2.20 Lingfield

Hold Tight won a maiden over 7f at Leicester on debut a good effort in defeat again over 7f around here when run down in the final furlong, that was back in October last year so concern he has been off the track so long. Up 4lb for that effort which looks a little harsh, the winner has not boosted that form losing last 3 times including 2 times when favourite, looks poor value in current market despite the drop in trip in his favour.

Boomerang Bob looks the best option and certainly best value in the market, he has won his last 2 starts first in a claimer at Southwell and latest around here over CD when beating a good yardstick in Mythmaker by a neck, only up 4lb for that which looks fair. Still looks potentially well handicapped on his very best form having won a listed race in his younger days and the Osborne may be able to get him back at the same level after just 3 runs for him and yard in good form.

1pt win Boomerang Bob 10/3 PP

2.45 Chelm - Lamar - win at 5/4 bog bet365

This week's fast track qualifier is a fillies conditions race over 7F

My selection won the big race last Saturday over a mile but this shorter trip is OK as won over it in November at Wolves

If you look at her last 3 races she's consistently been running against rivals rated over 100, winning 2 and finishing 3rd in the other. There's nothing rated over 100 in todays race and she looks the one to beat

Main danger is probably My Call from Godolphin who's lightly raced and has won two from 3, last time in a handicap over 6F. There was nothing of the quality of my selection in that race and it's not certain she'll be suited by the extra furlong

3.00 Warwick

Not the first time Irish champion trainer Willie Mullins has come over for this race and he saddles both Open Eagle and Thomas Hobson. Both are hurdlers that have come from the flat and there wasn’t much between them then. I just prefer Thomas Hobson who won well at Punchestown last time out. Born Survivor leads the home contingent; he won here over C/D in December is very well regarded by the Skelton’s and should take all the beating. McKenzie’s Friend is worth keeping an eye on and could run well at a decent price.

Selection: Born Survivor 9/4 PP

2.30 Naas - Edwulf @ 15/8 Bet365

Maiden hurdle where the favourite Edwulf switches from fences. He was cruising when coming down at the last in a very strong Beginners Chase at Navan with Walk to Freedom, McKinley and Champagne James in behind making him a 140+ horse already if he stays up. Has been purchased by JP McManus since and they've decided to go down the hurdle route this season and if he is none the worse for his fall and jumps his his hurdles he'll be very hard to stop with the Mullins rival having a lot to find based on a poor run last time out.

W2.25 Rolling Maul 10/1 Bet365

This is one of only two course winners in the field and that win was crucially on soft ground which is a major plus on todays going. The horse was staying on well to win that race over a furlong shorter and this c&d could be ideal. 7lb higher now but has the assistance of Sean Bowen and the subsequent wins of the 3rd in that race suggests that this is still a winnable mark.

2.20 Lingfield: Class 3 Handicap, 6f

I expect a brisk pace here which should suit the short priced favourite. Hold Tight should definitely go well and won't mind the drop in trip, but bottom weight Luis Vaz De Torres looks excellent value after an impressive performance lto.

He pulled extremely hard throughout the race in a slowly run affair which doesn't suit him well, nonetheless he quickened nicely and looked good for more. The handicapper has been lenient, so this is a big opportunity to achieve a career best.

Luis Vaz De Torres @ 8/1 Ladbrokes
