Hmm just another thought, you can highlight text and other stuff on internet pages in colour using some sort of "paint" software; not sure whether it would suit your purpose though.  Also, I believe the online information could be additional help for you

I am old ! ? and in the habit of doing it my way. Probably a lot quicker for me using the paper version.

Very many thanks for being helpful. I am currently working on trainer stats fro winner finding so that is really useful.

Just a thought.  If you are buying the RP 6 days a week that is costing around £1310 per year at its new price of £4.20 per day.  If you switch to subscribing on-line at say £35 a month you will pay around £420 per year saving £890.00!  You can still access the digital newspaper and see all the info you get daily; it's a bit messy but you can zoom in and out of the text on the pages.

I probably could save a little, but I mark the paper with Highlighters and different colour inks etc which you can't do online. The saving may be around £18 per week but my bets are large enough that it doesn't really affect my profit/loss when included.

Quite amusing that no one on the forum seems to be able to report on any profitable angles using the Racing Post, both digital newspaper and online version.  Does this mean that punters up and down the country are wasting their £4.20 (was £3.90 last week) a day for the printed version or £34.50 monthly subscription for the online version?

I buy the Racing Post Mon - Sat , but always take Sunday off as a different type of day/ rest day.

There are many angles, too many (there can be too much information) as they often contradict and confuse. My advice is to not try and overthink things (it will do your head in). I always check the last 14 days trainer stats for trainers who are HOT ( winners not just Running to Form). Reduce your workload by, number of runners, racetype, and start from there. Finally, don't forget that the RPR ratings are only running at 26% for this year, so treat with caution.

I did have King Cool listed but it was 5/1 last night and is way too short for me today at 9/4.  Good luck with it and the rest of your selections anyway

Always take notice of a Gary Moore runner that is backed at Fontwell. It is 16lb lower than when 2nd in this race previously. It is 10 years old ( a bit of a negative for me), but off bottom weight, and being supported, I can not leave it out. My bet is on now , so whatever will be will be.

  6. October running total = + 2.25 pts

Wow, Saturday is really busy, way too much racing IMO.

    Todays selections - bet365 B.O.G.

    *** 3.25 Font - King Cool - 9/4 ... lost

    4.35 Font - Lacardio - 5/1 ... lost

    6.10 Font - Reinator - 11/8 ... lost

    7.30 Wolv - Flying Dragon - 11/4 ... WON

Well, the rain came and Fontwell turned into a bog, fortunately the AW selection was one of the easier winners of the day so a small 0.25pt loss.

Very unlucky yesterday with Graystown. Was going well enough with every chance when he fell. Thanks for posting your selections and, if you can maintain the strike rate and SPs, this must be a winner. Do you have any previous years’ P/L figures?

    Thanks again and good luck.

I do have records for quite some time, BUT, I added an extra filter a while back ( made a big difference - reduced bets but not profit). Because of this I am not able to give completely accurate figures other than since the new filter was added. It does have the occasional 'blip' but is robust enough to cope. I personally back all of these myself as I have stated and I am well in front. Win run = 3, Lose run = 5 (once). An example is 'Air Hair Lair' (7/2) today, would have qualified but fails the final filter.

    October total = -1 pt

    No Qualifiers today

Air Hair lair won LOL. Won't be counted as not 'officially' a selection.

  8. As I wrote (can't exactly remember where), I have a National Hunt handicap selection method that has worked well for some time now and am willing to post selections after I have placed my bet. There are not selections every day, but the strike rate has been solid around 50% or so. Prices are decent (average around 3/1+). Hoping that it continues now posting on here.

    Todays selection - bet365 - B.O.G.

    4.05 Hex - Graystown - 9/2 ... lost ... fell 2 out when challenging for the lead.

hi there cuting back to 25p e/w i know it is doing ok just out of profit but as a trial i want to do all horses that fall in to the system and it is a bit of fun but if i go £30 down i will call it a day but if i go £30 up i will up the stakes again . i do belive this will be a winner with new season starting lee

I looked at last month Lee, and was surprised. If you include a price cap I am sure that you will turn it around as there are some nice winners.

  10. September ended up + 16.53 pts, but had a really poor end to the month. Start of a new month, so here we go again.

Three selections today, with 2 at Hexham which is a track that I struggle to work out.

I will start to put *** at the side of the 'best bet' in my opinion, for anyone just wanting 1 a day.

    Todays selections - bet365 B.O.G.

    1.45 Hex - Pateen 7/2 ... lost

    3.30 Hex - Bavington Bob - 15/8 ... WON 2/1

    ***4.55 Newc - Khatm - 10/11 ... WON 5/4

  11. Most systems will use the same information, LTO placing, days since a run, etc etc. Nothing wrong with that as an aid, but the masses use them and it can reduce the price making it difficult to make a profit. I would say that most 'systems', if followed to the letter, will fail over time.... especially if the 'formula' is shared and becomes public knowledge, as this leads to more people finding the selections and the average win price to reduce, making it unviable.

My National Hunt system ( I recommend different systems/methods for different disciplines) is  still going strong after a good period of time. The very 1st rule is different to any other system I have seen ( and I have seen hundreds). As an example, this month, September, not a busy month for the Jumps, has seen 21 selections, of which 13 have won, at an average price of around 7/2, and a +41pts return to level stakes. This is quite exceptional, even for this system, but it does make good profits regularly. I may start a thread next month for these, as I always post after my bets have been placed.

Not all of my bets come from systems, some are found by following trainers in good form (winners not just running to form), an example was my NAP yesterday, a Gillian Boanas runner, a small stable who have had a few winners recently at very good prices (mostly double figs). SMALL STABLES in FORM are definitely worth a look.
