Nap of the Day - Thursday 4th December 2014

Re: Nap of the Day - Thursday 4th December 2014 4.45 Kempton Very much the weaker division of this handicap with plenty of these badly out of form and plenty to prove. Live Dangerously is an obvious front runner for this field, badly out of sorts at present but may appreciate return to 5f. Aaranyow scored at 50/1 at Wolves 3 starts ago in a maiden, has backed those efforts with 2 fair efforts in handicaps so they weren’t flukes, but does need to pull out a bit more at present. First Rebellion has shaped as if handicapper in charge at present however yard going well. Mossgo wasn’t beaten far last time out, drawn out wide and used a lot of energy to get to the front. Very well handicapped on 2yr old form however plenty of hardened front runners in this field may make this hard. Incomparable might worth taking a chance on another prominent racer but is just as happy sitting behind the leaders. Handicapper dropped him 4lb for latest disappointing run which makes him look dangerously handicapped again. Kirby a positive booking with a return to 5f and first time visor tried. 1pt win Incomparable 7/1 bet365

Re: Nap of the Day - Thursday 4th December 2014 2.05 Leicester - Clan William win @ 7/2 Ladbrokes Clan William ran well lto and looked to be on for a finish in the top 2 before falling at the last. A repeat of that run with a clean round of jumping should see him go close if the fall hasn't left it's mark. He is unexposed over fences - having only had 2 races over the larger obstacles. These have resulted in a 5th (over an inadequate trip) and a fall but on the whole I feel he has looked a sound enough jumper and should probably improve. He should enjoy this trip as he has won over the distance before and the ground shouldn't be a problem either. The yard is flying at the moment and had 2 winners yesterday. The main threat could be Malibu Sun who won lto but he is giving a stone to Clan William which for me gives Clan William the upper hand if getting round safely.

Re: Nap of the Day - Thursday 4th December 2014 Wincanton 2.45 - Minella Definitely (1pts win, 4/1 BetVictor) Comes here seeking the hat trick after two wins at Market Rasen and Bangor and races off 8lbs higher here then for his 8 length win at Bangor, if he's in the same mood should be bang there.

Re: Nap of the Day - Thursday 4th December 2014 Kempton 4:15 - Pearl Noir WIN @ 8/1 Boylesports Dixon yard is doing ok at the moment and if this horse is on a going day he will be very hard to catch over the minimum. A lot of Dixon's horses like to blaze a trail and when they are fit they run off like bullets. Won over this trip at Wolverhampton in October and is only 3 pounds higher now but Tim Clark takes off a handy 5.

Re: Nap of the Day - Thursday 4th December 2014 MR 1.55 - Oscars Way - win at 5/1 bog wm hill Marathon handicap chase This looks a very poor race for a class 4 and I'm going for the runner who might just turn out to be a bit better than this. He's unexposed at the trip and over fences. Was running over 2 or 2.5 miles before stepping up to 3 and a quarter miles to win easily over hurdles for his sole win to date. Ran OK on chase debut; beaten 9 lengths at Huntingdon in a better race than this. He made a few jumping errors that day but the fences are Huntingdon are pretty stiff. They're more forgiving at MR so I'm hopeful he will jump a bit better

Re: Nap of the Day - Thursday 4th December 2014 13.55 Market Rasen - Class 4 handicap Chase - 3m 5f 5 runner marathon chase on soft ground. Oscars Way - 6yo novice chaser with joint top weight and one previous chase run when 4th at Huntingdon over 3m. Made a couple of mistakes on chase debut. Open to progression with just 12 career runs but big task off top weight and a lot of fences to jump for an inexperienced chaser. Won at 3m 2f over hurdles on good ground but this 3f further on soft ground. Urban Gale - Experienced chaser with 18 runs and 2 wins. Nearly always completes the course (PU 3 times in those 18 runs) which indicates that he can jump fences. Chase winner at 3m 4f on soft ground. Third in the voided Sedgefield race last time out over the same distance as today 3m 5f. Gets the trip, consistent finisher and ground suits. Joint top weight. Around A Pound - Just the 4 chase runs and pulled up on chase run when attempting 3m 1f. Ground likely to not be an issue but question marks about getting this long trip. Probably better at 2m 4f to 3m rather than the 3m 5f today. 2 hurdles wins were over much shorter. Minella Bliss - 8 chase runs to date but fell last time out at Southwell. Looks capable of getting the distance but have doubts about the ground. Looks to better on good ground and best efforts on better ground than today. Volio Vincente - 10 chase runs with 3 wins and bottom weight but won last week at Fontwell and turned out with 7lb penalty but conditional jockey this time claiming 7lb. Looks inconsistent and all 3 previous wins have been followed by poor performances. Although carrying a light weight runs of his highest OR. Should get the trip as completed a chase at 3m 6f but that was on good ground. Won 3 times at 3m 2.5f on heavy and good to soft twice. Verdict Urban Gale gets the trip, will be suited by the ground and looks certain to complete the course. Currently the outsider of the 5 runners but looks better than that. Urban Gale - Win @ 11\2 Coral BOG

Re: Nap of the Day - Thursday 4th December 2014 2.45 WINCANTON CANADIAN DIAMOND @28/1 Bet365 BOG ew Was runner up 5 times last year off marks ranging from todays mark of 120 to 127. Last win came off of only 1lb lower. Has to put last run behind him but that was his first run for 4 months and the Heavy ground (never really performed on) viable excuses. All his best form has come on ground similar to today, a massive price.

Re: Nap of the Day - Thursday 4th December 2014 1.00 Leicester: Taj Badalandabad 7/4 SJ Not much sticks out today but i did think this horsed from the Pipe yard did his job well at Chepstow last time out and looked to have learnt a lot from his hurdling debut at Wetherby. That race has worked out very well with the first two winning since and the third being a fair yard stick. Formerly a useful bumper horse and should enjoy this better ground and can defy the penalty.

Re: Nap of the Day - Thursday 4th December 2014 3.50 winc Do we like him @ 5/1 bet 365 good to see a bit of money for this one. Trainer has great strike rate with NH flat horses at the mo. This one could go off fav if trianer gets a winner earlier in the card. King horse is an unknown but if the selection builds on last seasons run at the track he could be great value.
