He came back to form last time out at Donny and is not out of it by any means. Hunt Cup winner GM Hopkins has to be on the shortlist too, he won the consolation in 2014 so goes on the track and wears a hood for the first time.My idea of the winner is the Stoute horse Abseil, lightly raced this season and could be one that is well handicapped. A good third at York was followed by a similar effort at Epsom and has Ryan Moore back from injury. He's 17lb better of with Bronze Angel for 5 1/2L this time around and the ground wouldn't be as fast this year which is good. Hasn't shown his best this year but has been running in Group and Listed races for the most part and has probably been trained with this race in mind. David Probert takes the ride today and he has been aboard for the horses 2 victories so far. Good ground absolutely no problem as he proved last time out however a bit of cut could arguably enhance his chances further. Never raced over today's trip but has won over 8.5f on soft ground so I wouldn't think 9f would pose too much of a problem. Good luck all. Just 3lb higher now and every reason to think the horse could go close here under the same jockey.
