5pm Nottingham - Forgiving Chance. 1pt Win Bet @ 5/1 Bet365 Sole stand out runner for trainer Mr Alan King, more known for being a jumps trainer, the 3yr old grey also has an entry for Aug the 5th at Kempton running over 1m 4f - today's 1m 2f shouldn't be any problem and she can get off the mark under jockey Louis Steward. Louis makes the trip for this one ride, traffic gets them beat.

3.45 Ripon - Mass Rally win @ 10/1 SkyBet Mass Rally has been falling in the weights due to not winning since 2013. He was rated as high as 105 just 11 months ago and is beginning to look well handicapped on a mark of 95. I don't think his 3 runs this season are as bad as they first appear. He was 4 lengths behind Out Do (who ran last week off a mark of 109) on his seasonal debut at Pontefract. Throughout his career he has always seemed to need the run so I don't think the run was too bad. He wasn't far behind the winner at York on his second run of the season despite finishing 5th. His run at Hamilton lto was poor but perhaps the ground had gone against him as his previous 2 races were on good ground, having said that though, some of his best form from years ago came on softer ground. Either way I think his Hamilton run was too bad to be true and he should be bouncing back today. This is also his easiest task for sometime and the last time he took part in a class 3 contest was in 2012 and he won.

Nott 3,30 - Celtic Sixpence - win at 10/1 bog wm hill Sprint handicap Going for one of the outsiders here who has a good course record with 2 wins and 2 seconds from 6 visits Won over CD last time on a return to sprinting as she usually runs over further. Made all that day having crossed over to the rail and can do the same today against perhaps better opposition. The favourite for one looks a good thing

345 Ripon: Mass Rally 8/1 bet365/Skybet Have to back Mass Rally in this weaker company despite not really firing on all cylinders so far this season. This time last year was 10lbs higher and hasn't ran in a Class 3 handicap since Sept 2012. The Dodds yard is in good nick and he goes on the ground so no excuses as i can see.

2.30 Nottingham: Class 5 Nursery, 1m Money is floating in for Harlequin Rock and it's easy to see why. This Rock Of Gibraltar son hasn't shown anything in three maidens but will be very suited by the step up to 1m on his nursery debut. He gets into this race off a very low opening which may underestimate his potential. First time gelded, which works well for sons of ROG, he is from a mediocre family, although his dam has produced horses that who have been competitive off mid-60 marks. Here's a fair chance that Harlequin Rock is underestimated in this field. Harlequin Rock @ 8/1 Betfred - 5pts Win

2.30 notts Harlequin rock @7/1 betfred Betfred currently stand alone so won't last long...... I'm very much in agreement with robertob. Should be a different horse now into nurseries.... Stable has had a few winners recently and this race looks pretty weak.... Absolutely shoe in for a place but for comp purposes I will go for the win

C8.45 Operateur 25/1 Bet365 This horse racked up a 4 timer at Hamilton last Summer when the ground was on the easy side so hopefully the return to softer ground here will see a return to form. In truth the horse hasn't shown an awful lot lately, but it does seem to be much better with give in the ground and the horse is now well handicapped after those below par performances. The horse is now 2lb lower than the last of those wins in that 4-timer and a decent jockey has been booked in this ladies race.
