Nap of the Day - Wednesday 15th April 2015

Re: Nap of the Day - Wednesday 15th April 2015 4.55 Leopardstown: Corbata @ 15/8 PP The lightly raced Corbata ran a big race on his seasonal reappearance in a hot Handicap. He finished really well and looked for a moment like the winner but just got beaten in the final strides by two better horses. The winner went on to win a Group 3 last week, while the runner-up finished 4th in the 2.000 Guineas trial. The handicapper has been lenient in my mind as Corbata's new mark is up by only one single pounds. He takes on much lesser opposition here and could have way too much on his plate for this lot. Bottom weight Sakhees Jack is the main danger. A fine second on his seasonal reappearance, he has a chance of an unchanged mark. Red Ivy drops in class but has to prove her stamina. Fields Of May for Jim Bolger with first time blinkers can't be discounted of a slipping mark.

Re: Nap of the Day - Wednesday 15th April 2015 2.55 Newmarket - Ballymore Castle 1pt win @ 7/1 Hills The Warrior has plenty going for him here but his best form has come in soft conditions and I am happy to take him on with the Fahey horse who ran a couple of good races in big sales races last year. Hopefully he has trained on and with the Fahey horses going well, this horse wouldn't have to improve a great deal to win this race.

Re: Nap of the Day - Wednesday 15th April 2015 2.30 Beverly - Cotton Camera 1pt win 4/1 bet365 Dont rate the form of the brocklesby so cant have First Bombardment , o meara 0 from 26 at track with 2yos with 7 placed , 0/7 fto and none were placed so cant have that or their newcomer Halsall. This one comes from the fahey yard who , in the last 3 renewals , have had 2 entries resulting in a win and a hd second so its obviously a race the yard try to win. Sires won with 1 of its two juveniles the other day and sire itself was a winner at 2yo so positive there and trainer has one of the best records of fto 2yos at the track.

Re: Nap of the Day - Wednesday 15th April 2015 Kempton 8.15 - Sheikh The Reins 1pts win, (4/1 Bet365) Should be sharper today after his return run at Lingfield wasn't a bad run but best efforts have been here at Kempton, 8 lbs lower then last win.

Re: Nap of the Day - Wednesday 15th April 2015 350 Ch: Attaglance 11/2 bet365 Backed this at Cheltenham at the Festival but didn't get a clear run and was posted wide, still had a chance 3 out but weakened. This looks easier and has dropped a couple of pounds so have to give him one more try. Yard in form too.

Re: Nap of the Day - Wednesday 15th April 2015 2.40 Cheltenham - 1pt win Upham Atom @ 16/1 (Coral) Very much his time of year and ran better last time when not beaten far by two thriving staying types. Should come on again for that and a staying test like this suits. Getting on a bit now but won exactly a year ago off the same mark and hopefully he can go well again.

Re: Nap of the Day - Wednesday 15th April 2015 K6.45 Jessy Mae 1pt Win 20/1 Bet365 Alan Bailey has been doing really well in the last 2-3 weeks and this one might out-run its price in a field of unprolific winners. The selection is trying a new trip for the first time having not having had the speed to compete over 7-8 furlongs which is where it has been tried mainly previously to todays mile and a half. The horses style of running suggests the horse could be much more competitive here if it can sit not too far off the pace and outstay them late on. The early 20/1 is being nibbled at which is another encouraging sign.

Re: Nap of the Day - Wednesday 15th April 2015 2.40 cheltenham golden chieftain can win this if in the mood off an attractive looking mark of 122 and with the tongue tie and visor on for the first time. could be just what he needs to buck his ideas up, and if the applications work, then the race is there for the taking. no trip and ground worries, although wouldnt want it faster than good. 0.5pts ew 10/1 bet365 bog

Re: Nap of the Day - Wednesday 15th April 2015 2.30 Bev - Thee and Me - ew at 22/1 bog wm hill 2yo auction maiden My selection is a big price which probably suggests he's not ready for a yard that has got off to a poor start with it's 2yo - 0 from 7 so far However he is an expensive horse for this yard, which usually deals in bargain basement types. He was also the most expensive in the field and up against the ceiling for this race. I like the fact that his sales value increased the second time he went through the ring which suggest he had grown nicely from a foal to a yearling More importantly.......he's the first runner representing the magnificent Canford Cliifs as a sire.!
