Weekly NAPS competition | Monday 18th May

Re: Weekly NAPS competition | Monday 18th May 7:45 Leicester - Cyril (8/1 Ladbrokes) 1pt Win Is weighted to get much closer to Muqarred than when they met last time out. My selection had to come from a much less favorable position than the winner there, shaping as though the step up in trip would suit (breeding also backs up this view) and is now more than double the price of Muqarred tomorrow. Has not always looked straight forward but I would be surprised if he did not have the ability to win off this sort of mark.

Re: Weekly NAPS competition | Monday 18th May 4.20 Redcar - Sir Lancelott win @ 11/4 PaddyPower Ran very well last time out to finish third behind Swaheen and Mystic Miraaj. He was travelling best throughout the race and had his run stopped multiple times so did well to finish just a length behind the winner. The race has worked out fairly well with Swaheen running well at York to get a place and Mystic Miraaj winning. Sir Lancelott is only 1lb higher than last time so with a clear run should get close especially as this race is no better than his last. He is down in trip which shouldn't be a problem as he has won over a mile and he is running on good to firm ground which also shouldn't hurt his chances as he ran on GF last time out. The trainer is going great guns and with a clear run I think Sir Lancelott could extend his good run.

Re: Weekly NAPS competition | Monday 18th May 5.0 southwell Rural affair @ 8/1 bet365 first run for this appleby inmate at his local track. back down to a mark i think he can win at. The selection is 1/2 over 1 mile and this seams to be his best distance. there has been a few quid tonight for it and could be well backed tomorrow like most of his winners at the track are.

Re: Weekly NAPS competition | Monday 18th May Trainer karl Burke sends out just the one runner to Redcar, the French import has a few future entries and one of them is a Class 1 - today's race looks tight and he's not the only one making his debut, the chestnut geldings father was no beach donkey and that fact he also has 3 combined owners makes him even more appealing. Debut races are always a little hit or miss but lets have a roll of the dice, he's defo worth sticking in the NB for the future, he'll bag something on his travels. 2:20 Redcar - London Protocol. 1pt Win Bet @ 10/1 Bet365 . . . . . .''BOG''

Re: Weekly NAPS competition | Monday 18th May Towcester 3.10 Moonlight Maggie (7/1 bet365 bog) If non runner Southwell 5.30 Dr Red Eye Moonlight Maggie was a beaten favourite last time out at Southwell in a class 4, but maybe that class is beyond her. She has only won once before at today’s distance in a class 5. In fact the only 4 times she has troubled the judge in her career has been in class 5 at distances between 16f and 19f, which is what she encounters here today

Re: Weekly NAPS competition | Monday 18th May 3.00 Sou - Whispering Wolf - win at 10/1 bog betvictor 2yo maiden - very poor race The two market leaders here are drawn against the rail. They've both had a couple of runs and are already exposed as pretty useless but this is a shocking race so one of them will likely win However I'm going for what appears to be the best of the rest with a low draw and only one run to her name. Still has a chance to come on for the run and maybe overtake the two that have run twice. Of the two market leaders I favour Rampers, the 2nd favourite, as the only colt in the field.

Re: Weekly NAPS competition | Monday 18th May 410 Tow: Riddlestown 7/2 Sky/Coral Nice little handicap here with not a lot between the top three in the betting. The Kim Bailey horse won here last week and carries a 7lb penalty, it wants a great race and will find at least two stronger rivals here. I first was attracted to the Neil Mulholland horse with Noel Fehily riding but on closer inspectioni reckon he's ground dependent and won't want any rain at all and may want it firmer than it is now, he is on the upgrade though and has a chance. I like Riddlestown of the top three, lost his way completely in 2014 and early 2015 and pulled up four times. Not sure what was wrong but came back to form with a good third here in April and then bleed up last time at Southwell under todays rider Harry Skelton. Due to his poor spell he plummeted down the handicap so even with his penalty is still well handicapped on old form, he likes Towcester which is a big plus and the ground is fine. He could just have the edge today in a fascinating contest.

Re: Weekly NAPS competition | Monday 18th May 3.50 Redcar: Class 3 Handicap, 5f Tim Easterby's second string in this race, Mappin Time, has been very good on the All-Weather this winter. Judged on those efforts he must rate a lively chance today. He didn't perform in soft conditions at Chester recently, but that is a form easily to forgive. The minimum trip and quick ground is what he really needs and with a fine 7lb claimer in the saddle he should be a big runner. Mappin Time @ 12/1 Coral

Re: Weekly NAPS competition | Monday 18th May 14:50 Redcar : Lady Cordie @ 14/1 betfred e/w thanks Lady Cordie.......from Jim Goldie yard who send horse down from Central Scotland to Redcar, a 3yo that's only had the 3 runs two of which where as a 2yo on Good to Soft and Soft which saw poor runs in both races over 6f, The yard after those two runs last year gave it a 6 months break hopefully build up stamina and fitness and brought it out 21 days ago at Ayr 6f good to Firm where it did runner better to finish 4th and was keeping on entering final furlong . Goldie drops it back in distance to 5f and has Fergal Lynch on board who has plenty of experience

Re: Weekly NAPS competition | Monday 18th May 5.20 - Redcar - Hidden Rebel - 9/2 - StanJames BOG 2L second last time out over a mile but finished that race strongly so the extra 2f looks like it should suit. Goes off same mark today so must have a good chance. The worry is the jockey Garry Whillians who I have just read has gone 948 days without a winner.. that has to stop somewhere, surely!! Good luck.

Re: Weekly NAPS competition | Monday 18th May 3.30 southwell endless seas looks very interesting off a mark of 46in a weak handicap, as open to improvement, from a stable thats banging in the winners and tries this surface for the first time. could improve more than expected, so looks well worth a bet today. 1pt win 6/1 bet365 bog

Re: Weekly NAPS competition | Monday 18th May 4.30 Southwell Threave win 14/1 bet365 Pleading enough lto on first run since Oct , switches to this surface and only time at course was a 9/12 but that was on debut , has been better on turf as opposed to two big all weather defeats and rated identical on both surfaces so nothing in hand but was only btn 1/4L off this mark over 5f at ffos. Oisin isn't prolific here but fair enough s/r and rides for trainer for first time
