Monaco vs Amiens

The Ligue 1 action takes a step closer to its finale this weekend with just two league games remaining. There is still a lot to be determined this campaign but the relegation battle is certainly one of the more absorbing issues at hand. That's why I'm looking at Monaco versus Amiens in an 8pm kick-off tomorrow evening at the Stade Louis II.

Monaco are in a horrific run of form with 4 defeats and 3 draws from their last 7 league matches. The initial bounce felt by the return of Leonardo Jardim has now worn off and it feels like this side that were crowned Ligue 1 champions just two seasons ago could be facing a humiliating relegation to Ligue 2.

Amiens travel to the principality with every reason to fancy their chances here. Christophe Pelissier's men have lost just 1 of their last 11 league games this season. OK, so they have drawn 8 of those but it shows how tough they've become to break down. The team sits in 16th place knowing a draw could well see them safe if Caen lose away to Lyon. 5 clean sheets in their last 8 league matches shows they can tighten up at the back when needed but can they keep this dangerous Monaco attack at bay?

It's very tempting to back the underdog with Amiens priced generously for the draw no bet and double chance. I'm afraid I just think the quality present within Monaco's side will likely be enough to sneak a narrow win. The odds on a home win aren't great but I feel it's such a likely outcome that it's the bet you have to look at taking.

Who would have expected that Monaco with this roster would be equal to the third from the end of Caen and that he would be in danger with relegation. Besides, today's penultimate match is played in Shabiana and each loss is not corrected. The home match against Amian is unrelated and must win
