Carl
Re: Time for a Nap Good horse that Grantley adams very consistant when conditions are right. Id be shocked if it wasnt 'up there' in the mix. :hope ps, I noticed Texas gold is running after finishing 4th yesterday at 22/1. Connections must feel that its in with a shout. FleetFanatic
Re: Time for a Nap 240 Goodwood - Grantley Adams 5pts ew @ 5/1 bet365 I fancy GRANTLEY ADAMS int he 240 - not far behind the useful Gimasha last time and who's only recent bad run came on softened ground at Ascot. Over a trip of 6f, his form reads: 7431223125363 The recent 6th was on unsuitable ground and the 5th was in a valuable handicap with 20 runners. Very consistent and looks and each way bet to nothing if you ask me? 5/1 available with bet365 :okAnd a winner at 9/2 :clap

Aykay1
Re: Time for a Nap Thanks lads :ok One for me today 505 yarmouth - Woodnock 5pts ew @ SP Consistent at this trip and unlucky last time out - a mark of 76 looks very fair judging by his last outing. Aykay1
Re: Time for a Nap 550 Kempton - Obrigado 5 pts ew @ SP Infuriatingly consistent without winning and should really have been given the elbow by now. He appears to have been unlucky in a good number of his races this year and whilst that is normally a reason to take a watching brief, my good mood today (Adebayooooorrr!) gives him another chance. He deserves to win a race this season and he's a backable (forecasted) each way price.

Aykay1
Re: Time for a Nap was that meant for another thread rhodri? :unsure Theres always plenty of selections posted daily anyway so take a look round and im sure you'll find something worth betting on :ok Onto tomorrow: 340 Brighton - Hadath 5 pts ew @ SP This ones a right little monkey and can prove hard to win with once he hits the front. Tomorrows jockey won on him 2 starts ago and judged the ride superbly, not hitting the front until late on. Hadath remains in good form and finshed a good 2nd last time out with Seb Sanders on board. The amateur jockey is back on again tomorrow and takes off 7lb's which should help. 315 Beverley - Strike Up the Band - 10 pts win @ SP 5f sprints at Beverley on firm ground- history shows you invariably want a horse drawn high, who can dominate races from the front. I can see 2 that fit the bill here and that is the selection and Bond City. Philarmonic is the RP's selection, but despite the obvious drop in class, im slightly worried he may be outpaced over this shorter trip after racing mainly over 6&7f. SUTB has looked to have returned to form over the last 3 runs and looks fairly treated at the weights against some of these. Like Philarmonic, he has run in exclusively Class 1 and 2 grade races and this drop in class will obviously help. If he can grab the rail before the likes of Bahamian Pirate, who should lack the pace on this quick ground, he can take advantage of his draw in stall 7. Aykay1
Re: Time for a Nap 255 Haydock: Continent 5pts ew @ 12/1 bet365 Stanley Goodspeed 5pts ew @ 14/1 Ladbrokes Seasoned campaigner Continent has shown more than a couple of signs of running into form recently, and after his impresive 2nd place last time out I didnt think i'd be getting a double figure price about him next time. Still well treated on his old form, he can run into a place. Stanley Goodspeed faces his toughest task today and to win, he probably needs a couple to run below par. Nevertheless, I think he could still prove unexposed over this trip of 6 furlongs, over which his record is 112 (only defeated last time by a head). Each way claims and 14/1 looks more than fair from ladbrokes.
Aykay1
Re: Time for a Nap 345 Ascot: Fullandby 5pts ew @ 16/1 Coral In cracking form recently and provided me with a nice 4/1 winner last time out. He is worth sticking with whilst his form remains intact and the ground remains on the soft side . The step up to 7f is the only concern but he has been finishing his 6f races strongly so hopefully his stamina will be good enough.
Aykay1
Re: Time for a Nap 325 Chester - Dhaular Dhar 5 pts ew @ 10/1 VC Bet - Chesters a course that often breeds course specialists and its noteworthy that DHAULAR DHAR has won both of his starts here, both over this trip. He's been struggling a bit off revised handicap marks after the 2nd of his wins here, and has dropped to a more realistic rating for this. He's a hold back horse who will come with a late run and should get the pace he needs in tomorrows race. Suitably, he may be one to play in running if you want inflated odds :ok Hopefully we'll get first 4 places paid each way. Forecast 8/1 in the Racing Post Another one for me today is DHAULAR DHAR in the 320 at Chester - 5pts ew @ 10/1 - widely available You can see from the cut and paste above, that i've backed this one befroe - he's yet to run a bad race at Chester and on todays firmr ground can run better than he did last time on good to soft at Ayr. This one needs a strong pace to his races, which is something he didnt get last time out either. I'd reiterate the senitments in my earlier post and am backing him again today for the same reasons. Aykay1
Re: Time for a Nap 525 Ascot - Winged D'Argent 5pts ew @ 7/1 Ladbrokes Going with the racing post selection here :) Take a look at the ground this one has won on and its 4 wins have been on Soft, Soft, Good to Soft and Soft, so it is clear that he wont be inconvenienced by todays conditions. He has been racing in Group compnay recently and invariably been outclassed but drops to grade 2 today. His handicap mark is slipping, without him running particularly badly (more so running in races where he is out of his depth). Seems to have a lot in his favour and is a definite bet. Aykay1
Re: Time for a Nap Think that may have just about put you into profit:nana Lets hope so Russ :ok As usual i've been a bit slack in updating the figures but i'll do them after tomorrows racing... 255 Newm - Giganticus - 5pts ew @ SP (f/c 16/1) This one caught the eye when running 2 useful types (Obe Brave and Levera) close on this course back in April. He has had excuses on his subsequent 2 runs and assuming full fitness looks a big each way price.
Aykay1
Re: Time for a Nap 545 Newm - Hernando Royal 5pts ew @ SP (f/c 9/1) This one has been crying out for a step up in trip and gets it today. Caught the eye on his debut when he finished a 2 length runner up to a horse who is now racing off 88. Hernando gets in off 80 today, which could prove lenient if the step up in trip revives him after a disappoining effort last time. His 6 length romp prior to that makes him worth another chance. Aykay1
Re: Time for a Nap What was that all about? :lol 455 Newmarket - Skhilling Spirit - 5 pts ew @ 7/1 Stan James Will love the soft ground today and was by no means disgraced last time out beaten 3 lengths by Fonthill Road at Ayr. This looks easier today.
Aykay1
Re: Time for a Nap 830 Wolves - Cursum perficio 5pts ew @ 6/1 paddypower Backed this one a couple of runs ago (see below) and it seemed to blow the cobwebs away after a lengthy absence, as next time out he ran into 2nd place at a big price. On a form line through Fajr, he looks fairly treated and back in form should run a big race. 340 Kempton - Cursum Perficio 5pts ew @ SP This one looks interesting coming back from a 134 day absence. Im hoping that isnt a negative as he ran a stormer first time out this season (after a 292 day absence) behind the very well treated FAJR, who has since gone onto better things. To put it in perspective, both horses raced off marks of 70 that day and FAJR was victorious by only 3/4 length. That horse has won twice since then and is now rated 82. Cursum gets in off 74 here so there is a case to say he is potentially well treated. The gamble is of course that we dont know if he is 100% fit. Next time out after getting beaten by FAJR he disappointed and that may explain the long absence since. I'll be keeping stakes small but the forecast 10/1 in a 10 runner race looks good each way value.

Aykay1
Re: Time for a Nap Lets try and get this thread into profit before the season ends. With study commitments i havent examined the form too closely on these but they have positive write ups in the RFO ths week and i'll be having a dabble today: 525 Meccas Mate - 5pts ew @ SP I backed this a couple of runs ago but didnt get a return however, he has been showing positive signs of a return to form and this drop in trip to 5f on g/s ground will be right up his street. Form on softer than good ground over 5f reads 121112 so no excuses not to go close today. 420 Firenze - 5 pts ew @ SP Again, the price is a touch restrictive on this so we'll take SP as i think it will lengthen. Firenze has the best form on offer here, especially considering she was only beaten 4 lengths in a Group 2 last time out on similar conditions to today. Form in this standard of race is ultra consistent and is one who will cope with the softer conditions. 310 Newmarket - Topatoo - 5pts ew @ SP Another horse who i've backed a couple of times this year except this time he's been getting me returns. Appears to be at the top of his game at present and again is one who has proven form in the conditions. Toughest race so far but is in form and doesnt look out of his depth. A short favourite should ensure an each way price.
