Re: RussP's Specialisation - Big Field Handicaps (Flat)

Onto today, and staying away from Ascot: 5.45 Thirsk 20 declared, but only 17 face the starter in this 6f handicap, Class 4. Open race, going 6/1 the field: Continent (9/1 Sporting Odds) - on old form, the clear pick. Dandy Nicholls has 3 in this and I believe this to be his strongest hope. Ridden by the up & coming Silvestre De Sousa, this horse should go well from a favourable draw. On a winning mark and should be capable in this grade, with the step back up to 6f in its favour as is the cut in the ground. Has looked on its way back last 2 starts, finishing 2nd over inadequate trip 2 starts ago and poor draw lto.
:clap :nana :clap :nana Won @ 11/1 Cheers guys:ok

Who needs inside info....:clap:clap:clap
Good point, TBR. Look at the yield of that inside info thread, compared to the specialist threads on here of the likes of Mowgli & Bowles10, for example. I know which threads I'd rather be following;) . Yields of 30% upwards from these guys, with hours of study, certainly beats the 'inside info' IMO.

Definately right...When i came on here first i would say i "lazily" backed the ones in there..But now i'm starting to read the points etc and reasoning and i realise that is where all the fun/purpose of it all is... But in saying that no harm in the info if it's from a great source... So in saying that im learning bit by bit ,but for now i'm going to shamelessly steal you guys' tips...

Re: RussP's Specialisation - Big Field Handicaps (Flat)

Russ, you are genius!:clap :clap :clap How have you managed this incredible streak? What is your strategy when your picking these winners?
Thanks all:ok In answer to your post, Sonoftherock, click the link and read my post. http://www.punterslounge.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=50135 To be honest, it's probably just a lucky streak and a bad one is prob just around the corner?

Re: RussP's Specialisation - Big Field Handicaps (Flat) Well done Russ :clap Hard to believe you couldn't pick your nose a few weeks ago. Look at you now, you make Pricewise look like an amateur. ;) Haven't got the time lately to go through the form as much but funnily enough my Ascot picks for tomorrows competition are in the big handicaps. Keep up the good work mate, great to see you getting the recognition you richly deserve. :ok

Cheers Phil:ok I have to admit that it's going far better than I could have imagined. Just hope it carries on for a while longer. BTW, Pricewise is an amateur compared to the guys on PL:ok

Re: RussP's Specialisation - Big Field Handicaps (Flat) I'm going to have a little dabble at the Royal meeting today, but I am advising half stakes: 4.20 Royal Ascot 29 runners for the Hunt Cup over the straight mile here, Class 2: Capable Guest (33/1 Sporting Odds) - Price probably reflects its chance but I'm sure that there is a big handicap in this horse. Drawn middle in 12 so has options, and ridden by impressive jockey Hugh Bowman. Found 7f too short last time and probably didn't appreciate the softish going, but scooted up at Sandown the time before beating Humungous. Has run some big races in these types of races in the past and off much higher marks. Needs a break neck pace and likes to come from off the pace so todays race should suit as this track seems very fast this week.

Re: RussP's Specialisation - Big Field Handicaps (Flat) Over to the AW for one tonight: 9.10 Kempton 11 go to post for the last here, a 7f Class 4 handicap. Open race, with question marks over the market principles: Namid Reprobate (16/1 Sporting Odds) - If ready for its reappearance after 250 days off, then this is no 16/1 shot in my eyes. This horse has been campaigned in much better races than this and went off the boil towards the end of last season. However, reappears today off a 3lb lower mark and back in Class 4 for the first time for over a year. 7f seems to be its best trip so conditions look ideal tonight. Last time in this grade, this horse won over C&D off a 1lb lower mark. Interestingly, is 3 wins from 6 in Class 4 & below, yet is 0 from 7 in Class 3 & above. Good EW shout.

Re: RussP's Specialisation - Big Field Handicaps (Flat) Onto Thursday and I'm staying well away from the Royal meeting and heading north: 2.45 Ripon Provided it overcomes early inspection, this is 5f handicap, Class 5 with 14 runners. Need to look for something that will appreciate the going and this leads me to: Highland Warrior (RPF 10/1) - C&D winner and 2nd top weight here. Micky Fenton takes the ride and I am taking on risk on this horse returning to form. Drawn well in 13, and will definitely appreciate the soft ground over the minimum trip. Is beginning to look dangerously well handicapped, now down to 72, its lowest mark for 2 years, coincidentally when winning here over C&D by 5L on this ground. Drops to this grade too for first time in over 2 years, and all is set for a very big run. With several front runners vying for position, this horse can tuck in and be produced to come late and take this.
