One Friday game catching my eye is Bristol City V Huddersfield
Since Feb, All of Huddersfields away games have featured over 10 corners.
All of City's last 4 home matches have featured 9 or more.
City aren't great on corners themselves, the season average at home is 8.2 compared to Huddersfields away average of 10.6
Huddersfields last 3 away games have featured 45 corners!
I would fancy Huddersfield to attack tonight, and they should win. City need to get themselves out of trouble too, so they will want to push forward, especially being at home.
Selections
Huddesfield -1 AH corners 2.8
O9 corners 1.72

Took O9.5 corners at 2.05 on the Ajax v Copenhagen match. The match was nicely poised at 2-1 to the Danes. Thought that Ajax would need to come out and attack as they were 1 down but had the crucial away goal. Copenhagen would need to attack too, as an away goal for them would have made them more comfortable.
Being at home was a deciding factor for Ajax who won the count 11-4, covering their -3 handicap set by the bookies & the over 9.5 corners

@Tiffy.
Only thing guaranteed about Forest v D**by is that it will be as bitterly contested as ever, not a betting game as both in poor form.
Both will be looking for the "new manager bounce" factor, incredible that this is the 5th consecutive "derby" where both teams have a different manager than the previous encounter, says it all about how these clubs have been run the last few years sadly.
Pressure of a relegation fight versus pressure to grab a play-off spot, no bet loud and clear from me.
Ok,fair comment, thanks for those wise words. I'll avoid this one. Derby were utter 5hite on Friday, but derby games add mare pressure into the mix
cheers

@StevieDay1983 Yep, just came short in midweek. Tough game for us on Saturday against Leeds, but we normally come away with something from there. I am not brave enough to call anything at the moment, as far as the Seagulls are concerned!
Matches catching my eye so far
Blacburn V Preston - I never thought that TM would do as well as he has at Blackburn, but he seems to be a good fit. I may rake a look at an overs/most home CORNERS here
Norwich V Barnsley
Norwich's new manager should get a response from them, if not in goals then in effort at least.Could be another Overs/home corners match
Forest V Derby
Again, Rowett could have an immediate impact, kicking a few Rams players up the arse this week. A match worth a look at, what do you think @CloughandTaylor?
QPR V Rotherham
QPR landed on the handicap for us the last time they played at home. I can see another one sided affair here, so perhaps the same again @Icongene ?
Will do some research when I get a spare 10 minutes & post my thoughts up
Your thoughts welcome in the meantime.....

BRENTFORD V WOLVES
The corner count in Brentford home matches this season average over 12, and Wolves away matches average over 10. I'd expect both sides to continue that theme tonight, and I like the way Wolves attack down the flanks.
O10 corners with William Hill 2.0
FULHAM V BLACKBURN
Iwould expect Fulham to have the most corners here. They are second behind BRENTFORD in the corner count league. They should cover the handicap set at -2. I can see them attacking more than Blackburn
Fulham -2 AH corners - 1.7 with William Hill
Wolves certainly attacked down the flanks, they won the count 3-7, so exactly 10 corners!
Fulham did have the most corners, 7-6, so didn't cover the handicap

It's all about the corners on here at the moment! What odds can you find on corners and how many are you backing? Tempted to get on those myself. A few of you on here have had success with them lately. #cornersarethenewgoals
Not another one jumping on my corners bandwagon, haha!
-
I'd agree with the posters here about results.
I'll be looking at Brentford & Fulham on the corners. Brentford should have the most, Fulham too probably, but maybe I'd go for an overs game there.
i'll do some research if I get time, bloody day job keeps getting in the way!

Southend looks too much value. What are the bookies playing at ?
11 hours ago, rangers234 said:Wouldn't go that far as Bolton being the obvious choice. Granted they beat fleetwood but can they win twice in a row away. Gillingham arnt a bad side and can score goals. If anything Southend away to Coventry is a pretty big price at 2.25... but it looks too obvious. Coventry are awful...
Luton look a big price at 2.45 away to Carlisle..
I am expecting Nathan Jones to get a response from his team tonight after the Derby defeat against Stevenage. Luton had 4 cleared off the line according to the hatters match report.

Celtic were really poor yesterday. I don't buy the hype about Dembele either, never a £40 million player.
Perhaps the occasion got to them? But agree, he's never worth that much money!

Low odds corner double today
CELTIC V RANGERS
Scottish football normally lets me down, but after some research, and with Celtic being at home, they should win the corner count.
SPURS V MILWALL
Both teams like to attack & it should be a cracking cup tie. Tottenham should win the count, but after some research I am confident that there will be a fair few corners too.
investing all of yesterday's winnings into
Celtic most corners
TOT V MIL O9 corners
pays 1.97
Yep, Scottish football ALWAYS lets me down!
Bloody Celtic 3-3 with Rangers, so unreliable it's untrue!
-
Thanks @CloughandTaylor yes you are right about them being bad losers. We have a feeling down here that they the wheels could fall off their promotion challenge and Huddersfield could finish in the top two with us! Wouldn't that be nice....
Hope my luck with CORNERS carries on for today.

Yeah, it's a tough one. I don't rate Alan Irvine as a manage at all. He's more like Steve McClaren where he's a very decent coach but not manager material. He had decent squads at Preston and Sheffield Wednesday but still had a win ratio of 40%. He then failed miserably at West Brom lasting just 22 matches. Can he do something short term? I don't know. This Norwich squad should be doing a lot better than it has been. I'm staying away from it. My gut instinct favours Norwich slightly but it's hard.
Great result for your boys last night, @Tiffy. Did you back them to keep a clean sheet? Looks like the wheels have come off the Derby promotion hunting bus!
No I didn't back them. I wasn't sure how the makeshift defence would be. Also the last time I saw Derby was when they ripped us apart a few seasons ago 5-1. However, Rosenior deputised nicely at left back & Hudemier gave a MOM performance at CH. He looked rusty when standing in for Dunk against Brentford, but was immense last night. The midfield were excellent and the strikers scored. But, Derby were very poor. I was a bit worried when I saw there line up, but they offered nothing. McLaren has a massive rebuilding job on his hands there.
Brighton got 6 corners in the first hal! Derby only managed 1 and that came after they conceded the second goal.
Pressure is now back on Huddersfield & Newcastle today!
-
Avoid Brighton tonight. There are too many injuries at the moment!
WOLVES V ROTHERHAM
In their 18 home matches this season, Wolves lead the corner count 103-81
They have had the most in 11/18 games, and in those 11 matches won by a count of 69-34 with an average of +3.18.
Rotherham's 19 home matches this season have lost the count in 13 of those games, drawing 4. They have lost the count 48-92, losing by an average of 3.38 per game.
Prices reflect this, but I am taking Wolves on a handicap of -2 at 1.55.
BRENTFORD V HUDDERSFIELD
Two attacking sides go head to head here, and it will be difficult to chose who has the most corners, although I would go with Brentford against most other teams.
In their 17 home matches the corner count has seen an average of 12.12 corners. And in Huddersfield's 18 away matches, they'total 10.5.
Huddersfield have to go for it to keep up the pressure on Brighton, so I will take the 2.05 on there being over 10 corners
-
An early scan of the fixtures doesn't throw up much. I may take a look at the BRE V HUD match. Two attacking sides may produce goals & corners. As for Brighton, I am never confident, but at home we shouldn't lose against Derby. It will be a tough game, and I may take Derby on the corners, but will take a look first. After signing no one in Jan, and now hit by a spate of defensive injuries, including 2 at CH, we have just signed an out of contract 29yr old from Norway as emergency cover! We have no natural left back, as both are injured too, so defence will be makeshift. Our rock, Shane Duffy is out for 6 weeks with a metatarsal injury now.
i know I am staying clear of results, but I would fancy your boys to beat a hopeless Birmingham side @StevieDay1983, maybe a game to look at corners too?
@Icongene, I am glad to have inspired you to a winning bet last week, what does your beast reckon now that it is out of winter hibernation? Also where did you get your corner stats from regarding the QPR game. I am trying to find a decent site for that info.
-
@Icongene that's why I am sticking to corners/goals markets, results are all over the place at the moment and I haven't won any money this season backing results!
-
Yes @Icongene the QPR -1 was a good shout. Let me know if you fancy any more and I'll back up your research with my own.
Newcastle lost the corner count 7-5. I was surprised Reading had so many, but that's football for you.
3/5 of my Newcastle bets were freebies, so not to bothered. In cash I bet £20 & returned £18, so not too much damage done! I think I can cover the £2!
Got so wrapped up in my CORNERS research yesterday, I didn't post anything on the Brighton game, but glad to see they won.
Didn't take the U2.5 on the BBR V CAR game either @StevieDay1983, should've done really, but again was too engrossed in corners. My little black book is getting full of CORNERS stats now!
Going to stick with this theme now, as I am losing far less! Haha
-
Thanks @StevieDay1983, I have taken @Icongene's advice & opened up at William Hill.
Got a £30 free bet for £10
They are offering a great selection on corner markets, so my selections are
REA V NEW
NEW most 1st half corners 2.05
NEW most corners 1.8
NEW/NEW double corner result 3.2
NEW -1 AH corners 2.25
QPR V BAR
QPR -1 AH corners 2.25
-
Any pointers for a bookie offering decent corner markets?
BF & 365 only have a limited selection based on the total corners. I really a CORNERS match bet/team handicap?

I honestly could not tell you. The optimistic side of me thinks we could win 3-1 or 3-2. We are finding the net more now. We have scored 14 goals in our last 5 games. However, Blackburn have kept two consecutive clean sheets in their last two games and have only conceded one goal in their last three. I think a 1-1 draw is more than realistic or even a narrow 1-0 win for either side. I would say if I was forced to bet on that market I would go for the under 2.5 option. Personally, I'd advise to steer clear though. BTTS might be a better option but even that is a tough call.
Thanks @StevieDay1983, I'll ponder on it!

@Tiffy Just looking over some stats tonight and think there might be some money to be made on the corners in the QPR/Barnsley. QPR have the 5th highest corner count at (h) in the division. Barnsley on the other hand, have the 2nd lowest corner count in the division. QPR give up a fair few at home too but Barnsley sit deep and are compact so I can't see them going heavy into the corner count. Seeing around 1.90 for QPR -1.
You're not jumping on my "corners" bandwagon are you @Icongene, haha
Yes, think you could be onto something good here. I have done some research.
In Queer Pikey Rovers last 6 home games they have drawn the corner count 32-32, so nothing really to split the teams.
In Barnsley's last 6 away, they have lost the count 49-21, averaging 3.5 corners per game against the home sides average of 8.1. Even QPR home average is 5.3
i think that they will be set up defensively, and Holloway will have his team pushing forward as they are at home.
I can't find any corner markets on B365 or BF other than overs/unders? Where did you find your 1.9?
The other game I really like, especially as I just seen both teams play, is Reading V Newcastle.
In their last 6 away games, NEW lead the corner count 27-32, having the most corners in 3/6 games
In REA last 6 home games, they have lost the count 29-37, averaging just 4.8 corners per game.
They have had the most corners in 1/6 (16%) of their last 6 home matches.
I'd expect NEW to go all out for the win tonight & to get it, playing attacking football, compared to Readings possession based style of play.
Just nee to find some prices now!, any help appreciated

I think that 2.05 is a decent price for Newcastle given that they have just beaten better opposition away from home in Brighton & Huddersfield

Jesus, what happened to your team last night @Kenton Schweppes? Hopefully now your good run will be over and will afford Brighton some breathing space! This of course means that Brighton will now lose to Leeds today, as whenever they have a chance to pull away, they never do.
So the corner count finished 1-1!!!! 1 fckn 1, #€$¥&£Y Hell, what was that all about. Huddersfield were 3-0 down before they got one, it's unbelievable really!
@allyhibs looks like I have paid you back for a Hibs bet I took off you a few weeks ago! (Lost at 1.5 I think)
@Icongene busted your unders too didn't it!
Oh well, we live to fight another day
