I use to think in terms of "never bet odds on" and by odds on I really meant shorter than 2/1! That was a long time ago though.
In terms of the spreads I used to think "sell high and buy low" but really meant "just buy low, never sell as it's too risky". Now I tend more to "sell everything and rarely buy anything".

A long time ago I used to think that value only really existed at odds against, and it's a line you see trumpeted all over the place. The reality though, and it makes perfect sense, is it can exist at any price.

After two rounds the main guy I'll be rooting for from here is Mito Pereira for @Fader and @harry_rag so come on Mito lad lets kick on with the excellent form Saturday and Sunday.
I also noticed Cameron Young and Taylor Gooch are in decent positions for your spread bets Harry so well done indeed, as I feel it's been a tough event so far.
My guys as alluded to yesterday have slim pickings for Major glory so I will be cheering for a Mito masterclass at Southern Hills the next two days. #Mito'sOnFire

16.48 if you dutch best exchange price. Kasatkina is the only player available at better odds with the bookies; 80/1 on offer with PP or Lads. The latter the place to go if you think she's worth an interest as, with boost, you can get her at 100/1 e/w versus just 60 win only on BF.

Well, I know nothing about tennis but I'd say unappealing at the price. You could easily beat those odds by shopping around and dutching the players yourself, or just by doing so on the exchange. I have no view on the prospect of the players but I reckon you could get at least 15 with a little "leg work".

Doesn't look good to me. Rybakina is too inconsistent, Mertens struggles to get easy wins so wears herself out towards the end of tournaments, Tauson isn't ready yet. At least Anisimova and Kasatkina are in some good form so maybe they could have a run.

3 finishing position sells for me; more at the long-shot end of the spectrum  but seen them mentioned and will hopefully outperform their prices.
Cameron Young at 43, Talor Gooch at 45 and Mito Pereira at 48

Three win only darts for me. All prices Bet365
    Collin Morikawa 20/1
In the previews I have read the course will supposedly require strong approach play. And whenever that is mentioned I always automatically associate that statement with Mr Morikawa. Also last four majors he has played in he has form figures of 8415 so clearly gets the juices flowing for the big events.

    Patrick Cantlay 20/1
Finished 2nd last time out at RBC Heritage. Which I do believe to be a course that requires strong approach play. Ice cool temperament, though my slight reserve with this guy is his recent form in the Majors isn't that great.

    Brooks Koepka 35/1
Mr Major himself. I don't feel he is the force he was a couple of years ago. Though I would be kicking myself if he romps away in this knowing his previous form in Majors and that any other tournament he plays in his form figures mean very little as he openly admits to lack motivation for any event other than the Majors.

    Good luck to all.

Tie should have been over as you say. But judged on the first leg it's hard to see Forest not winning and the price looks generous.
I prefer over 2.5 goals though, Sheffield will go for it if still behind in the 2nd half and we can pick them off, so either way I'd expect goals.

    Nottingham Forest vs Sheffield United
The second game from the Championship Play-Off Semi-Final second legs is a clash between Nottingham Forest, supported by our very own @yossa6133, and Sheffield United, backed by my long time friend Jon, in a 7:45pm BST kick-off from the City Ground. The home team come into this game with a narrow 2-1 lead from the first leg so you have to think it really is theirs to win now... or is it?!
Nottingham Forest have turned their season around in dramatic fashion under Steve Cooper and momentum is clearly back with the Tricky Trees now. Goals from Jack Colback and Brennan Johnson helped the team to a first leg win at Bramall Lane and they simply have to avoid defeat on home turf in this second leg to progress to the final. You can argue that Forest should really have put this tie to bed already after their dominance in the first leg. Home form for Forest is nothing short of impressive recently with the team winning each of their last 4 home matches and have won their last 8 league games on home turf. Another impressive statistic is that Forest have scored an average of 1.9 goals at home this season.
Sheffield United appeared to look overwhelmed in their first leg defeat. Sander Berge's late goal restored hope within the Blades ranks but they'll be wary of the threat that awaits them after taking a bit of a pounding in their own backyard. Still, play-off games can be equally as decided by wasted chances as they are by chances that teams take. The Blades have only managed 1 win in their last 7 away games so that poor away form will need to be turned around rapidly by Paul Heckingbottom's men. Nothing less than a victory will do here. It doesn't help that Sheffield United haven't won at the City Ground since a 1-0 win back on 9th December, 2008.
Right, so Sheffield United have only won 1 of the last 7 meetings with Nottingham Forest. After the first leg, I'm not sure there's much evidence to suggest that will change here. Forest are looking like the far superior team and I really can't find a reason to put my money behind the away team here. I think there is a big onus on United to open the scoring otherwise the tie is dead. I feel it is all but dead already though.

If the player finished clear 4th (no-one else on the same score as him/her) then the correct payout would have been £55.25 but if they were tied with one other player then it would be halved to £27.63 (Half stake treated as a winner and half treated as a loser as the players are sharing 4th and 5th place.). If more than 2 players were tied for 4th place then the settlement is generous!
(Just to check something; I assume you didn't write "equally divided" or "E.D." on the slip? - I'm not sure if Hill's would accept such an instruction for a golf bet but it would have a bearing on the correct settlement!)

What's so absurd about it is how quickly it's collapsed. Having committed to it you thought they might have tried to brazen it out a bit longer. They all look ridiculous (as well as despicable) now. They've been taken aback by the reaction of the "legacy" fans? Surely you don't plunge headfirst into something like this without having done a bit of market research!
It's like announcing you plan to start sleeping with the wife's sister every other Wednesday and wondering why she's lobbing volleys of crockery at you!

Some good each way returns from this event. Spieth and Matsuyama for @Xtc12 and Schauffele for @fd1972uk with a barnstormer of a last round.
Just a pity, last year's defending Champion Kyounghoon Lee also had a barnstormer of a last round to grab the win.
Second Major of the year, US PGA Championships, upcoming this week.
