The day’s nap runs here in this 1m 2F class 2 handicap. Roger Varian saddles his King Power owned three year old gelding by Holy Roman Emperor who has won two of his five starts this season. His best effort however came last time out when chasing home Ajero in a decent Goodwood handicap where he came from the back finding plenty of trouble. He can be marked up from that effort and with Kevin Stott replacing Ray Dawson can take the spoils today. The James Tate trained Wait To Excel is chasing a hat trick having won his maiden at Hamilton and a class 4 handicap at Ripon. The form of his handicap win has however not really worked out and I’m happy to oppose him. William Haggas saddles Post Impressionist who looked a horse to follow earlier in the season when he chased home the current St Leger second favourite Eldar Eldarov on the all weather at Newcastle. He’s flopped in his two subsequent starts though and with the handicapper only dropping him a pound and wearing a first time tongue tie has questions to answer. For me Kitsune Power should be favourite and he’s worth a bet.

Thanks Brigadier, followed you in on Kitsune Power ?

  2. Did Norwich, Watford, WBA treble, but Watford were pretty disappointing, barely had a shot after they equalised. Jaoa Pedro put in a 1/10 performance but somehow the manager missed it and kept him on for the entire game!

Reloading with Blackburn and WBA double around 2.75/1.

Reading seem to be in a bit of a mess and are struggling for numbers, losing 4-0 to Rotherham is a bad sign! While Blackburn have started strongly and are scoring goals.

WBA have impressed me despite not picking up many points, and are probably my tip for the league at this stage, Wallace a huge signing for them and creates so much. Think Grant is out injured but they should still have enough here.

What's that under? I can only see evens for 2 or more and 15/8 for 3 or more in the list of winning distance specials for the race.

Sorry, I didn't see that. Was on the main page under "Turbo Boost", they might have been feeling sorry for me after I lost a meaty football bet last night ?

Impressive to do that to a horse as good as Mishriff.

  4. Persian Force 4:15 Curragh (5/1 SBK). Cracking race. Bradsell the right fav after 2 great wins, but at the prices I've got to go for Hannon's horse. I thought Hollie Doyle kicked at just the right moment at Ascot and put the race to bed for Bradsell. I can see the super straight forward Persian Force at least closing that gap and the price looks too big.

fav had on off day but winner was in another league, highly impressive!

  5. Big ask for all the promoted clubs, including us! But we obviously mean business judging on the money we've spent. Lingard looks a brilliant signing and just the type of player we needed, if he does well then maybe we can stay up.

I can see Fulham finishing bottom, I don't really rate the manager and they seem to have some real weaknesses, Ream was just about ok for the Championship but he's not up to the Premier League and Robinson is just bad. Surprised they let Seri go, was one of their most important players.

  6. Great write up! Feel like I'm much more up to speed now :clap

Agree that Norwich are the obvious ones again and look a fair price at 6/1. Not amazing insight but Watford also should be up there too!

WBA seem to have bought well and I can see them doing way better this season.

I like Wilder and thought I would want to back Middlesbrough for top 6 but their signings haven't inspired me.

Sheffield United have looked really poor in pre-season and managed to lose 3-0 to Mansfield. Gibbs White was one of their main sparks last season and I can see them missing out on the playoffs.

Pukki the obvious choice for top scorer at 8/1, has turned 32 but managed 11 goals in the Premier League last year and scores for fun at this level. Brereton might not stay at Blackburn and has got to back up what he did last season anyway.
