at Thirsk over 1m4f and did look stretched by that trip so drop back in trip should help and is also 1 from 1 around here. He is also 10lb below his last winning mark and would be a threat to all. 1pt win Save The Bees 10/3 VC

C3.45 Princess Peaches 25/1 Ideally I'd like to see some money for this unexposed horse but it's been drifting all morning. Hopefully some support will arrive later if the horse is likely to step up for its handicap debut. The trainers runners have been going much better in recent weeks and the trainer often books this jockey if he quietly fancies the horse. On breeding the horses mark of 66 could well be a good one and the horses sire Notnowcato has produced some good horses as well as having good sire stats at this course.

5.30 Southwell - Kings Realm - 20/1 - BetVic BOG Hasn't won since 2011 but is 10lb below last winning mark today after a 4l fourth last time out over 2m. Today's trip of 2m 4f should suit judging by the way he stayed on over 2m and good ground should be ideal. Good luck all.

5.15 Carlisle Naval Action ew 33/1 bet365 Naval Action was btn a fair way on stable debut lto but over a trip too short , jumps to 11.5f and is helped by jocks 3lb claim which takes it to 49 still 4lbs above win but wasn't beaten far off 51 not so long ago for Prescott who strangely enough has the fav here.

8:20 Windsor - Senrima (33/1 Betfred) 0.5pt E/W Top two in the betting take a huge chunk out of the market but neither has overly compelling claims so there has to be some mileage in opposing them. Taking a bit of a flier on the Meehan runner first time out, the yard have been going along very nicely this season and have had lots of horses run with credit on debut. Think this one represents some EW value at a massive price in a relatively weak maiden.
