2.15 Salisbury - Smoothtalkinrascal win @ 5/1 PaddyPower Smoothtalkinrascal hasn't won for over a year but looked to come back to form last time out with a good 6th in the dash at Epsom. He is dropped 3lbs for that and is also dropped in class to a class 4 for the first time since his second career run back in 2012. That alone means he must have a big chance in this company. On old form he would win this easily and is 21lbs under his last winning mark and, while it is hard to catch him right, it surely must be only a matter of time before he goes in again. On his day he should be a step above this opposition.

415 Doncaster: Eccleston 4/1 Bet365/Skybet Eccleston use to be with Richard Fahey and then went and won on his first start for David O'Meara. He gets a 3lb penalty for that which is fair enough and i don't think that will stop him here. He gets his conditions and has won at Donny before so all looks set for a big run.

Sals 2.15 - Desert Command - win at 6/1 bog betvictor Has been running over 6f recently but not quite getting home Drop to the minimum looks a good ploy with a first time visor......presumably the plan is to get out front and make all Just 1 lb higher than last winning mark and has won at Bath which I think of as a bit similar to Salisbury with a bit of a dog-leg and an uphill finish

D4.15 Adams Ale 20/1 Skybet I like the look of both Flyman and Adams Ale here but the 20/1 on Adams Ale has swayed me in that one favour. The trainers last 2 runners have won (albeit over jumps) but he had a well backed flat winner last week as well for the same jockey as todays. The horse is now a pound lower than when just missing out at Ripon last September and can go close again here.

4.15 Doncaster : Mississippi @ 6/1 bet365 win thanks Mississippi......from Paul Midgley yard the 6yo on his fifth yard in its short career so far , He joined this yard in March this year and has had 4 runs for yard , He managed two place finishes in first two race for yard at Ripon 6f good to soft 2nd and on soft 3rd , the yard brought it away from Ripon to Pontefract 6f where it ran poor at finished 6th of 9 runners beaten 3.50 lengths on good to firm , That brings us to its last race 11 days ago the yard brought it back to Ripon 6f good to soft and yard put the cheekpieces on for the first time and low and be holed it wins for the first time on turf as its only other win was as a 3yo at Kempton AW 1m , In the 25 races its had its only found the frame 7 times hopefully it can now have a good run of success for owners as the cheekpieces may be the key to more success , Jockey Graham Lee been on all the runs for this yard and keeps ride again although its up by 3 in ratings to 87

Smoothtalkinrascal was a N/R 4.15 Doncaster - Canyari win @ 11/2 Bet365 Ran very well lto to finish a length behind Eccleston. Hes 3lb better off today and has Samantha Bell's 5lb claim so is effectively 8lbs better off so should get a lot closer this time. The soft ground is a concern but he's yet to have run on soft so may go well on it. He would need a career best to win this but is in great form and i wouldn't be surprised if he could step up and win this.
