Coco Gauff to win Roland Garros 2022 at 5.50 with Betsson
I think Coco now 18 years old is finally beginning to show her true potential. It's also time for an untimely defeat sooner or later for Iga as she's currently on a 33 match winning streak.

Mikael Ymer to beat @+1200 to beat Tsitsipas
    Mackenzie Mcdonald@+800 to beat Sinner
    Shelby Rogers@+210 to beat Kasatkina
With William Hill: Here we have some clear inflated lines. I agree with four leaf's read, and had already bet this.. Ymer hit 49 winners in his last match.. He's friendly with Stefanos, and could be a let down, and rest spot for the Greek. I'm high on Mcdonald for some reason.. I like the way he hits the ball and his experience.. He has a history of doing well with surprises in majors.. Let's also not forget that Sinner may be dealing some feet issues, and might not be playing at his peak level if that's the case for this match.. I just like Rogers on clay.. she hits hard, and plays well when she's on. I see the match very close, and tough to deal with Shelby's firepower.

Thanks @Torque. I'd love to see more of your tips like that.. Win or lose - it's always good to see what people are betting and why.  I actually like Mcdonald more than Ymer, and just betting Mikael at big odds.. I'm sure I'll get proven wrong, but it could be a close match also. I think Stefanos might be experimenting on his backhand drive a bit.. Could explain some mixed results recently.

I'm trying a boosted acca today, plus a couple of WTA matches and adding to an outright position. The boosted acca contains four WTA favourites who should win and that's Kasatkina, Sabalenka, Pegula and Badosa. I'm least convinced by Sabalenka's chances because her serving woes might decide to make an appearance, plus her opponent Giorgi has a very high level when she's on and she's looked good so far here and so I'm backing Giorgi in a single separately. The other player I want to back is Jeanjean, who played really well against Pliskova to make this round. Her reward is a match against Begu and whilst Begu is a better clay court player than Pliskova, if I'm Jeanjean then I'm viewing this as a match I can definitely win having just taken down a top 10 player.
The outright I'm adding to, despite my misgivings, is Tsitsipas. As I've mentioned, it's very difficult to see how he can win this with the way his game is right now but at the same time I think his price has been disproportionately impacted by his lacklustre performances so far. The fact remains he made the final last year, clay is his favourite surface, his form coming here was good, he's a top 5 player and he should be making the next round at least. He'll need to step up if he's going to be in contention towards the end of this tournament, but as Alcaraz demonstrated last night it's not beyond the realms of possibility.

10pts Kasatkina (vs. Rogers) x Sabalenka (vs. Giorgi) x Pegula (vs. Zidansek) x Badosa (vs. Kudermetova) @ 4.39 365
    10pts Giorgi to beat Sabalenka @ 3.50 365
    15pts Jeanjean to beat Begu @ 3.40 365

I can completely understand anyone who's backing Ymer. If you're right about Tsitsipas experimenting with his backhand, he might want to give that a rest until after the tournament. It's better to have a weak shot you feel confident about hitting than a new shot you're not so sure about hitting, even if it is a better shot when you get it right. He does need to work on his backhand, but now is definitely not the time - especially as it can take a lot of time to remodel any shot.

Mikael Ymer to beat Stefanos Tsitsipas at 14.00 with Betsson
If you think Stefanos can beat Ymer then you haven't seen Stefanos playing. Ymer for the huge upset according to the market.

Elise Mertens to beat Varvara Gracheva at 1.44 with BetVictor
Keeping it simple today with just this one, Mertens has been finally on the up recently and has had more than enough time to recover from any fitness issues given the walkover in the second round. Gracheva nearly lost against Sharma and then beat the semi-injured Tomljanovic, nothing great.

Just a boosted treble for me today and a couple more outright bets. The treble consists of Ruud, Medvedev and Sinner all to win which has been boosted to nearly even money. Ruud and Sinner should be easy winners and so the wildcard is Medvedev who doesn't have the best record on clay but even considering that this seems worth taking, particularly as he was talking positively after his first round match. I don't think he'll find it easy against Djere, who's a very competent clay court player who pushed Djokovic hard on the surface recently, but I do think he'll get the win although probably with a dropped set along the way.
In the outrights, I'm adding to my position on Alcaraz as his price has drifted. Most likely the drift is due to him struggling so badly as such a big favourite against Ramos-Vinolas and also because of the potential impact of accumulated fatigue. In normal circumstances I'd agree that so much energy spent on the court against an opponent who was supposed to have been beaten easily would be a bad thing, but in this case I think it might do more good than harm. Coming into this tournament there was a question mark about how Alcaraz would cope in longer matches, and having just played and won the longest match of his career and having done it from two sets to one down that question has been answered. I think it'll give Alcaraz a big boost to know that he can go the distance and find a way to win when not at his best and staring down the barrel of defeat, which is what all the best players are able to do if needed.
I've also added to my bet on Tsitsipas as he's also drifted slightly which is probably to do with easy wins for both Djokovic and Nadal. He plays today and should get a win in straight sets, which should help to offset his exertions against Musetti in the last round.

10pts Ruud (vs. Ruusuvuori) x Medvedev (vs. Djere) x Sinner (vs. Carballes Baena) @ 1.94 365

I think Baez will definitely struggle in this weather as well. A stockier, physically bigger player like Lajovic will dominate him, and is def worth taking at 16 to 10 (score is 1-1 lajovic break point).

Despite all the bad things Benoit Paire can do, everyone knows he has talent.
Unfortunately his lack of involvement has totally killed his career.
I think he is motivated to win a match or two in Paris.
The odds are very good for the first round.

I've got two singles, an acca and a couple of outrights ahead of today's play. One single is a favourite and that's Gasquet. The veteran Frenchman gave a good account last week in Geneva and should have too much for Harris, who hasn't really got started yet this season due to injury and who isn't a fan of the clay. The other single is a big dog at a nice price in the shape of Rodriguez Taverna. He lives on clay and hasn't played on anything else for a quite some time, he has some nice wins in qualifying here and he's facing an opponent in Fritz who hasn't played for nearly a month.
For the acca, I'm rolling up Cilic, Korda, Martinez and Trevisan which pays plus money. Cilic plays Balazs and looking at the Hungarian's recent form and fitness it's possible he's only turning up for the cheque; Korda has underwhelmed so far this clay swing but Millman could be the perfect opening opponent here as he's fairly limited on clay; Martinez is in poor form since he took the title in Santiago but so is his opponent Laaksonen and the Spaniard beat him here a few years back; and Trevisan is coming here after winning her maiden WTA title in Morocco which should mean she takes care of Dart without too much fuss.
On to the outrights and I'm backing Nadal and Tsitsipas on the Men's side. The Nadal bet is a risk due to uncertainties about his foot injury, but if he's able to manage it and not exert himself too much in the early rounds then he should be making the latter stages as usual. I don't think he's ever been this big a price to win this tournament and that's hard to resist. Tsitsipas looks like the player to side with in his half of the draw and his form coming here is good. There's question marks over his mentality, especially after the collapse in the final last year but he really should be able to go deep again.

    45pts Gasquet to beat Harris @ 1.57 365
20pts Rodriguez Taverna to beat Fritz @ 7.00 Boyles
10pts Cilic (vs. Balazs) x Korda (vs. Millman) x Martinez (vs. Laaksonen) x Trevisan (vs. Dart) @ 2.06 365
10pts Nadal to win ATP French Open @ 6.49 Betfair Exchange

Hugo Dellien/Dom Thiem over 38.5 games at 1.85 with Nordicbet
Here I think we'll probably see something of a tussle where both players will grind out some sets.
Even if Dom is lagging behind nowadays after injuries he's not someone you just run over easily in a claymatch.

FAA might have lost in the opening round of the RG last 2 years but he has a new coach last year, Toni Nadal, the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal.  FAA is much better prepared this time and in much better condition compared to the last 2 editions.  Therefore I think winning the 1st round this time within 4 sets is within his ability.

Mihaela Buzarnescu to beat Mirjam Bjorklund at 1.93 with Unibet
Going for the experience angle in this one, otherwise this does look pretty 50/50 to me. Bjorklund hasn't actually made it to any GS main draws just yet and that sort of thing can get to you, even if you have been playing well up to that point. She's never convinced me with her quality, either, so I was looking for Buzarnescu at around 1.70.

I think there a a few matches worth taking today.
Djoko looks very good. Only issue is a mental one, where he loses a little focus ... but as for hitting the ball, he looks great. For me the key matchup is backhand cross court, where the Tsitsipas (1 handed) backhand will not hold up. Djoko too consistent, patient, powerful and accurate here. Just for fun, go and find a youtube video of Djoko doing backhand rotations with a medicine ball (https://www.facebook.com/TennisLegendOfficial/videos/novak-djokovic-medecine-ball-workout/10153373516061806/). Holy cow ... Crazy strong, I get tired from watching him. Djoko will pound him into the ground there, and will win a relatively close match.
Jabeur is on borrowed time in this tournament. Should have been beaten by Sakkari, and even yesterday Kasatkina was serving at 5-4 deciding set. Kasatkina gave it away dropping serve twice in a row and losing 7-5 in the decider. Jabeur probably quite tired, after two 3 setters in a row, while Swiatek comes into this match fresh, after a 6-1 6-2 demolition of Sabalenka. For me this match is an absolute no-contest. Swiatek will move better, serve better, hit the ball better, and be stronger mentally and fresher physically. First set is probably crucial, but when Swiatek wins it, there is NO WAY that Jabeur can come back (of course the odds will be miniscule).
I don't like the starting -5.5 handicap, but if/when Swiatek wins the 1st set, the 2nd may just be one way traffic (so maybe an inplay bet here). I would be going Swiatek in 2 sets (1.5).
As mentioned before I see Claire Lui is in the final of the WTA in Paris, played Haddad Maia. I am happy with a smallish bet on her winning here (at odds of even money).
I'll take her as a single and Djoko and Swiatek as a double.
I'm off to play tennis (8.30 am kickoff). 4 tough sets of doubles, then some breakfast with the guys. Weather looks perfect. Great morning ahead ?

Just for the match starting now between Auger Aliasimme and Davidovich Fokina. Fokina can more than match Felix physically, and I think he wins a close one. I think Felix has such a limited game. It's stand on the baseline and hit it as hard as possible, which just won't win matches against tough physical opponents. He needs to develop a drop shot (ala Alcaraz), and a little more finesse,  which will open up the court and set his game up. At the moment I don't think his is capable of doing this, so I give the edge to Davidovich here.
