1 bet 1 winner again on Tuesday night and hopefully the good run can continue with these 3 bets on Saturday.
    Altrincham v Barnet
Barnet are unbeaten in 3 games since the new management team came in and they look an improved side. They have only conceded once in those 3 matches which is huge given the goals they were conceding before that. Granted they have only score in one of those games albeit they got 3 against Aldershot, and their lack of goals is a concern, but they look too big a price so I have to back them. Alty aren't scoring goals either and haven't scored in their last 3 which they have all lost. 4 games back they beat Maidenhead 1-0, but that was a fluke goal which went straight in from a corner and with Barnet now improving at the back Alty will find it tough to score here. I think these two teams are much closer together right now than the odds suggest and I would make Barnet around 9/4 shots.
    Boreham Wood v Stockport
You would have made a small fortune backing Wood to draw in recent months and no doubt they won't draw now I have actually put them up as a bet. They drew again against Barnet last week and it almost doesn't seem to matter what level of opposition they are facing. Stockport got two good wins over Kings Lynn and Wrexham, but then they weren't great again against Maidenhead last Saturday in a 2-2 draw. This could easily be another game where the points are shared.
    Maidenhead v Woking
Opposing Woking has been a nice money earner in recent weeks and I am happy to do so again. At their best I think Maidenhead can beat pretty much anyone in the division and they are finding their form again after a run of poor performances. They put 6 past a hopeless Wealdstone on Tuesday and with Woking continuing to look off the pace I think the home side can pick up another 3 points.
    Barnet 1pt @ 24/5 with William Hill
    Boreham Wood v Stockport draw 1pt @ 23/10 with Bet365
Maidenhead 2.5pts @ 6/5 with William Hill and Betfred

One bet one winner on Saturday and hopefully it will be the same tonight. I am opposing Woking again and they host Torquay tonight. I watched Torquay play Sutton last Tuesday and they were very impressive in a 1-0 victory. With players coming back from injury they look back to their early season best and are right back in the title hunt. With Sutton and Hartlepool recording big victories on Saturday, Torquay need to get their goal difference up so I can see them going for the kill tonight. Woking are struggling with injuries and they didn't put up much resistance against Wrexham on Saturday. I think Torquay will cover the handicap so am happy to back them at 12/5 to cover the -1.
    Torquay -1 2pts @ 12/5 with Betfair

    Woking v Wrexham
Just the one bet for me on Saturday and I am keen on Wrexham to beat Woking. Wrexham have been weakened up front in the last couple of weeks, but then went and put 4 past Halifax on Tuesday night. That was a crucial win for them after losing to Notts County, Torquay and Stockport. This is certainly a drop in grade compared to those matches and as I mentioned in Tuesday's preview Woking are looking at next season already given they can't go up or down.
    Wrexham 2pts @ 11/8 with William Hill

No thanks. You should post the selections on here (like the rest of us do) or it just looks like you’re using the site for spamming purposes rather than having a desire to contribute,
Out of interest, what would the profit have been to level stakes, i.e. if you divided the total amount you staked equally across all the selections. I’m suspicious of the staking approach and interested to know if it added any value.

The true test of a system is whether it makes a profit at level stakes. A staking plan will not make an unprofitable system profitable.

With just the one league to bet in at the moment it does mean that sometimes there will be no bets to be had as has happened the last couple of matchdays. There are a couple of bets I like though in tonight's matches.
    Barnet v Wrexham
After watching Hartlepool batter Barnet and only score one goal against them and so fail to land the handicap bet it was then annoying to see Yeovil cover it with ease last Tuesday. They didn't play on Saturday, but they continue to look a very poor side. Wrexham had a trip to South London on Saturday in the live BT game against Sutton and both sides basically cancelled each other out in what was a tough watch because of that. Wrexham have had an issue about scoring goals for a few seasons now, but they did put 4 past Wealdstone and although in their other 3 games in their last 4 they have failed to score two of those games were against Sutton and Hartlepool. Barnet are worse than Wealdstone so I reckon they could cover the handicap here and at 11/5 it looks well a bet.
    Notts County v Halifax
Having watched County against Kings Lynn and Chesterfield in recent weeks they really don't look anything special and the fact they couldn't even beat a weakened Kings Lynn last Tuesday night said plenty about where they are at right now. It's amazing to think they could still win the league because they don't look a team who should be good enough to at the moment. I think it is worth back Halifax here as after losing to Maidenhead and Barnet they have bounced back well to beat Torquay, get a point against Hartlepool and then beat Wealdstone on Saturday. They were much more dominant than their 2-1 victory suggests and at 3/1 I am happy to play.
    Wrexham -1 2pts @ 11/5 with Betfair
    Halifax 1pt @ 3/1 with Bet365

    Leeds v West Ham
Early weekend games tend to lead to odd results. I think most players would prefer a 3pm Saturday kickoff. It's what they know, routine wise. So an 8pm Friday night game is a tricky game for everyone. You are just out of your routine, and the pressure is on. Everyone who wants to watch football is probably watching this game.

After a semi decent start are Leeds running out of gas? All fine and well to play at 100 miles an hour in the Championship, but is this style of play sustainable in the Premier League? Opponents are better, players physically fitter, strong and technically superior. So you can't just beat them with legs and work effort. Eventually you deplete your own fitness, working at these higher levels.

West Ham played very well against Man United. More clinical in front of goal and they are 3-0 up. Fernandes or not, that is game over. They will be stinging after that game, which they should have won. The chances they missed were unreal

I feel that Leeds, with a smaller squad, and a higher fitness demand style of play may just find the games coming too thick and fast. Expect a tight first 60 and then West Ham to win it in the last 3rd.
    If I was going 3 bets here they would be ;

    highest scoring half second
Draw HT West to win FT
    West Ham win.

Three games of interest this weekend.
    Villa v Liverpool
After watching Liverpool run rings around Arsenal (while in 3rd gear), it takes a brave man to go against them. There are simply no real weaknesses in this squad/side. Defense looks solid, forwards are great, wing backs do their job. Liverpool are just so far ahead of the rest in their transition game. Defense flows into attack so smoothly, and visa-versa. It is a well drilled side, with solid structures and patterns of play. This makes it so much easier for new players coming into the team.
Unfortunately for Villa, I cannot see them living with this Liverpool UBER machine. Klopp has added brilliantly to an already strong unit, and I expect the Liverpool machine to roll on here. Mane, Salah and Firmino just look so deadly upfront. Unstoppable !

This is just a free shot for Villa, and I think they could get thumped. But it is not serious for them. They need to beat the WBA's, Fulham's and Crystal Palace's of this world.

    Prediction : Away Win & over 2.5 : Odds 1.8

    Man United v Tottenham
Man United continue to struggle in the transfer market ... or do they? Perhaps the intent is really not to buy too many new players. Rather just go through the motions of attempting signings, knowing that they will fail. They can then shake their heads and say we tried (very hard).

The over concentration on Sancho is a joke. He is not the answer to their problems. The gaping 3 lane freeway through the heart of their defense is. Do they need a new left back? Seriously, they already have 2 of them!

United look flat, tired and jaded. In my opinion the manager looks tactically weak, and he really does not have a great squad to work with. The fact that these players are so inconsistent under Solksjaer should be alarming. How can you be so up and down?

You could bet your house that Mourinho really wants to win this game. Being sacked at Man United will still sting and hurt. The ego is bruised and he wants revenge! He may say otherwise but this is a priority game for him.
Was impressed with Dalot at right back in the Carabou cup. Bailly also stepped up nicely. This lets United play a back 3 or back 4, and wan-Bissaka could easily play as a center half. For me a back 3 is really the way to go, as it lets United pack the midfield with a decent varied talent mixture. How much is playing Luke Shaw (in a 4) really adding to United? He seems to lack confidence going forward, and get caught out of position at the back!
Neither team really convinces me at the moment and I don't like betting these games. Just way to unpredictable.
If Spurs are more clinical in front of goal, they could win this going away. First goal is critical here, as both sides are not great game-chasers.

    Prediction : Away Win & over 2.5 : Odds 6 for a small bet.

    Wolves v Fulham
I'm not crazy about Wolves at the moment. They are very inconsistent, and may just be in for a long old battle this season. They are selling players, and not really replacing them. The good news for them is that they play a side who already look out of their league.

The Fulham defense makes Man United's back two look like a wall. Their big problem is that the defend badly and  are battling for goals as well.

Wolves to win here, but thinking about it, the over 2.5 goals is a tough one. Can Fulham score? Probably not
Can Wolves score 3 hmmm ... kind of dicey.

Prediction : Wolves Home Win & over 2.5 : Odds 2.63, again for a small bet.

This weird end of season sprint for cash, really favors the big squad, well funded  teams. They have almost like for like replacements and depth, while the smaller units are just grinding over the line. The couple it with 5 substitutes and it is heavily skewed towards the big boys.
Man United are playing some decent football. Moving the ball much faster, and playing with some swagger. Pogba and Fernandes doing a solid job in midfield and the confidence is coming back. But for me the most interesting player on the pitch is Mason Greenwood.  I can't remember when last I saw someone absolutely crack home two goals, one left foot and one right in the same game (maybe Ronaldo when Portugal played Switzerland in a playoff game). Two absolute rockets, taken early, pure strike, before the goalkeeper was set. You can't teach that. Either you got it or you don't
If United could sign Koulibaly this year, they will be a force next season. Everything else looks good. Pity de Gea is on a such an expensive long term contract, because he seems to pick the ball outta the net more often than he saves these days.
Saints have been doing OK, but their bread and butter has been beating the lower ranked teams this season. In 12 games against lowly opponents they have won 8 times. Ok, they beat a demotivated Man City side, but I think United will cover a 2 goal margin here.
Best odds and bet for me is the home win HT/FT at about 1.85

    Sheffield United vs Chelsea
The Premier League season continues to enter into its final days with another round of fixtures. One match that stands out for me this weekend is the 5:30pm BST kick-off on Saturday evening between Sheffield United and Chelsea at Bramall Lane. Champions League qualification is up for grabs in this one with the home side looking to reduce the gap between themselves and their opponents.
Sheffield United had looked to be stumbling since returning from the coronavirus suspension after failing to win three league games on the trot. However, Chris Wilder's men have now gone undefeated in 3 league matches including two victories. This run has seen the Blades move back up to 7th in the league table and to within 7 points of the Champions League qualification spots. It's still looking like a tall order to catch the top five but a win here could put the cat amongst the pigeons. United are unbeaten in 7 of their last 8 home league matches.
Chelsea appear to be getting better and better under Frank Lampard. The Blues had come into this suspension of the league with their place in the Champions League qualification spots in doubt. 6 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss from their last 8 league matches has helped to move them up to 3rd in the table and 8 points inside the top five. The 3-2 defeat away to West Ham was a gut-wrenching defeat but with the team bouncing back with two wins and scoring six goals it's clear that Lampard has picked them up from that loss.
An outsider looking in might see these two sides and immediately back a Chelsea win. We all know better than that though. We understand how tough and combative Sheffield United have been this season. I feel Chelsea will qualify for the Champions League. They're playing attractive football and credit to Lampard, he's getting the best out of his players. United might just miss out but they're going to give it everything. I feel a draw offers the best value here because the odds on an away win are far too short given how dangerous a proposition the home side will be here but I can certainly see both sides scoring.

    Cardiff vs Charlton
Well, it's been a rather surreal start for us Cardiff fans since the Championship restarted. We had been looking set to finish the season in a low key mid-table finish but we now find ourselves occupying a play-off spot and 3 points within the top six. We welcome Charlton to the Cardiff City Stadium for this 6pm BST kick-off this evening but still our fans aren't getting ahead of ourselves.
Cardiff have come bounding out of the traps since the league action re-commenced. A rugged 2-0 win over table-topping Leeds in our first game back wasn't entirely unexpected given our recent record against them but the impressive 3-1 win away to our bogey team Preston last weekend was a complete shock leaving us in 6th place. Neil Harris deserves all the credit in the world for getting the most out of a squad of players that aren't his own. The players also deserve praise for maintaining a disciplined training regime during lockdown that has seen them come back in peak physical condition. It's 4 league games unbeaten now including 3 wins in a row for the Bluebirds. The impact of our substitutes have been key with the likes of Robert Glatzel, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, and Lee Tomlin delivering when they've come on. We've also only lost 1 of our last 11 home league games.
Charlton continue to go about their season with controversy once again hounding the club off the field. Paul Elliott was confirmed as the new owner and chairman of the club on 10th June but the fact some Addicks fans have edited in Nigel Farage as their owner and chairman on Wikipedia suggests the takeover hasn't exactly won the fans over. Lee Bowyer's side are 18th in the league table after back-to-back 1-0 wins away to Hull and at home to QPR since restarting. The club is now 3 points clear of the relegation zone but there's still a lot of work for the players to do.
I need to be careful because I'm slowly gaining optimism that Cardiff could reach the play-offs this season. Harris has addressed a lot of issues that were holding us back such as the lack of pace and poor positioning in defence, our lacklustre midfield, and our impotent attack. We're now organised at the back, relentless in midfield with Will Vaulks, Leandro Bacuna, and Joe Ralls leading by example, and both Callum Paterson and Glatzel are proving a handful up front. This will be tough though. Bowyer has worked hard with Charlton over the break. The London club do have the lowest shots per game average in the table and I imagine they'll come here happy to set up for a draw. I can't foresee anything other than a laborious game with the odd goal deciding the winner if there is one. I have to back Cardiff here though.
