PL Tips: All Weather Watch

Recommended Posts

I mentioned in another thread how the PL Tips perform at each racecourse, I wasn't sure how I could use these stats but one thing it did do was show how well the ratings performed on AW tracks.

Its probably not too surprising that the AW tracks are the most consistent by the very nature of the surface being so similar at each meeting, the size of fields are pretty similar and the same horses often run against each other quite a lot.

These are the figures for each AW track for a full 12 months. £20 Stakes (£10 EW if over 8/1)

I haven't had the time or the inclination to sort out the separate figures when these tracks hold NH racing, but i'm guessing the AW races would still be in front.

Chelmsford +1318.16
Dundalk + 237.30
Wolverhampton +1135.10

Lingfield +346.34
Southwell +354.14
Kempton +830.24
Newcastle +1197.76

As its the start of a new month i'd thought i'd track the selections throughout October on the various AW tracks

Rather than list them all each day all of the selections can be found at the top of the page under Horse Racing Tips or follow the link below. At the end of the day I will list the results.

https://www.punterslounge.com/tips/free-horse-racing-tips

Selections will be calculated to a £1 stake (EW if 8/1 or over) and to save any wise owl saying they cant get the prices I will run this test to SP only, cant say fairer than that.

:ok

seems to have been a lot of meetings at Kempton this week ..........

Yeah, too many. Somehow I prefer watching them running the other way round, not sure why that is but I have never liked RH tracks from a viewing perspective.

Kempton

NR, Won 2/9, Won 9/4, NR, NR : Returns 7.47

Total Stakes: 8.00
Total Returns: 7.47

I see that last night's Kempton meeting was abandoned with two races left because of an incident at the track

According to BBC News a man died after being injured in the stables yard ........ police are treating the death as 'unexplained'

edt .... just reading other reports it seems the man was a stable lad in his 50s and it appears that he was kicked by a horse and died at the scene from injuries sustained

RIP ....... it's a dangerous game.

Have to say I really don't like Southwell out of all of the AW tracks, it just looks like hard work for the horses.

It looks like beach racing with shocking kick-back. Have there ever been any plans to change to Polytrack or Tapeta? Or do some trainers like this. It has been suggested that soft ground horses are better on it.

Yeah, i think its the nearest AW surface to soft ground.

I don't like the fact that they finish strung out like washing, the winning distances are much more exaggerated on Fibresand and thats not great for a rating based system (unless you are just doing it at Southwell of course).

Plenty of course specialists which is a bit of a give away to what we are dealing with. At least the northern based horses now have Newcastle as an alternative.
