bluemal Posted August 18, 2017 Share Posted August 18, 2017 Ripon 3.15 Pipers Note @ 12/1 Ladbrokes e/w thanks Pipers Note....from Ruth Carr yard the 7yo has won ten times in his flat turf career and is a C&D winner here five times although he's only won twice for this yard after coming last October from Richard Whitaker yard , He won here 6f class 3 race in June on good to soft off 95 mark which earned him a 3lb penalty which he carried in next race at Doncaster 6f class 3 good to firm so has had win on various conditions which is a plus but another 3lb penalty , His last run came 7 days ago at Ascot 5f good to soft when 4th with of ten runners beat 2.75 lengths off 101, Slightly awkward start and had to chase leader got upsides well over 1f out but new leader on outside was just to quick and was one pace on run to line with Neil Callan in saddle , the good thing for yard is the Handicapper took 2lbs off to 99 for this race and yard bring James Sullivan back in to ride as he was on those two wins for yard Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Not seen since fitness is taken on trust. However he has the pedigree to do well as a three year old and should enjoy the step up in trip to 10f. His sire Cape Cross has a significant record in softish conditions at this track too. An opening mark of 82 in a race where the main rivals are seemingly older horses could be lenient.
