  1. Working again this morning, but prceded by a splash screen from Cloudflare "Verifying you are human". I tick a box and it proceeds to B365.
  2. I cannot access B365 website when using Firefox. I'm getting a screen from Cloudflare security: "Sorry you are blocked!" The website is OK using MIcrosoft Edge. I had this before about a week or so ago. It went away, now it's back. Google seems to suggest I'm not alone. A live chat with them went as below. Any ideas? (Chat deleted due to formatting issue - 365 basically said they couldn't identify the issue and suggested using other browsers - harry_rag)
  3. Red Zone: Call me an old fogey, but the loud heavy metal guitar they are imposing on top of Scot Hanson's voice is driving us nuts. I'm sure it never used to be this loud and unpleasant.
  4. I stopped using PP when they cut back on offering BOG for most meetings. Lo and behold, I get offered BOG on all UK and Irish racing. No idea how many get it. Now in the habit of using B365 generally. PP offers can be good; eg money back on 2,3,4 - but usually at poorer prices. I often use instead of each-way. I understand overdoing use of offers is a good way to get shut-down.
  5. Really looking forward to the new season. My lad usually comes round and we have a takeaway while watching RedZone. My selections will be guided by NFL.com Power Rankings and, after about 4 weeksa to settle down top picks from the Westgate Hilton Supercontest (published before the games). People have to pay ~ $1K to enter the contest, so there are some smart minds to gudie the way
  6. I'm continuing to work on my back, then Green-up system, The following are my daily pix with B365 prices at ~ 8.30am. In square brackets [ ] are B365 prices at ~10.30. We'll see the results and SPs. BRI 2.40 Cobalt Blue 5/4 [EV] LING 6.20 Topo Chico 11/8 [5/6] 6.50 Cajero 6/4 [11/10] 7.20 Belo Horizonte 8/13 [4/9] 7.50 Sparked 3/1 [11/4] BANG 4.30 The Big Jetaway 13/8 [11/10] 5.00 Al Zaraqaan 6/4 [13/8] 5.30 Slate Lane 4/5 [8/13] 8.05 Police Acadamy 13/8 [13/8]
  7. Lexington Belle wins. Backed at 4/5, SP was 1/3. I can't see what the Betfair SP was as I haven't yet opened a Timeform account. (Why isn't this freely available to all? I have a Betfair account.). If there is enough interest, I'd like to see a daily thread of Lay / Green-up opportunities. Thoughts?
  8. Following on from Siamor's Lay thread and the suggestion one of our regular's about backing certain horses in the morning, then laying before the off, expecting it to be shorter. I've just backed Lexingtom Belle at 4/5, Wolves 2.15. It strikes me as the kind of horse that will shorten. We'll see what the Betfair SP is.
  9. I have cancelled my Dail Mail digital subscription. Sadly it's paid until Jan 24, Is Marcus Townend the new Robin Goodfellow?
  10. It's great to see that Amazon are dropping tennis and it is coming back to Sky (after 8 years).
  11. I think I was incorrect in stating earlier that the back market overround was an exchange profit. On further thought, I don't think it is. It's merely a reflection of available back prices. It has to exist - or you could back every horse in the race and make a profit. (Similar in lay market.)
  12. It has to be. If it was the other way round, you could both back and lay a horse - and be in profit. If you look at the favourite, the lay will be very slightly higher odds than back, eg 5/4 back, 11/8 lay. Betfair might have an over-round of 105% back, and an under-round of 95% lay. Betfair need a small profit on the book (plus commision). You will see a big difference on longshots back, eg 20/1 back with bookie, 50/1 back on exchange. Bookmakers do not give fair prices on outsiders. When a longshot wins, the bookies are usually happy.
  13. Years ago bookmake, Barry Dennis used to put up his "Bismarks" on Channel 4 Morning Line. They could have made a lay strategy, though he was only advocating "avoidance". They were short priced (reducing lay liability). Sometimes he would give 2 horses "coupled" in the same race to produce a suitably priced shortie. I also recall a "Binchy's Lays" thread on this forum which ran for about a year. It is an interesting subject but more difficult than it first appears. Stats gurus should be able to get their teeth into it.
  14. So "red headgear" is OK to race in; but why choose red given the other use of red for pacifier hoods? So many colours to choose from!
  15. ITV racing keep telling us that red hoods are used as pacifiers in the paddock and taken off at the start. I keep seeing horses racing in red hoods, eg on Tuesday 13th, if I remember correctly: 1. Southwell 2.00 number 2. Stallone 2. Southwell 4.00 number 14. Witten Broadcast Are ITV telling us the full story?
  16. Recently there seems to have been a proliferation of this kind of race - and I don't see why ??? I used to think of level weights stakes races as a bit better than handicaps but these are the bottom of the barrel. Take today's 1.50 at Southwell as an example. The bottom three in the betting are rated 42, 43, 42 and are priced at 80/1, 80/1, 125/1. They have very little chance against the favourite rated 49. Why would the trainer enter them ??? Surely these low quality horses have more chance in a 0-60 handicap - even if a few punds out of the bottom of the handicap.
  17. I agree. He wrecked my Murphy, Ronnie double. It wasn't just poor, it was the atitude and body language. I would like a Milkens, Murphy final.
  18. I hope ITV can pull their finger out and bring us Navan in addition to Lingfield.
  19. I can't see KC -8.5 and Buff -5 (B365) lasting long, so have jumped in now. In the WC weekend, the favs tended to firm up.
  20. They do 2 picks per day, 6 days per week; and are regarded as a bit of a joke. I guess £69 down on £566 is not too bad. Maybe our PL ace, The Brigadeer should should volunteer on a "payment for profit" basis. I for one would take more notice.
  21. The results are in for 2022. I don't know if these are still provided by Luke Harvey. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/20902797/bbc-horse-racing-tips-backfire/ 566 picks, 108 winners. £1 on each lost £69 at year end. They had a pole earlier in the year on whether to keep or get rid. They decided to keep them.
  22. I note Paddy has cut back on BOG. 1. Not at minor meetings. 2. Not before 8am.
  23. I too am looking forward to2022 NFL. My lad usually comes around on Sunday mights and we have a few drinks and a takeaway while watching RedZone. I've got a new system worked out, so ready to test it, but I need a few weeks of results before I can kick it into action. B365 already have Week 1 spreads up.
